Really after the purchase of the store by Safeway chain the service is disgusting very nasty unfriended especially on checkout there are two Ethiopian employees very unfriendly and helpful and I asked where's the pepper for for the salad you know you bought the open salad bar yeah we didn't have pepper what do you mean the Wegmans they have a olive oil right there when you you eat you bought the stuff from your salad bar why you don't have it it is nasty place and this business is going to go out to a business because McLean Virginia people deserve better enter this is long time resident of McLean have a wonderful town since 1989 the service was never so bad like today all of the stores Safeway Giant Balducci has a problem with the service and quality and the prices went up so much but you don't deliver what you charge for shame on your

    gross especially for the price.

My husband and I were doing Instacart and one of the batches sent us to this location. We will never accept another batch from this store. I went over to the lady cashier over at the self checkout to simply ask, "Where can I find certain items?" She helped me with a few things, however when I couldn't find another items, I went back over to ask a female customer who looked as if she shopped there frequently and the male cashier that I later learned is named, "Ryan," was insanely rude. As I was speaking with the customer and she gave me insight as to where I may find the items I'm seeking, "Ryan" blurted out, "I'm busy!! Go ask someone else!!" I expressed to the young man that I wasn't talking to him. The lady cashier that assisted me earlier tried to make excuses for the young man and I am simply not having it. I also didn't like the fact that the male Hispanic employee kept following me and my husband around the store. Hindsight, based on the other stores we've shopped at doing Instacart, Balducci's is trash.

I think it's time I post this review. This store is ok with overcharging customets but they are not ok when you point out issues like moldy veggies and fruits. We got butternut squash today and it was covered with mold. Not the first time. Shame on the management. They do not care about customers satisfaction.

Hot bar + cold bar food - shrimp salad, potato salad, chicken wings, Mac and cheese, meatballs, quich, beans, tomato cucumber salad, dolmeh.

I visit balducci's seldom for their hot bar and fresh foods. They have a variety of items. They also have fresh pizza which is pretty good. For groceries, I tend to stay away given the prices. Their fresh bar is about 12-13/lb for both cold and hot items. They switch this up daily. I love that it's different every time I go. My favorite item on the hot bar is their quiche. It's so good! I also do love the dolmeh from the cold bar. They also do have prepared foods but last time we got a meal with 2 sides, it was almost $30. I remember during Covid they had better deals that ran about $14-15. Overall, I recommend, just be wary it can be pricier. Parking is also easy in a lot and this is located in downtown McLean. Note, if you go around a busier holiday it will be busy and hectic.

Balducci's is a high end grocery store. They have a wide selection of quality items from sushi to hot prepared food to chopped liver and everything in-between. I bought prepared salmon sushi but if you don't see what you want on display, just ask. It's all fresh.

Love their fresh baked goods, produce, hot bar, and healthy prepared foods with more vegan options. They also have these $2 snack packs, which comes in handy with the kids. This Wegmans is much smaller and more compact with a neighborhood vibe rather than the traditional larger store (there's a small bar area and food court). Wegmans has really expanded their vegan and vegetarian prepared food options this year - the juicy Eggplant Parm is delicious! It has become my weekly staple! While the Butter Paneer is quite sweet, I appreciate the diversity of ethnic foods. The Veggie Lasagna is a bit soggy. The Vegan Cobb Salad, Kale Mushroom Tofu Salad, Kung Pao Tofu Bowl, and Vegan Sushi are quite good! The new Truffle Veggies and Portobello Mushroom Pizzas in prepackaged food trays are perfect for roasting veggies, you just throw the tray in the oven! The food court has a few stations - sandwiches, pizza, and burgers and closes around 8pm (salad and poke bowls were discontinued). The veggie burger is quite good, as well as the classic fries and sweet potato fries. The Truffle Mushroom Pizza is delicious! There's an Asian hot bar with Chinese food and a wing station. The crispy tofu in spicy soy sauce is delicious! There's also a bar with pretty good drinks, the Lycheetini was delicious! Wegman's has the best grocery store bakery with super adorable sugar cookies, seasonal caramel apple cake and pumpkin cakes are delicious, other favorites include oegy gooey chocolate chip cookies, Oreo cheesecake, peanut butter cheesecake, summer fruit tarts, chocolate covered strawberry, and moist strawberry shortcake. The seasonal maple donut, strawberry and blueberry cobbler donuts are delicious. The fluffy croissants and Jalapeno Cheddar bagels are quite tasty too! While the baked goods are generally pretty fresh, they are made every other day Including some of the cookies. Free parking without validation up to 2 hours now. There's also cute green grocery carts for kids. You can get digital coupons on the app. I've been able to save over $50 from the mail and digital coupons! Can't wait to come back tomorrow!

They have a variety of things, food, drinks, sushi, snacks, cosmetics, toys. There were also SO many small toy vending machines. It was very cool to see so many options. There was also a cafe and restaurant in the back. The cafe was popping and the line was long for their matcha. The restaurant was actually such a LET DOWN. I was expecting authentic Japanese food, but the portions were small and the meals were pricer $15+ and not that special. Beef udon: regular and I could've made it at home Beef rice bowl: their top pick, the beef was not tender, and it was dry. Really simple but not good. Oddly enough, they had the tiniest water cup that you can pour for yourself. It was like 2 gulps. I also tried some drinks. They have an assortment of Moshi brand drinks in a can. They are expensive, but so so good. The strawberry matcha was my FAV. We also tried their milk coffee in a can, it tastes like what you'd expect from coffee in a can.

UNI IKURA RICE BOWL - 29.99 This was one of the current specials, and I love uni so I couldn't resist. There wasn't a whole lot of uni or ikura (half of the bowl was more so decoration items like sprouts, ginger, a whole leaf, and wasabi) with lots of rice underneath. The rice was the perfect texture, and after seasoning it a bit with some soy sauce, it was just right. The uni wasn't the most fresh, but the ikura was decent. Overall, good, but just not worth the price for what you get. My friend got a tonkatsu curry rice, a croquette appetizer, and a slice of cream roll cake for $5 less than how much I spent on my single uni ikura rice bowl. The tonkatsu curry rice was quite good, and only $14.98, which is really good for today's economy. If I'm ever back for the food, I'll definitely get the tonkatsu.

I was able to leave with some beautiful options, including some flowers I've never heard of, to create some gorgeous bouquets to decorate the house. First, the seafood steamer is never working. I have even called ahead to confirm it was operational, only to arrive and find that it wasn't. Second, there never seems to be enough staff working the checkout lanes. Regardless of the day or time, even during busy evening hours, customers are often forced to use self-checkout. On my most recent visit, I had a very large order and was still directed to self-checkout. It took an unreasonable amount of time to complete my purchase because I needed repeated assistance with machine and scanning errors. I understand that self-checkout is a convenience for some shoppers, but it should not be the only practical option for customers with large orders. I am a customer, not a grocery store employee, and I shouldn't have to struggle through checking out an entire cart of groceries myself. Safeway has a great location in a wonderful neighborhood, but the customer service and overall customer experience need significant improvement. I would love to support this store, but it feels like customer convenience and satisfaction are not a priority.
