I was even happier when I returned the car and they gave me a ride to the car dealer I had selected. A few minutes after they had dropped me off, I realized I had left my phone in the rental car. I called and spoke with Alice at Enterprise and she confirmed that she had the phone and that they would be open for about another hour. I thought I would have plenty of time to get there before they closed, but when things started to take longer than expected at the car dealership I called Alice and told her I would pick up the phone in the morning. That's when she cheerily said "Don't worry, I will bring it to you now!" I have always been satisfied when renting from Enterprise, but Alice's extra effort really made my night. Due to its high Yelp reviews and low prices I chose Alamo and I believe I made the right decision based on this trip. After you get your luggage, follow the signs and eventually you will end up across the skywalk in the car rental area. There was a bit of a line but eventually we made it to the front and we were given a booklet with our info on it. From there, you proceed into the garage and Alamo is on the 5th floor. We paid about $500 for a 5-day rental and we had selected a standard SUV, which was marked as being a Ford Edge or equivalent. I'm not sure if they were out of the standard SUVs that day or something but they ended up giving us a Ford Explorer instead, which was rather huge but a super nice car; it had adaptive cruise control, navigation, and tons of legroom. To return the car yesterday, we followed the signs off of Post Rd. or you can plug in Alamo's address into your GPS, and you drive the car back into the garage, an employee scans it, and you gather your things from the car and walk back across the skywalk into the terminal. Very easy. Based on this experience I would definitely rent from Alamo again, specifically this location if I was in town.

My most recent experience at TF Green Airport was particularly memorable thanks to Madeline. I arrived around 11:30 PM on a Sunday night after a long day of travel. Despite the late hour, Madeline was friendly, professional, engaging, and genuinely pleasant to work with. She explained everything clearly and invited me to choose from several vehicles in the category I had reserved. The process was quick, easy, and stress-free. Six days later, I returned to drop off the vehicle. To my surprise, the agent checking me in was Madeline. As soon as she approached the car, I recognized her and said, "I remember you." She smiled and replied, "I remember you, too." Then came the moment that truly impressed me. She looked at me and said my name. When I asked if she remembered it, she first jokingly guessed incorrectly and then immediately said, "Jonathan." After six days and countless customers, somehow she remembered me. In a world where so many customer interactions feel rushed and impersonal, that level of attentiveness stood out. It wasn't just impressive--it was genuine. Madeline made me feel like a valued customer, not just another rental agreement. We landed and no one is at the counter to help us to get a car. We're now stranded here just like other customers that had reservations are. Their automated system even says that they track your flight and stay two hours after your flight which is false.

The drop off area is in the garage so everyone was just lining the cars up in the marked area and leaving the keys inside. I received an accurate receipt less than an hour later. The car rental garage is connected to the airport by a long enclosed skywalk and it was open. Expect a 5-10 minute walk. I had picked up at a different location and didn't know if there would be an issue with early drop off or getting to the airport afterwards. I attempted to clarify by calling and ultimately had to visit the location as they didn't answer my calls. I hope this review helps anyone else who has the same concerns.

We get to hertz and there's two guys inside, with a line wrapped around the parking lot back into the terminal. Averaging a full 15-20 minutes per customer, it took us over two hours to get our car. Even though I filled out the pre-pickup forms, verified my license and identity, and uploaded my card inorder to 'skip the line' as advertised, it made no difference. My first time using them was in San…read moreFrancisco, because they cost a hundred bucks less than the competitors for a week-long rental; the tradeoff was that the pickup and dropoff were located "off airport." It turned out to be a great tradeoff. Here, the price was still less than the major brands, but only by about $20; however, there was no tradeoff, as all of the rental counters and cars, including Advantage's, are located "on airport." All you have to do is walk about five minutes from the terminal, all indoors. No shuttle, no waiting. At pickup (Sunday afternoon), we waited about ten minutes for the single customer ahead of us in line. There was only one clerk--Ed, who gives great service. We finished the transaction in about eight minutes. We then walked a few steps to the garage and were in our car and on our way in less than three more minutes. Dropoff was even easier (Saturday afternoon), as we drove the car into the garage and got checked out by the attendant in about three minutes. Then we waited five minutes in line for a printed receipt, although they offer the option of dropping one's paperwork at the counter and getting an emailed receipt. Both ends of the transaction couldn't have been easier or more pleasant, the car was a-okay, and the price was right. I appreciate any business that reduces the stress in my travel experience. Advantage is likely to be my first rental choice from now on.

The young man at the counter was respectful and friendly. Service was fast. I paid online thru Priceline so all I had to put was a $100 security with a major credit card. I did have my own insurance so I was able to opt out of theirs. Mileage was unlimited. One thing I did like which I have never experienced with another rental company was that they allow you to pick your own in my case SUV from a row available which I must honestly will say was tough to chose. Two things I did not like was no XM radio nor do they have the option of charging a daily fee for unlimited tolls. I was going to NYC so not having the option meant they would bill me for all tolls I went thru. They do have the option of paying a gas charge of $2.95 a gallon if you don't want to fill the car on return. The return process was also smooth. I would like to acknowledge Jack and Darrian one took care of me at the check in counter and the other helped me when I was looking at the vehicle options to choose. I would rent from them again if it's a local rental that has no tolls.

Bottom Line: Located at the airport with an easy to rent and easy to return process for Avis…read morePreferred. One of the advantages to the Providence Airport being small is that the car rentals are right on site, albeit a long walk from the terminal (probably a half mile or so). Even though this is a small-ish Avis location they are still set up to have a rental counter in the airport and an Avis Preferred customer counter in the parking garage. They use the digitized board for Preferred members so you can just look for your name and parking spot number, jump in your car and go. For returns it is super nice that there is a Sunoco gas station right next door. As noted above, it's about a half mile or so walk from the terminal to Avis. The entire path is all indoors via escalators and moving walk ways through a pedestrian bridge but if that is too taxing for you ask for a courtesy ride on a golf-cart/electric vehicle. The pedestrian bridge dumps you out on the third floor of the parking garage and then it is one last escalator ride to Avis on the fourth floor.
