Didn't care for the breakfast sandwich I got. Pork roll, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel wasn't very good, and the sandwich was super skimpy. A couple slices of pork roll which could have been heated more, one egg, and a slice of cheese. Disappointing for the price. I think it was around $8. Coffee wasn't great either. The service was questionable, the girl at the counter seemed easily confused. First and last time for us here, there has to be better in the area. read more

I live right around the corner from this place but I hesitate to go because you never know what you're going to get. They run out of things constantly (for example this morning there were no poppy or sesame bagels left at 9am). What really gets me is they don't toast your bagel unless you specifically ask. And even if you do ask if there are more than a few people in line they will refuse to do it to save themselves time. To me there is a BIG difference between a toasted bagel and an untoasted one. They really need to add one or two staff members to speed up their service and just get rid of this no-toasting policy. However, if you hit it right and they have what you want and the line is short enough, the bagels and sandwiches are decent. You're just taking your chances... Also this place DOES NOT sell pizza. It's a shame I used to love coming here, but the staff is the last time you'll see me. The lady with the tattoo of a kids drawing of a sun on her right arm and some bat tattoos on the other should never be permitted to speak to a customer again, no matter the field she's in. Most likely would fit in cleaning toilets because her mouth is trash. Over 30 minutes for 2 plain slices so I ask what is going on & she says it will be 10 minutes, I simply said but you said that 20 minutes ago ? But, after seeing the other counter girl fail 5 times to cut the pizza hands all over it & the oven guy sweating his balls off also touching the pizza, it being 100 degrees in there I totally lost my appetite & got my money back. It was excellent but not worth $9.99. If it has been priced the same as the Italian sandwich they sell ($6.99), they would have gotten 4 stars. My friends and I came here a few days ago for the first time since last summer. From the moment we stepped inside we should have walked right back out. There was no social distancing guidelines in place, and we saw two customers come in without a mask and were not told to leave. Employees were not wearing masks, or wore them below their nose (that doesn't count!!!). The business wasn't following proper sanitation rules either. This place takes wayyyyy to long, me and my friends waited over an hour just to get bagels. Asked about it three times and they're response was that they were getting to it every time. They have two locations one in ortley and one in North Lavallette and no one should patronize either one until they clean up their act. They are allowing people in without masks and the workers are not wearing masks or gloves. I don't want to call the Board of Health but they're making it difficult not to. The kids working here are also not the friendliest but in all honesty if I had to deal with what they deal with I would be cranky too. Ripped off. Ordered 2 ham and cheese bagels. Listed on the menu at $4.65. Was asked if I wanted pork roll or deli ham. I chose deli ham. No mention that it would be extra or any discussion at all. When he charged me out they rang up at $6.75 each. I told him there must be a mistake since the listed price was 4.65. He told me it was more for deli ham when I said he should have told me that initially, he was very rude. I ended up taking the bagels since I also had had to wait a really long time and needed to be somewhere with them. They were very average. Good sandwiches but Jesus they need to get it together. They're very slow & very unorganized. The staff seem easily overwhelmed when a line forms-which does often. It takes forever to get your food. Not worth the aggravation to be honest. A jersey mikes opened across the street. If they don't get it together, I'm sure it will take most of their business. The staff seems to be comprised of a couple people who have never worked in the food service industry before. When walking in you are greated with a big sign that promotes cheeseburgers and meatball subs. I order 2 meatball subs they came in over an whelming large wedge that made it look like I had just received a bread sandwich but upon inspection and dissection there seemed to be a meatball between the bread. 3 microwave reheated meatballs no cheese and sauce that was probably applicator by a eye dropper. I had to ask for extra sauce to give this terrible sandwich some flavor and when I asked for some the rude lady gave me a look as if I had 4 heads. I looked around for a name on this building so I could give this place a terrible review and could not even be sure as to what it was since the building itself says 3 different names and a sign displaying bland specials outside had one more name. Great bagels! My husband is a Brooklyn guy, so he knows good bagels! Whenever we visit my parents in Ortley, we get Bakin Bagels. Plain, wheat, blueberry, onion and salt varieties all get high marks from my family. And they're often still hot when we pick them up. The coffee, though.... Pass! read more

I went here twice this year because I stayed in New jersey for 4 days. The first time I went it took them forever to make 3 egg sandwiches. The 2nd time I went we asked for the same thing. We had to tell them atleast 4-5 times our order before they actually made it. It was also a long wait at a not so crowded time. I was with a few other people and one of them also ordered a bacon egg and cheese and they put ham on it instead of tomatoes. He asked for a new one because they made a mistake. The new one he got was also wrong but he still ate it because who would want to wait in line AGAIN. The egg sandwiches were good though and I enjoyed them, I've tasted better but they were good enough. Also this place is pretty expensive for what you get. I will return since it is the closest deli to where I usually stay in New Jersey but these complaints have to be solved please. read more

Long wait for bacon and egg on bagel. Had to ask twice for coffee. Lady at counter was resistant to let me fix my coffee. Kept telling me she would do it and then finally relented and let me do so. WHY??? If I'm paying, why not??? Waited 20 min for sandwich and eggs and bacon were overdone and cold. Bagel was OK. My friend ordered lox cream cheese spread on her bagel and you needed a magnifying glass to see lox. Both sandwiches were overpriced. Won't be back. The blond woman at the counter was rude - she handed me two coffees but couldn't distinguish between the two so she just handed me two identical coffees, she gave me the wrong bagels and I had to ask for my sandwich that I could see was sitting on the back counter.
