WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I scheduled to have a tech meet me between 6-7 pm to replace & reprogram a FOB key which would only need to take 10 minutes total to complete. The tech showed up an hour late with little to no apologies for the extra wait time. I then patiently waited while the tech worked with multiple FOBs which he could not re-program to the car. At 9:45 pm, I was told that he would need to order an additional key. At this point, he asked that I pay $240 for a manual key which was separate from the FOB and that I could pay the remaining $40 once the new FOB came in. I explained that I felt uncomfortable paying such a large portion of the invoice given that the project was no where near complete. I then asked to pay half up front and half upon completion. The tech then made a call to the owner to which the owner's response was "Nah." I proceeded to explain to the owner the circumstances under which this repair look place. I.E. Being an hour late to the appointment, being unable to re-program the FOB, now being 3.5 hours into the appointment time and I'm in the same position as when we started. There was no apology, there was no explanation, just a simple pay the $240 or that's it. The owner poorly represented himself as well as him company and wasted my time in addition to his tech's. Please give another local locksmith company your business. This one is not worth the effort, headache, or a 3.5 hour wait time. read more

I had a 'stuck' ignition in my older Honda (a known issue for my make & model). I talked to my regular mechanic. He said I needed an 'automotive locksmith'. I contacted this service provider, and was met with prompt, professional and courteous service throughout. My technician was Julio. He spent 3 hours removing the ignition switch to access the cylinder. It was tough work, but he never gave up. In the end, we had to order in a new ignition switch. Julio returned, installed and re-programmed everything. The car fought him every step of the way, and was throwing security fault codes. But he had the diagnostic equipment and know how to overcome every issue as it came up. This was a tough, tough job. But Julio never gave up. His perseverance and problem solving skills were amazing. Friday night last second call, fast service! Some clown bag broke into my car and stole my keys and a few other small items like my radar detector cable (why??) that loser doesn't have a Valentine One.. Yes... like an idiot, I had left my keys in the console (lesson learned). This caused all kinds of issues. Losing your keys is a pain in the ass. So these guys installed a lock on my door about 8-9 months ago, and it became a little loose after a few days of installation. I tried calling them back to see if maybe they could come out to fix it but unfortunately no one answered and it went to voicemail every time. Anyways, now the lock completely came off of my door handle. I remember the 2 guys that installed it, first horrible customer service (they seemed completely disinterested and talked amongst themselves the whole time) and second, horrible locks! I will always remember these guys and the poor job they did. I wouldn't have this problem until now if a good job was done, nor would I write a bad review. They've been really good about trying to filter out all of the bad reviews and only keep the high rated ones, unbelievable. I'm not usually the one to give bad reviews, I usually leave it alone, but this is just unbelievable and I feel like people should know. I am only giving a single star because Yelp won't let me give less! So unbelievably rude and overpriced! Long story short, as with almost anyone contacting a locksmith, I was having a horrible day. I contacted this company through AAA to help me because my keys were locked in the trunk of my car. The person who "tried to help" me quoted my $240 because she said her tech told her that since my keys were in the car, they would be unable to bypass the trunk release latch (the car would think it was being stolen and "deadlock) and would need to make a new key. I told the person that I didn't feel like I had a choice - I had my sister and my mother both stuck at the cancer center) and that I felt like I was a hostage. She told me that I had plenty of choices and HUNG UP ON ME! The next locksmith I called quoted me $140 to make me a new key and was there in 20 minutes. Once there, he QUICKLY bypassed the locked trunk release, popped the trunk and I had my keys (I paid $75 including tip!) I mentioned to Bakersfield Mobile Locksmith that I found this dispatcher to be rude and lacking compassion. She told me that it was "people like you" who lock their keys (it wasn't me who actually did it, but that is irrelevant) and then yell at "the ones who could help". I never yell - ever. It seems funny to read reviews and have some be absolutely terrible and others fantastic. That makes me suspicious. My experience with Bakersfield Mobile Locksmith was really good. They came to my house within an hour of my call. These guys were nice and reasonable enough that I have a difficult time believing the negative reviews. While they were unable to accomplish making me a key for my old Coke machine, they were able to get me into the machine while allowing me to continue to use it. I was concerned about being able to fix the lock later and just after they left I received a text from them with a website showing reasonably priced parts to make the repair (not theirs- a third party). I was really impressed. This is the first time I have had need for a locksmith but I would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to others. read more

I have been on the hunt for a reliable mobile locksmith for years. The usual issues I had never happened with Heath/Vinny at Bakersfield Mobile Locksmith. I work with a business that has several locations throughout California and I require some locks to be rekeyed often. We have a master key system that we also have to have match which tends to be too complicated for some locksmiths. They arrived on time, well dressed and professional. They had my locks rekeyed quickly with extra keys made as I requested, Because I had used other locksmiths in the past, the keys needed a little extra work and they came back out the next day as I requested (although they were willing to come back that same evening). Heath followed up with me to ensure everything was working well after Vinny had fixed my key issue. I am so happy to finally have a solid locksmith to use. I'll start by saying the technician was friendly and was done with the rekeying of all 5 locks in about 5 minutes. My problem with the service is that the tech could have been upfront with me about the options available for rekeying the locks. I have the kwik set smart locks that can be easily rekeyed by the homeowner without need for special locksmithing skills. I did not notice this until after the service was completed. FYI my wife ordered the service and I got home just in time to meet the tech. It would have been good customer service for the tech to make me aware that they are smart locks, so that I can decide to pay his service call fee of $75 and then rekey them myself, or pay the additional $20 per lock for him to rekey them for me. I called to inform their office of my disappointment and the person I spoke with was cordial but did not see any reason why the tech should have done any different. In the end, I would not recommend this company because they have prioritized their profit ahead of good customer service. read more

I was locked out of my apartment on a Monday night and called Bakersfield Mobile Locksmith because they had great reviews. I was told someone would arrive within 30 minutes which they sort of did. The problem was that he arrived at the wrong address. It took 10-15 minutes on the phone giving step by step directions before the guy finally figured out how to reach my large, not at all hidden away apartment complex. Once he arrived he got to work immediately but struggled to open the lock to my door. He spent about 20 minutes spraying the lock with WD40 and wiggling a key in it while banging on it with the handle of a screwdriver. His explanation was that the lock was "unstable" and you never know how long it will take to unlock any particular lock. Things did not look promising so long story short I had to pay someone else to come unlock the door but was still charged some BS $65 service fee for Bakersfield Mobile Locksmith coming out even though the tech didn't complete the job. Not sure how they justify charging that much money for driving over only to fail at unlocking my door. I think it's fair to have to pay a small fee but if you're charging $80 to unlock the door then charging $65 when you couldn't complete the job is a total rip off. I would say they should be ashamed of themselves but I'm sure they won't be read more

They installed a cheap lock on my door that resulted in breaking after a few weeks. I called them several times but they often didn't answer and their voicemail was full.
