    Entrance to dog park
    Amy K.

This is the best KOA around! The grounds were beautiful and taken care of. I hope it stays that way. They told us this place used to be privately owned and just became a KOA. They have large parking spaces in front to leave your rig while you check in. Someone drives a golf cart and leads you to your site. Every site has a picnic table and a small cement slab and almont every site had at least one tree. They told us to try to keep everything off the grass because they were trying to grow it nice. (I can totally respect that.) They have a grassy dog park tucked away in the back with sail shades. There were also other small areas for dogs to sniff around and do their thing. There was a huge grass area in front of the complex too that was great. The pool was heated and was so nice. They have a cool bar/restaurant called the Crest that a lot of locals go to. We can't wait to go back. It was so relaxing.

These guys were nice enough to help move the power to another unit.

We stayed here Sept & Oct 2020 for 1 week each time, so that we could visit our new grandson. I requested that Ed Patterson the owner give me a call back to discuss our concerns, he refused to call us back. What kind of business doesn't follow up on serious issues? 10/12/2020 I left for several hours to go shopping, came back and the power was out on our unit and it was hot as hell inside. 10/13/2020, again I left for several hours, only to come back to find power was at our unit again. It was like an oven in there. So, for 2 days in a row our power goes out and no one was even there. There's nothing worse than coming back with groceries to your RV to find out that there is no power, especially on such extremely hot days. I called the office and they said that they would send someone over. Brian a short aggressive dark haired man was mad & yelling at me, telling me that I was using too much power/wattage. He continued with you probably have hairdryers, coffee pots, toasters & a whole bunch of appliances plugged in. I explained to him that we have traveled the US in this unit and are not new to using it. I asked him to explain why would it go out if we aren't even in the RV and nothing was on, except for the air conditioner ? I also told him that the ladies in the office told me that site 148 had issues and wasn't working. He got really mad and yelled that they don't know anything. (The office staff told me that we should use site 139). This of course after the 2nd day of no power. Luckily, we had an extension on board and I asked them to help switch us over. I surely can't do it, it's too heavy. They were nice enough to switch me over to site 139 and what do you know, we never had an issue with the power. BEWARE SITE 148 DOESN'T WORK. I even explained to Brian that we didn't have power issues in September when we came. He still refused to acknowledge their faulty site. He left and I locked myself in the unit, I was a little scared. All of a sudden there is a forceful pounding on my door. I was kind of scared to open it, it was Brian who handed me a listing of items and their wattage. He said that I should know these things since it was my fault and I overloaded the system. WTH, now he's harassing me and scaring me even more. I stayed in my unit the rest of the week. He's a very scary, aggressive guy, with what seems nothing better to do than harass the woman at the park. Funny thing, Brian doesn't come around when my man is present. Brian is so mean it's ridiculous. If you read the other reviews you will see a pattern. He's apparently like this especially with the females. He drives around in his golf cart looking for any kind of violations, so that he can run over and and jump into action. I feel like I have to stay in my RV when I'm there because every time I come out there's staff in golf carts lurking around. For example, if you sit in your lounge chairs outside, they come by and slow down and watch you. They do this all day, they drive really up close even onto the grass and watch you. It's scary, they make it uncomfortable to eat outside, sit in a lounge chair, or get some sun. It's just really creepy. The sprinklers come on every day and they're not set up right so they are hitting everything and they don't really have grass, it's weeds and crab grass that they are watering. The water sprays everywhere and you can't leave your coach. The gardener that comes on Wednesdays is not careful here. They use weed whackers in the gravel and to cut weeds. They edge the so called grassy areas, which sends the gravel flying onto the coaches. I was inside our coach while hearing the tink, tink, tink of rocks and sand hitting our coach which has custom paint. They pretty much sand blast and dent the sides of the coaches. I spoke with several neighbors while we were there and they weren't to happy with the way they were being treated. Most were just there for a night. The also experienced the golf cart guys putting them in the wrong site and having to move their units and felt uncomfortable being outside of their coaches. On the plus side, they have a gate which they lock at night and that's why we chose this place to begin with. I hoping that the owner sees this and calls me.

So we took 3 years off and went to another park on our way to AZ. This year we returned, just to give it a second chance. Went much better. But still feel like they have room for some customer service improvement. We arrived at 12:15... they close for 1hr for lunch at noon , and the door is not opened until 1:00. That was unexpected, but fine. Then they arrive and not over welcoming... no "welcome", "sorry for the wait", just an "how can I help you?" No longer do the offer orange picking sticks , and clearly state all rules in big bold letters. Just wish it was more like early visits we enjoyed at this park. Simply more welcoming . The groves are wonderful, the landscaping and plants are over the top beautiful. Sadly the vibe is not "welcome to our park"

Our site (65ft) was clean, spacious, well equipped, and provided us a great view of the orange grove nearby. Noise from hwy58 and occasional train was not an issue for us. The restroom-shower facilities were exceptionally clean and well kept! I had to compliment the caretaker gentleman directly for this. Our pet also enjoyed the pet area. Walking, biking path provided us great way to include a little exercise. This will definitely be our location stay for future visits with our son.

This is going to be the most honest and thoughtful review one person can make. I came here 3 months…read moreago not knowing anything about Bakersfield or this RV park. I was in a bind and the price attracted me. I've stayed at many rv parks mostly KOA but never long term. First off this is on the east side of town, so once it gets dark there's no lights on. Management requested 2 months security deposit saying my credit was bad so I gave it to them thinking I would get it back. Everything here is done by money orders something very primitive last time I used one was 30yrs ago I didn't know they still existed. During my stay I'm informed by a employee there that manager steals people's rents and she recorded Donna and she got fired. This place is filled with thieves. The hotel next doors review are all about people breaking into their cars and rooms. Behind the rv park is a homeless encampment and they constantly scour the park to break into rv, cars, storage you name it. No one does anything. They charge you $45/mth for water you can't drink it causes cancer, so if your pet drinks it they will have diarrhea something no one tells you. The place is filled with dog poop everywhere no one cleans after their dogs let alone keeping them on a leash. The tenants are decent some nice but everyone is there because this is the last resort. Orange park rv is far nicer actually any other park is better than here. Now to my security deposit, you have to give them a 30 day notice in writing so I did, they have 21 days by law and they make sure they take their sweet time. I called every other day and the manager made it sound like I'm a nuisance, well If an employee tells you that management is stealing rent money orders from tenants you would be concerned as well. Turns out my security deposit was returned $200 short. I paid $950 they gave me back $750. So if you're thinking about staying here because you don't have money, rv is old or whatever the reason, make sure you can deal with what I wrote in detail. Because they'll be nice to get you in then brush you off once they got you. I had to fight for my deposit back and they still stole $200. There's 100 spots there so if they do this to 20 people a month that's 4k someone is making per month on top of whatever else they steal. Very lucrative thieves here. In fact i I emailed every top employee of BoaVida Communities to get an answer and seems as if they buy and sell these parks using investors money. This place used to be nice, same rv in the pic from 10-20yrs ago are still there it's like a twilight zone. Right next to a freeway, my neighbors car was stolen as she was doing her laundry. At night it's super dark, it's far away from everything decent. You can't walk around without garbage, poop and glass everywhere or homeless people walking up to you. Always on guard to make sure no one steals anything. Then to be worried your rent is gonna get stolen. The girl that worked there got fired for reporting the theft issue now my security deposit got $200 stolen. They know that no one can do much so they take advantage of people, they haven't met karma yet. One day someone will come and throw some acid in their face maybe that will be a reality call for these thieves who prey on the poor. If you don't believe me look at the review for the hotel next door it's called WoodSpring Suites. The homeless live behind that hotel and this rv park. Talk about living in hell. Soon someone will take someone's life for being thieves. I almost got to that point, when you're poor and have cancer you have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Karma is coming for these crooks

Granted it looked like all construction workers because there was nothing else but oversized trucks in their parking lot! My fiancé Googled "clean hotel without bed bugs" and Padre Hotel came up first! Their online reviews were great and we were exhausted and needed to rest! We pulled into their valet parking just to drop off our things. As my fiancé parked the car, across the street in the over night garage, I was able to get a Single King room on a Monday night for $159. As we walked into our room #701, it was rather small, but fine since it was just the two of us. As I sat on the bed, it was actually hard! Yay!!!! I can't STAND soft beds and rather sleep on the floor! Haha no joke! Then my fiancé went into the restroom and suddenly he tapped on something glass sounding as I was turning ing on the tv..... I noticed there was a curtain by the bed, so I pulled it across and lo and behold by the bed was the shower and just a curtain the person from the outside of the shower could open/close as they please..... hee. We also had a mini fridge in the room along with a desk and chair. We had planned on staying one night, but got inside LA, and we figured we'd extend our stay. Upon doing so, we went downstairs the next day and asked if there was a deal if we could stay 3-4 days, and sure enough there was!!!! It's always great to see what happens once you ask! Hee. We got a larger room with a corner room location, I forgot the room number, but the restroom was larger and had a separate wall between the toilet and shower area, so if someone was in the shower, someone else could use the toilet and not be seen. This longer hotel room also had a chaise lounge chair and a better view of their downtown area, granted a lot of the places have closed. Overall, I honestly loved our stay here! It reminded me of a county version of The Fairmont SF! They constantly played new aged country music in the lobby! Then on Fridays and Saturdays there was a live band or singer in the bar area! I love how they had a community aspect to the hotel with some local live entertainment!!! My fiancé also loved watching The Knicks play on the bar tv with other people at the bar! Hee. Oh and they had an adorable coffee shop that made Ready To Order items downstairs too! See my review at Farmacy Cafe, but too freaking too! Country SHREK! Hee We will definitely be back again!!!!!
