When you have a special spot near home it's hard to share. This cozy cafe has so much decadent deserts I want to visit every day. The employees are patient with my taking photos and asking questions all the time. There is a small comfortable counter. Very small!! A table in the back. Narrow space getting in and out. It's best to go early or take out. They are open seven days a week from 6am to 9:30 pm. Hard working business. You can order cakes or select one on the spot. They have cupcakes, cookies, cannoli, cheesecake. I thought I died and went to heaven... Check out my photos and their web site. If you're up early you may run in to me some morning. I admit I haven't made a special cake order. I would forget the negative reviews and try for yourself. It's all good to me! M

I come to this bakery every morning to get my usual coffee and toasted buttered bread or bacon egg and cheese. Everything tastes delicious. The service is alright. They're really busy in the morning so the wait is a bit long at times. The only thing that irks me is that one of the employees/server ALWAYS messes up my order. I get it, it's busy, you have a lot of orders to get to.. but it's every time. I call in advance so when I arrive I'll just have to pick up my order and be on the go. I hate having to wait for my order to be done all over again. Or the fact that it was never being started on to begin with.

Exceptional service and great prices at this East Harlem gem! Got a custom cake for my brother's birthday in 48 hours (I did give them more notice). Long story short the cake was a huge hit! Exactly how I wanted. The best part it was moist and delicious (we chose vanilla buttercream!)

Tres Leche sweet 16 cake My daughter and all LOVED our cake. Just need to remind them /the Leche to pour on the servings.

Best cake tres leche All flavors I have ordered Custard Vanilla butter cream And the chocolate cake

    Pineapple cake

Everything look deliciously fresh, however the coffee and pineapple cake were slightly stale. I did go there late, but it is still no excuse for anything being stale. I bought a few items but only remembered to take picture of the. The 3 leches cake tasted pretty good, but it's kind of hard to mess up when it's soaking in sweat sweet milk. It's is quite conveniently close to Mt Sinai Hospital, so its worth stopping in if visiting someone.

3.5 I guess.... The cakes are a hit or miss...the first cake I bought, it was excellent. The 2nd cake I bought..it was kind of dry, like if it was over baked... Also their cake selection varies...I was hoping to pick up an 8" Oreo cake but there were none available. I guess I should have ordered it. Also, if you order it, it's a little more expensive...(just 3$ more for the 8") The workers do take their time working...

OMG!!!! They met all of my expectations and they blew my mind with this beautiful, gorgeous cake!!!! Thank YOU a million times!!! First time ordering a cake from this bakery and I first read all of the yelp reviews & I am NOT disappointed with my cake. The staff was very friendly and patient with me when I went in to order the cake. The cake was very DELICIOUS and not overly sweet. All of my guests complimented my cake and loved it! Will continue to order my cakes here for future special occasions.

Cute little spot to grab an espresso and a fresh cannoli or slice of cheesecake. Great addition to the neighborhood! Also, breakfast until 3pm with fruit smoothies and pancakes... So delicious!

This bakery ruined my daughter's Sweet Sixteen by messing up her cake. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!

After my last post I decided to stop by the bakery in the hopes of finding the manager. He wasn't there, as usual, but I was greeted by Alicia who after hearing what happened to me and noticing how upset I was, gave me a credit for half the price of the cake. It didn't make up for the frustration and aggravation, but all I wanted was for them to make it right and, because their cakes are so fresh and flavorful, I accepted the credit. Problem solved.

I was looking for an inexpensive tiramisu cake for my sister's birthday and I found this bakery shop, which is called Bakery on 3rd. When I went inside, the place looks like a bit empty, but it needs to have that typical bakery shop quality. there are less selections of pastries in this bakery shop like cookies, slices of chocolate carrot, and red velvet cakes, slices of cheesecakes, Flan, Tres Leches, and pudding. However, They don't have Cannoli and it saids Cannoli on the chalkboard menu, WTH!!. Then, their cakes, it looks like they tried so hard to have that Cake Boss type, but it's too amateurish in my POV. I was looking for a tiramisu cake, but they don't have that. Wha wha whaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!. It only haves chocolate, vanilla, pineapple, and red velvet. This bakery shop is ok but it's not like Maison Kayser and Martha's bakery. It has poor selections of pastries and their cakes look messed up even the ambient of this bakery shop haves less character.

After a few days in the city together, my friend and I stopped in for breakfast before parting ways. The vibe was cozy, relaxed, and welcoming, exactly what you want from a local coffee shop. The giant windows lend a ton of natural light, especially for place that almost needs to wait until midday for some sunshine. The bagels absolutely hit the spot: fresh, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. Nothing overly complicated, just solid, well-executed breakfast. They have pastries and sandwiches, as well, but your girl needed a real New York bagel before this trip was through. What really stood out for me, though, was the hot cider on special. It was warm, spiced just right, and comforting for a November morning. I could easily see this shop as a regular go-to of mine if I lived in the neighborhood.

And listen... I am a chai queen, so when someone tells me a chai is worth trying, I'm going. She kept telling me, "You're going to love this chai." She orders hers with oat milk and extra cinnamon on top, so that's exactly what I got -- and when I tell you this was one of the best chai lattes I have ever had in my entire chai-drinking life? Silky. Smooth. Perfectly spiced. Just the right amount of warmth. Just... everything. Truly a great chai. The shop itself has such a good vibe. It's not huge, but the space is cozy in the best way. If you don't mind communal seating, it's perfect for settling in with your laptop or a book. They have outlets, the ambiance is chill, and it's one of those spots where you can really get work done while still feeling comfy. I haven't tried their pastries yet, but the atmosphere and that chai alone keep me coming back. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and that's something I really appreciate -- it makes the whole experience feel even better. Built Coffee has definitely become one of our go-to spots for getting out of the house, doing work, or just sipping on something warm and delicious. And again... get the chai. TRUST ME.

This time around, I ordered it hot and asked them to ease up on the salt since last time it was very salty, they eased up on it and it was such a great latte, I was so happy with it! I've gotten the chicken and waffles twice as well! I'm a big fan of guava infused butter and got two with my order. Generally the chicken and waffles are a HIT, but the waffles tasted a bit off to me this time around. I think it could mainly be that I was focused on how surprisingly good the brussels and coffee were, that I wasn't too focused on anything else. Service is pretty ehh to me at this place. I ended up starving and looking for a place in the neighborhood for a breakfast sandwich. Rimar looked good from the outside, there were a bunch of banners announcing them as a "brand new" business having a "grand opening". Once inside, I realized that was probably not true. Looking around, I didn't see any coffee nor was there any kind of posted menu indicating the possibility of breakfast sandwiches. The man behind the counter was friendly enough though, and took my order for 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a roll. He also indicated that he DID have coffee. Great! While I was waiting in the store for 15 minutes for my order. I noticed a woman (maybe another owner) casing the place down and staring at everyone who entered. I noticed that the rest of the store sold only a bleak selection of junk food. There was nothing interesting on the shelves! I noticed a man and woman come in, have an entirely transactional conversation and then leave, buying nothing. I noticed two separate hipsters walk in, look around and then walk out. I waited and waited. Finally, my order was ready. Without any register or paper calculations, the man told me my order was $10 exactly. Not feeling too good about that. The coffee was super hot and actually ok, I think he brewed a fresh pot on my request (thank you for that). The breakfast sandwiches were pretty awful. Greasy eggs, strangely chopped and super greasy bacon, you get the picture. I think Rimar could really do much better.
