I loved the vibe and look of the Bayalage Boutique the second I walked in. The receptionist was super friendly and helped me right away, putting me in a chair [and offering me a beverage], and Camille was already heading in my direction. Gotta love swift service! I had a lovely little mimosa, which was a nice surprise, and it was super tasty! My hairdresser was Camille. Camille is super friendly, a fun conversationalist, an extremely talented hairdresser, and overall a wonderful person! I am so happy I decided to give her a try when I needed a new stylist. Camille did my hair EXACTLY how I wanted, and to top it off, she gives a killer head massage after washing your hair. Sooooo relaxing and lovely, and not the super short little head rub that leaves you wanting more. On top of giving me perfect highlights, Camille gave me a haircut that kept the length like I wanted, but framed my face a bit and got rid of my split ends. I'm extremely pleased with how the haircut turned out! I am just so satisfied with my hair. I walked into the salon in a cranky, PMSey mood, and left on cloud nine with a smile on my face. She has a new regular customer in me! One thing I noticed was that every one of their customers who came in while I was there absolutely adored the ladies here. That's always a great sign when trying out a new business! There was a ton of laughing and giggling and salon gossip that I enjoyed eavesdropping on lol. They are a little pricey, but some things are worth paying a little extra for, and I would rather pay a little more once, than pay less and have to pay more after to fix a cheap hair job! I have no words for their bad service, I wanted to have balayage what they did to my hair first orange from top green from ends when I asked to fix it they turn my hair dark and still when I wasn't got the real result they told me that this salon isn't for me thats how they treated me , they don't even know anything close to balayage, I ended up paying double and get my hair fixed from another wonderful salon , so so disappointed waist of money and time I would rate them 0 short story I went there for balayage and ended up having chunky two tone highlights yes I wanted to love it out of courtesy when they asked I said yes I love it but when I came home I saw it was not even close to balayage and wanted to get fixed they turned it dark lost all dimensions oh my God who would call that real balayage, end of story I have two tone chunky bleached balayage, never ever recommend this place . read more

The overall experience was wonderful - I felt pampered and taken care of, I just wish the bill wasn't so much. While my original stylist was great, Andrea is a magician she does an incredible job taking my dark brown hair to a beautiful blonde balayage. Recently I decided to explore extensions. I wasn't sure if I was ready to commit so she recommended a halo to see how I like it and I ended up wearing it every single time I left my house. From there I decided to commit to the hand tied extensions. Andrea and her team went above and beyond to ensure I got the perfect length and she actually blended the color with my regular balayage service. I was recently on a girls trip with some new girl friends and they had no idea that I had extensions, they thought I just had really good hair. **I'm going to preface this by saying this has NOTHING to do with the quality of work and everything to do with bad business** This place is the worst. I get into a car accident about 45 minutes prior to my appointment and have the courtesy to call and let them know I wouldn't make it and the first thing out of their mouth is "well is the car drivable?" Not "are you okay" nothing. And then proceeds to tell me that I will have to pay the 100% cancellation fee. Because I asked to be in a car accident!!!! Then says "oh well you can come in at 3 and we won't charge you." Like I JUST got into an accident and am on the side of the road waiting on insurance and towing and they are more concerned about a cancellation fee? $300 for absolutely nothing. I even asked if they could put the $300 towards a rescheduled appointment because I NEEDED to get my hair done and was told no. I understand the cancellation policy of 48 hours and I completely understand and respect the stylist's time and had I been given ANY other choice I would have made it right. They act like I planned to get into a car accident. The behavior I experienced today was downright cold and disgusting. I should have paid attention to all of the other reviews instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt. Shame on yall. read more

Found this balayage bar off of Groupon​ and I'm so pleased to have finally found such an experienced salon full of knowledgeable​ staff who don't let you leave the salon unhappy!! It's conveniently located in the heart of downtown McKinney, with plenty of parking spots right across the street. Booked an appointment through Yelp but by mistake,​ I booked it for the day after and showed up on the wrong day. The receptionist said they couldn't take us, just what we expected but the owner Andrea came in, really quick wanted to know what we wanted and was super considerate to still take care of us even after showing up on the wrong day. They have a really cute boutique inside selling clothes, jewelry​, ​and accessories for​ quite​ a​ reasonable price so must check that out as well! Holly, one of the stylists there that care of us, is THE BEST at what she does and she's the GODDESS for Balayage! The whole process took about 3.5 hours which included full balayage, conditioning, and styling. Her work is PHENOMENAL and FLAWLESS! The picture we showed her she was able to pull off that exact look. No suggestion needed, no doubts placed and no ifs & buts throughout the whole process. In conclusion, I don't need a salon in Atlanta. McKinney being my hometown, I feel like I have finally found my salon after moving away after 10 years of being here. I came here in December with dark brown hair that i had be dying a lot over the past few years but the stylist acted as though it was no big deal for the balayage i wanted. She kept going over to other stylist and leaving me there. I sat in my bleach for hours. Which was fine i expected it to be a long day once she was finally done running between me and another client. I would definitely not recommend. I went to them wanting subtle highlights with chocolate brown tone. The stylist, Leslie was not trained correctly in order to perform the desired hair color and haircut I requested. I had to go and get my hair fixed elsewhere. They offered to have the same hairstylist redo my hair, but why would I have her touch my hair again?! My hair was fried! They let me walk out of there with my hair looking this way. This was not a cheap service. I also paid for a Brazilian blowout that day. Never again. read more

After switching my stylist without notice and my bill totaling nearly $200 (partial balayage and toner, which is a JOKE because it's incredibly brassy now and wasn't before), I expected my hair not to be ruined. I hate to give this place such a bad review!!! I have been seeing Dariyana for years and followed her from another salon, and have been going to this salon for months and am a regular customer. btw: Dariyana is fabulous and I will miss going to her! Today I called to schedule an appt w/ her and was told by the girl who answered the phone that they needed my cc # on file in case I no showed, which I have never done. I am a person of integrity and would never do that to anyone! I spoke to the mgr who was very curt w/ me and said that's the policy, but that I had never asked prior! As a regular customer I found it offensive as somehow I was being punished.... rather than being valued!!! I told her that I do not feel comfortable w/ my cc # floating around and i was promptly told that was their policy, what terrible customer service for a regular customer who has always followed their polices to call 3 days in advance to cancel!!! They have lost a valued customer over a cc#!!! I've never heard of such terrible running of a business. My husband is a business coach and speaker and he was appalled, this is NOT how to treat valued customers!!! Again I highly recommend Dariyana, but cannot recommend this salon!!! read more

I wanted SO badly to be happy with my hair and to give a 5-star review. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I came in with a Groupon for a partial balayage and a picture of what I had in mind. I was told that a partial would not get me there 100%, but that the colors would be the same, just less of the shocking red streaks. She told me I needed to have my auburn refreshed at the roots and underneath to get the look and that there was a $20 charge for the toner, so it was an additional $90 on top of the Groupon. I agreed and proceeded to have my hair colored for 3 hours. After the 3 hours and the shampoo, my hair looked exactly like it does when I use the boxed color I have been using for the last 7 years. No streaks, no vibrant red, just a full head of auburn hair. I contacted the salon when I got home and told them that I was not happy with the outcome. They scheduled me to come in a few days later to have it corrected. THIS WAS WHERE I WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME! I went back to the same stylist, Madalyn, who spent 2 hours completely destroying my hair. I asked for a vibrant red balayage and I got a bleached blond, orange streaked, completely FRIED mess. I literally could not go back in public without putting a temporary color on it to cover the destruction. I contacted the salon, AGAIN, and was told that I could COME BACK to have it corrected, AGAIN. Obviously I declined and asked for my money back. I was told, and I quote, "that is against our company policy", but that they had fired the stylist who did my hair for other reasons, not just my situation. So, you admit that the job was sub-par, to the point that you fired an employee, but you won't make it right for the customer? I don't think I'm crazy for not wanting to return a 3rd time after what had been done to my hair. That was not an acceptable solution. Fool me once and all that... Holly, the manager, even had to nerve to say that my attempts to deep condition could be what caused the damage! That was right before she offered to "throw in" a deep conditioning treatment when I came back in. Does that make sense? Oh, AND apparently the red color I picked was only supposed to last 2-3 shampoos, according to Holly. Don't you think this should have been mentioned at my appointment? Would anyone pay over $200 for a color that lasts less than a week? After all of it, I had to have 8 INCHES cut off of my length that I had been growing out for the last several years. The wonderful professional (see DS Hair Studio) who cuts my hair said there was nothing that could be done to save the damaged part. She may have been as mad as I was! The moral of the story is RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! It seems they are good at cuts (according to reviews) but HORRIBLE at balayage (which is in the name of the salon??), and even worse at customer service.
