Good sandwich spot in the Lavallette / ortley / seaside area. The cold sandwiches are MASSIVE and stuffed to the max. We had a classic Italian and a make your own sandwich with the made in house roast beef. The chicken parm was on the smaller side but the curlets were very crispy, it was cheesy and the sauce was good. read more

i had seen vito's online & was interested to try them. the sandwiches are HUGE, so the price is on point for the portion size. the meat is cut fresh per order which only took a few minutes of waiting when i ordered in the store. the meat is very tasty and the fresh mozzarella with the balsamic glaze added to my OG italian was the move! i was expecting a more crusty italian bread from photos online - but it was nice bread even though it was a bit softer than expected. vito's carries coke and herr's products (thank god) 4 starts because the cashier handled my cash transaction - then proceeded to handle my sandwich without washing her hands or putting gloves on after handling cash and touching her phone and the register. hopefully this is not the normal practice and was just an over site. read more

Been to Vito's several times, first time had the Cheesesteak ( one of the best I ever had). This time thought I'd try something else. Ordered the Parmigiana with Chicken, was very disappointed. Look like it was well done meat / not much dressing very disappointed ...and two sandwiches of prosciutto and mozzarella look like they were made by a 10 year old...The prosciutto was rolled like a tootsie roll with a couple pieces of mottz inside , extremely disappointed... went last year semi disappointed figured I'd give them another shot this year. Great family run business; the newest deli in the area and I must say their food is fantastic. The place is near my family's shore house in Ortley making it super convenient. Tried this place now a few times and love it. Very clean, friendly staff and delicious sandwiches. Look forward to using them for catering. The owners are such nice people so glad there is a new deli in the area....I recommend Vito's to anybody who enjoys good food. read more

We had a family reunion week at the beach and got dinner platters from Vito's twice. They were short staffed, but the family kept in touch with us the whole time and everything was delicious. Vito was extremely friendly and threw in some extra sides and Italian ice for the kids. Highly recommended! In all, my family was in the area for five weeks and most restaurants acted like they were doing you a favor to sell you over priced low quality food. I've had quite a few of the items here, Cheesesteak Gimabotta, The Anytime, 12th Street, Down Neck, Milanese, Old School Italian, and The Stoop. Greeted friendly every time, everything down there is tremendous. The bread is off the charts good, you can tell everything is done with love and care in the food that is served. Unfortunately we cannot go back to Vitos. The guy was sweating profusely while slicing cold cuts. He does keep a rag slung over his shoulder to blot his wet brow however, he is touching his sweaty rag WHILE slicing my order. Disgusting. He should be in the back of the house where no one can see him. AND the owner does not even know how to properly slice and package prosciutto. He bunches it up in a big glob that cannot be separated. On a previous visit, another guy was eating something while he was slicing my cold cuts. Equally as disgusting. I will have to continue to make the long drive to Pastosa for my Italian specialties. read more

Picked up sandwiches for lunch after reading the reviews and I guess I had the wrong people making my order. I ordered eggplant sandwiches. The bread was stale and could they spare the eggplant?? I would of rather had them tell me they were all out. I don't mind spending $$ on something good but they are at least 15.00 a sandwich. This place is HORRIBLE !!! We ordered 2 sandwiches which cost $32 and change. The first sandwich was a eggplant parm which had 1 slice of eggplant and barely any cheese on stale bread. The second sandwich was eggplant, mozzarella, peppers, and arugula, once again 1 slice of eggplant, a couple little pieces of mozzarella, a few pepper, and a couple strands of arugula on stale bread.
