This RV park is awesome, everything to the spots to the pool. Pricing is good amenities are good and clean, easy to get in and out sometimes a little hard to get into the gate but i've never really had an issue, I see it as a good safety feature. Overall it's a clean park and the staff are friendly. read more

This park is small and has a horrible layout, the lady who runs this RV park is super unprofessional and has a disgusting lazy attitude. Most recent stay was 4-27-16 [I'm late in writing my review] 1st impression says WOW! All large wide concrete pads with non-moveable picnic table for (2) only 2 [very tiny] cable tv full hook ups - definitely a Big Boys RV Park. We camp in a "Tear Drop" style RV only 15' long and we looked dwarfed next to the big boys. We are w/o toilet or shower and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area. Got a spot 3 sites from restrooms all heated which were very nice with tiled walls and floors; appearing to newer - maybe last 5 years or so with 2 large stalls ~ sink vanity area is roomy giving entire facility a 5 star rating. Sure would have been nice and more convenient if it had shelves and hooks in shower and sink area for your stuff. CONS: Picnic table too small and not movable - need grassy strip between sites so we could set up our dinning fly - didn't see any tents set up - not a recreational park no activities PROS: Excellent restrooms - large cement pads - sparkling pool - park with locking gate at night after 7:00 access with code - great for big rigs and perfect overnight stop for little RV's like us read more

We stored our fifth wheel there and noticed it had damage from being stored there and not one person at that facility reported the damage and of course knew nothing about it. The rude lady that is always there basically said they couldn't do anything for us because they had no knowledge of the damage. We had also had asked to pay a year in advance after we had just paid for 6 months and that very same lady said we couldn't that we could only pay a month at a time. We rarely use our trailer so I'm not sure why that lady acts the way she does. I will never recommend using their facility to anyone. read more

Hospitality/Staff: 5 stars. They do everything they can to accommodate you. We had a monthly site. Tree branch blocked our awning from coming out. Tree branch gone! This has got to be one if not the quietest parks we have stayed at. My parents even stayed here 15 years ago. There are full timers but I guarantee you, you can barely detect them. The park management makes sure all our sites are tidy and not a lot of garbage around. I've been to RV parks where it looks like the ghetto with full timers. Not here. Everyone is courteous and nice. Price: The BEST! $400 a month plus electricity. There are cheaper ones but good luck, you'll wish you had come here. We love the pool and spa and get this, hardly anyone uses them. Feel like I have my own pool and spa. I thought being 6 miles out of downtown Bakersfield was too far but after 2 weeks, I like it. We have stayed at other parks in town but have now found our go to park in Bakersfield. Passport America: We have it. Desert Palms across the Highway honors it with $15 a night. We drove by it and looked around. Better have some Second Amendment rights to protect yourself. You will not be disappointed in this park. 4Stars? I got one of the sites that has not been converted over to full concrete sites. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by this RV park. We stayed here after a 10 day RV trip in the more remote areas of CA. We were all ready for a bit of "luxury" and food that we didn't have to cook. The RV pads are concrete, level, long, and most have a spot of grass right outside. Very easy to access from freeway. Small pool and very clean bathhouses. Lots of places to grab dinner (or have it delivered). Staff was very friendly. Park is also gated. read more

We like the location now that we have been here dozens of times. The more we stay here the more things we find to enjoy. The staff is wonderful and so helpful! That's one of the major things that keep us coming back. While this park isn't in town and it's right off the freeway, it's quiet for it's location. The sites are long and there is a little bit of space between them, not a lot but about average for a park. read more

We made a reservation for one month to stay at this park. We arrived late after the office closed, ready to pay in the morning. My husband went to the office 3 times, the 1st before it was to have opened. The next 2 times were within 15 minutes of the listed time for the office to be open. And no one was there. I called later on and the office staff advised that she was there. I did not argue with her. But I did continue our conversations with our wish to pay for the reserved month. She then advised me that 1- we were not in a monthly spot 2- there were no monthly spots available It did not matter that we had made reservations. Reservations are only saying you want to be there, with no promises of there being a spot. We would have made plans to be elsewhere if we were told honestly about the park spots. read more

Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience with this RV park. I had made a reservation in advance for one night -- we were going to be en route to Lake Havasu for an event and needed a place to stay on the way. I had a CONFIRMED, in writing (email) reservation from this RV park and told them we were coming in early evening. We even tried to call when we were running a bit late as they had said to call and get the gate code if there was any chance you would be coming in after 9pm. No one answered the phone at 5:45pm even though the website and our email confirmation said the office was open until 7pm. We arrived around 7pm to find the entire park full...not a space to be found. We also discovered that their system isn't the way most RV parks work - it's a random free for all. There's a sign that says - "take an empty space and pay us in the morning"....so people with no reservation can just come in and take all the spaces (most of which were filled up with long term people anyway) and leave you with no space. We finally found someone who told us where the maintenance guy lived - he was as helpful as he could be under the circumstances and told us about two other nearby RV parks that should have spaces left and even said we could park on the side of the road at the park if we couldn't find a space anywhere ... of course, that would have left us with no hookups and we needed to fill our tanks with water before we left as we were dry camping for 4 days at Lake Havasu. It was nice of him to try to help but it would have been inconvenient for us. We ended up getting a space literally up the street about 6 blocks ...was a nicer set up and ended up being cheaper but beware if you have a "confirmed" reservation at this park...that really means absolutely nothing!! read more

Nice RV park. Most all pull throughs. Long but narrow spaces. Park is well kept. Right off the 58. Very handy. Just passing through, staying one night. With good sam $30. Beware, we got up 5am. Went outside to sit, have coffee. 5:30 am. Sprinklers came on. Got shower. Sprinkler next to truck(drivers side) was broke. Truck got wash job. Trials & tribulations of RVing full time. LOL ! This is a wonderful RV Park. Very nice & laid out well. Lots of permanent residents but nice places & the RV park is so clean & nice. Gated after 7pm which is great. Close to Hwy 58 & really close to anything you need. Spaces are cement pads & long. Our 36' fifth wheel fit nicely with our Ford F-250 behind. Pool, laundry & showers available if needed. Stayed here as a tent-camper. Was not expecting much, as I had never pitched at an RV park before, but Bakersfield doesn't have a lot of camping options. I was very pleasantly surprised! The park is just off Hwy 58, so there's significant freeway noise; that's the downside. The upside is: -This place has heated, spotlessly clean bathrooms with hot-water showers! -pool -bigclean laundry room -Friendly At twenty bucks a night you better believe I'm a fan. Clean, secure with a gate that closes at night. Very Pet friendly, allows 3 dogs. Not many pet rules/enforcement with yappy dogs. Nice pool area. Reasonable monthly rates. Cable TV included and you can upgrade thru Brighthouse to HD and get a DVR for $36~$42. Wifi is generally ok but sometimes runs slow for hours or days on end. Sometimes doesn't work at all. Not ATV friendly at all but the Harley guys can ride all over the park. read more

We were looking for a place to stay at half way between San Francisco and Las Vegas so we found A Country RV Park in Bakersfield. The park was incredibly beautiful. Secure entry gate, wonderful staff; beautifully landscaped grounds--paved streets and sites. Our site had the usual picnic table but also a bench to sit on and a patio. The bath houses were extremely clean and modern. The only negative was that the pool needed cleaning and don't go near the hot tub--I wouldn't try to describe the mess floating in there. It looked as though no one has taken care of it in a year! It's a shame that these two pool area negatives takes away from a superior experience at A Country RV Park. Bakersfield CA has all the shopping one would want so it is definately a place to spend time in. If you're in the Bakersfield area--give it a try. We highly recommend them. PS--I doesn't hurt to be less than one half mile from the highway too. read more

This place has easy exit and entrance to Highway 58. No large trees so satellite signals are easy to get. Cable TV with lots of channels. The spaces are large and easy to get into and out of. Nice grassy spaces next to your coach. Well kept but this is a passing through kind of place, not a vacation destination. read more

We pulled in here for one night on our way to Palm Springs and very delighted to find the big, wide open RV pads. They have 50 and 30 amp. hook ups at each space. Open sky for all you people who have satellite dishes. It has a pool, hot tub and laundry facility. It has an easy in and easy out for big rigs. Very clean, and spacious. The grass looks like a putting green. Very nice. read more

Very nice rv park. We stopped for the night on our way to Santa Maria, CA from Las Vegas, NV. It was just the right distance. The office people were a little short and could have been better. We enjoy some time in the hot tub. We were going to get some propane but couldn't find the man who could make that happen and the office was any help. We arrived after-hours. The directions for this were not clear as in there was a number where you could only leave a message. It said to drop the money in the slot or pay in the morning. Office Hrs. were short! But we found a space and parked. The bathrooms were SPARKLING CLEAN. They had a code-lock on them but very luckily they were open!! Close to freeway but actually pleasant. We only stayed one night but it's close to Kern River and would have stayed longer if time allowed. read more

This is a great park. Clean and first class all the way. Just be careful around the trees other then that you will love it. They have a good sized off-leash dog park that made my two big dogs very happy which is why we stopped there. Price excellent for the quality of the RV park. read more

Although it was a gated community with a pool and a hot tub if it was not gated I would not stay it is in one of the worst shady areas of Bakersfield I do not like the sound of gunshots in the middle of the night and trust me on that side of the hood you do hear them a lot not the fault of the park but it is in a really bad neighborhood the sound of the freeway is annoying it's right off the freeway not the parks fault however they charge a lot considering what they deliver the sound of the train if you're light sleeper you will not enjoy this place the Transformers blew twice in the two weeks I was there the woman/ owner was annoyed to put down her cigarette to go into the office and make the call to the city to have the city come out and check the Transformers again we were without any power for a few hours I did not feel comfortable staying there I felt like I was putting people out I never use the amenities I never requested anything people in the park we're not friendly as well I feel it all stems off of the ambience in the feeling that you get when you drive-in no it has a gate yes it is clean but it is in the extremely intense ghetto area I would strongly say it is not worth the money saved for a nice destination. Other post talk about the train not being an issue then why do they even bring up the train in their post Because it's an issue Adding to this post Not the fault of A Country RV park but they are in nestled between a low income community and horse property and there are a ton of flies I had the misfortune of leaving my door open for a time when I was bringing in groceries . So many flies that must've taken me weeks to get rid of it was the worst fly infestation I've ever seen in my life. It was creepy ! I'm still dealing with the flies and it's been over two weeks . I will say keep your screen doors & window screens closed. Because there are flies everywhere there. read more

Having to relocate on short notice to another RV facility which harassed my nine year old daughter for not being next to me every second of every minute I was not exactly the easiest person to deal with. The distance to the project I was working on had increased only a little but relocating a trailer is something that is not a quick fix at times. Once I arrived at the "A country RV park" I was impressed with the facility as everything was spotless, I mean everything. Now I do not get the opportunity to use the RV since I work a lot and I do not get the chance to spend a lot of time with the daughter. So I make the most of both instances and the staff here were very nice in checking in and getting set up along with additional information on RVing. In the midst of the clean up I realized that the laundry was in need of help and they had a facility for just that. The facility for the laundry was clean and immaculate with everything working which was perfect. I have stayed at a few places that had never been as nice as this and just to pull out the chair to relax at the end of the day was impressive. Granted there are a few things to do in Bakersfield but if you just want to get stuff done such as technical reports then send them out so you can shut the computer down for the day. I was really impressed and I do look forward to returning to this location in the near future. Thank you Rosemary for a great time regardless of my circumstances as this is as good as it gets. I am a travel nurse and use my class c rv for wok and vacations as well, all over the USA. I have been here since January and will be until June. I have to say this is one of the best rv parks I have been in. Bakersfield CA itself is NOT a great area. However, this campground is extremely clean, gated and very very quiet. Most spaces are monthly...some weekly and some nightly. The owner is very accomodating when she knows your needs. Its a VERY popular campground so is totally full very often. The rules are strict , aka no ATV's, motorized bikes except big harley types and then only to drive out and to your space. The quiet times are strictly adhered too. NO one is allowed to leave junk, garbage or a mess around anywhere. There is a newly redone salt pool and spa, big laundry room and even a sandy dog tun and big grassy area for dogs to play on and off leash. Lots of retired folks here. Everyone is like neighbors; quiet, respectful and friendly. Office is open 9-6 daily. Manager and maintainance live in the park. YES, gun shots in the distance...sirens and traffic. Bakersfield is Not a vacation destination area and its quite a poor area out here. But retired seniors spend a lot of time in beautiful huge 40ft + class A's wintering here, many travel nurses and other working professionals as well ; safe, clean, quiet and great price. It was the third night of our trip south, and we stopped here for one evening. While we slept our mountain bikes were stolen off the back of our rig, so I wouldn't put to much confidence in the fact that it has a gate. We located the bikes on Craigs list the next day but were told by the sheriffs dept. that probably detectives wouldn't be able to get to it. This park was only OK, won't return. read more
