After an examination Dr. Lam told me 'your vision is pretty good but we will fine tune it'. This was the downfall of my vision. After the second adjustment my vision was completely different. The distance and reading vision did not match as before. We did a third adjustment and the results were different again. The distance vision was good and matched. I had little intermediate vision and poor reading vision. At this point I could do a fourth adjustment but had no guarantee of improved results. I decided to do the lock in knowing that at least my distance would be good. When I told DR. Lam that the first adjustment was the best, he snapped at me and said it was do to it being a new lens. His diagnosis have been consistently complete and accurate over the years. And he tells you the truth in a very compassionate way. I have Stage IV cancer and the meds I take are accelerating cataract progression. Dr. Ros diagnosed the problem some time ago and has been monitoring the changes. He recently scheduled the cataract removal surgery. He told me that cataracts are the one disease I'm experiencing that medical science can cure 100%. I love that, especially since Stage IV cancer is not considered curable. Dr. Ros knew exactly what I needed to hear to put me at ease about the surgery and he took the time to talk about it. His kindness is not limited to his patients. I've come into his office several times to find that his receptionist had her child there with her because her sitter let her down. Not many bosses would allow their employee to bring their child to work even in an emergency. He even set up an area where the little one could play with various toys he had in the office. When he came into the reception area between patients, he'd toss the toddler in the air to make her laugh. So not only is he a great doctor but he's a great human being as well.

Right now I am still able to see my desired physician, usually at a convenient time, for me. However, the wait times are getting longer and there are times when a patient has to go sit in the hall because the waiting room is completely filled. Keep in mind, it always takes 2 to 3 hours per visit so I don't want to see reviews with people complaining about having to wait. I am not sure if there are ever 2 physicians present to provide care. It has grown from 2 physicians to 8 and 1 of the original physicians is no longer there. I will keep you posted about the quality of care provided.

Odd since the only info you need for an appointment is the patient's name and birth date. The remaining "personal" information would be the policy holder of the insurance which would be me. Pretty sure my 21 YO doesn't know who the insurer is, my birth date or the last four of my SSN which is what they need to submit the insurance claim. Not sure that the less than user friendly staff understands the concept of HIPAA in this context. I am the person providing all the of the "personal" information. Never been told I couldn't make an appointment for someone in my family because of HIPAA. Happy to take my business elsewhere.
