The nighttime manager, Darrell, at this Harris Teeter tonight (at exactly 11 pm, when the store officially closes), showed me mercy tonight. I am extremely thankful good people (Good Samaritans, if you will) like Darrell still exist in the world. I'd rather not share my personal reasons for needing to go to "my neighborhood grocery store" at 11 pm on a Monday night, especially with it being a national holiday today. It really was supposed to be a day of rest for ourselves and our families alike, but amazing people like the day-time managers even - who must've been exhausted at that point with such a long day for themselves too - and Darrell, chose to show me grace. Thank you, so much for the gift of people like the nighttime manager Darrell (and his team stocking shelves through the night, what a thankless, and extremely necessary job!) and the daytime team too for being a genuinely good "neighborhood" for me tonight. The garage facility servicing this store is sickening. The floor is covered with garbage, trash, cigarette butts, and assorted filth. There is an open sewer pipe dripping raw sewage. The garage is not cleaned or maintained. I have made the store management aware of this problem some time ago, and nothing has been done about it. Depends on the sale. Every once in awhile, Harris Teeter has unbelievable deals. Then again a broken clock, tells the time twice a day. This is actually a really nice store. Environmentally friendly frozen section, plus the overall set up, is solid in so many aspects. Parking is convenient too. Located in the heart of mosaic is also a plus I must say they have an exceptional deli section. Yes it's expensive but the quality is there. Also as a last second place to grab flowers for a lady, I tip my cap in appreciation. Plenty of employees on duty, and the store is very clean. Biggest issue is the prices, which is higher than some, but glad it's not Whole Foods. If in the area a good place to shop. read more

Just slipped and fell on their floor that had poorly wiped up Yogurt on it. I called out for help, but after 5 minutes a Spanish speaking person came outta of nowhere to mop the floor. I love the fact that I can order online and pick up at the Vienna Harris Teeter. This store is very close to me, and I get very good service and shopping with ease (online). One time they even gave me free hot dog rolls because I forgot to order them when I placed my order. It takes me a long time to do it online because I'm not very good with the computer (in that sense), but it keeps my frustration factor of searching for things in the store to a minimum. read more

People give 1 star reviews over grocery store pizza. It's grocery store pizza in Fairfax county. Harris Teeter is my closest option to Kroger and In my opinion a far better option than the staff at Safeway or the marked up prices at Giant. Sure shop at Wegmans and pay $30 for that same pizza! Get a free HT VIC card and watch for sales. Some days I've saved $50. Multiple buy one get one offers. Produce is hit or miss but it's also hard to get good watermelon anywhere in January. read more

So, if you have a habit of not taking your wallet with you or if you just prefer using the most secure form of credit payment, dodge this Harris Teeter. This place would be top of my list...if I were a raccoon looking to stock up on rotting garbage. The produce section is sprinkled with moldy fruit, with stacks of decomposing veggies on top of sticky shelves. Even shelf stable items like onions and potatoes are covered in flies and have gone squishy and discolored. Refrigerated case is just as bad. Greens are crushed and wilted, and "fresh" dips like salsa, hummus, queso, etc. are frequently past their expiration dates (almost impressive when you think of the extended shelf life of many of these things). Every time I shop here for anything fresh I regret it. It's an absolute smorgasbord of decomposing filth. Due either to poor cooling or the way they are displayed, the refrigerated or frozen items in the meat/deli/protein area are frequently warm/thawing. Not safe at all, unless you dig way to the bottom/back. I come here reluctantly because the location is so convenient and the packaged groceries are usually okay. But despite the added cost and inconvenience, lately I've found myself driving to whole foods most weekends rather than walking down the street to this rodent's oasis. read more

Visited the Harris Teeter in Dunn Losing (near where Prosperity ends at I-66) on a Wednesday afternoon. The large store wasn't too busy at that time. This location is on the ground floor of a multistory building. There is a drive-in garage connected by a covered walkway. Nice fresh produce in the well stocked section which includes a large selection of precut, time saving veggies ready for a quick dinner. The Dell is well stocked featuring Boars Head Provisions. Mike knows his products, offers great advice, and provides superior customer service. The deli has a sandwich menu for fresh made and ready to go sandwiches. The fresh meat and seafood department also has a lot of prepared, ready to cook offerings. However a recent reset of the packaged lunch meats and hot dogs has eliminated several items including Sabretts brand all-natural skinless all beef uncured hot dogs. So if you are looking for the best hot dogs in the market, you won't find them at Harris Teeter. (Sabretts is the brand served by the vast majority of hot dog stands everywhere.) This store has a large cheese section and makes fresh pizzas by the slice. To go with the cheese, there is a wine and beer section which takes up a lot of real estate! This store seems to cater to the smaller family or apartment dweller. It has lots of prepared foods and it also stocks smaller sized versions of products. It still has many of the southern regional products of it's North Carolina-based parent company, Kroger. This Harris Teeter has one of the largest checkout sections I have seen- like the number of checkout lines that you *wish* Costco or BJ's had! In addition to more than 10 cashier stations, there is a whole bank of easy to access self checkouts - not a small corral area. A great idea. Overall a great shopping experience. No masks are required for people who are vaccinated. read more

Super convenient location for a grocery store. Situated right by a metro station, this grocery store is also embedded in an apartment complex. There's ample garage parking, which is different from the typical parking lot, and it's free for two hours. The checkout options include the cashiers and self service kiosks. MMMBop is playing... My God it's only 7:35pm. The younger generation has no idea how annoying this song got back in the day. I think it surpassed Hootie and the Blowfish's Only Wanna Be With You song...that was annoying too. The thing about this Harris Teeter is this... it is located right by the Dunn Loring Metro Station and it is open 24 hour 7 days a week. Also, there are apartments built around the store which make this place very convenient for the residents and commuters. I don't know if you can own these apartment or if they are merely for renting only. Whatever the case is...renting would be more expensive. This Harris Teeter is very clean and organized. Infact, if you look around the store, there are signs that back up this statement. The signs says Always Clean and Always Organized. I would say Harris Teeter and Wagman's go head to head in the clean and organized department. I have even seen two employees wearing The Baltimore Ravens attire. This just kicked this review up to a six star rating. The staff were cheerful, but none more cheerful that the dude wearing the Baltimore Ravens winter cap. I met a woman named Jan... who seemed to be down in the doldrums. She could not remember what I ordered after telling her 5 seconds ago. Okay, I will repeat myself..."I would like to order a whole deluxe pizza". Everyone a bad day, and maybe I caught it with her at that time. She did make my order and tried smiling in the end. Apparently at this Harris Teeter, you can't customize your pizza. Pity, because there were some nice options I had in mind. Minus one star. Maybe a policy was changed about pizzas being customized. This Harris Teeter even has a lounge area where you can heat up your food and sit down to eat. There are two big screen TVs in the front and back of the lounge area so everyone can see what's going on. Baltimore Ravens fans will be happy to watch the game when it comes on. This is store is a well oiled machine and I think it will go far. Hell, if you remember the grocery stores from the 80's you would be appalled. Your new website is the most confusing, most impossible website in the history of websites. Your old site with bad and the new one is way worse! Trying to get things from My List to My Cart is ridiculous! You have items in your circular that there is no way to send directly to My Cart. Why? When I am at your store I cannot bring up my cart while shopping. You should be embarresed of the poor quality of your website. Sounds like you could use a new IT Department! Great layout, although it was a bit difficult to find the entrance! If you're new to the area , the entrance is in the middle of the mixed use building, not on Gallows Rd, but off of Prosperity. Everything you could need is here, including a Pharmacy. This is a large Harris Teeter, I wish the one in my home town had such a layout. This facility is very convenient for the condos dwellers that live above, its adjacent to the Courtyard Marriott , Dunn Loring, which is excellent for business/leisure travelers. Their sushi department is very stingy and overpriced. My sushi had such thin pieces of salmon on them that I couldn't tell much difference between a pickled ginger and the salmon... plus, their rice is very soggy and sweet... and they charge restaurant prices for that! You're better off going to the Passion Fin for actual sushi! read more

Since we've moved to the Mosaic District, the grocery options were limited. Mom's is pricey and their selection is limited, so I would typically venture to the Safeway in Pan Am Plaza or the Giant in Loehmann's Plaza. Since moving, I've been eagerly waiting for the opening of this Harris Teeter. They use energy efficient LED lighting for any groceries placed in fridges that light up as you're going through the aisle. I've not partaken in their hot bar but I've tried their sushi once when I was on a crunch for dinner and it was pretty good (especially for grocery store sushi). If you don't have a VIC Card, get one! It only took us 2 minutes to sign up for one. There's plenty of parking in the garage, and there's a meter with a button you push for a 2 hour max parking limit (FYI: There's an arrow that points to which spot you're pushing the button for) read more

Yes, I'm a fan of H&T, founded in my home state of NC. This new location offers great convenience to this dense urban hood. The floor plan is very different than other stores. Mainly the large number of self checkout lines. I like that it has a large asian self-service food bar as well as salad bar well stocked with lots of fresh fruit. Somewhat light on the pasta choices as compared to other locations. It has a large adjacent parking deck that offers free parking and a covered walkway. This is a great grocery store! I live in the neighborhood and mainly use HT for my grocery shopping. They have some great deals, like buy 2 get 3 free and when you sign up for their e-VIC program you get some awesome deals (sometimes including free things) each week! They have a great variety of products and fresh produce, the store is clean, and the employees are nice and helpful. Try their freshly made pizzas - they are delicious and all of them are $7.99 on Mondays (or they have a pizza of the week that is $7.99 all week). I've tried their ExpressLane grocery pickup which was fairly seamless and a nice timesaver! read more

Upset that this Harris Teeter thinks a 4 hour window is not enough time for them to pull an order for pick up. I spent about 30 min selecting items. At 11:30 I tried to place my order for pick up at 3:30-4pm and it refused to let me place the order. I cancelled my order and am now planning on going to Giant. I've been inside this HT and it's ok but with medical problems, I really could use the pick up option and their unnecessary timelines are pointless. read more

I shop here all the time just because I live right across the street but it is definitely not a grocery store I would recommend for anyone who isn't within walking distance because the food here is frequently moldy, rotten or stale even when it's not past the Sell By date (and a ton of stuff is). It wouldn't be as surprising if the store were bigger or less busy but it's not a particularly large store, it's in a very busy location and they have pallets out in the isles with people restocking the shelves every time I'm here so I can't think of a good explanation for why they would have bad or expired food on the shelves unless they are storing it improperly or receiving it that way every single day. Either way they have to be leaving it on the shelves intentionally because the fresh meat and produce sections take less than a minute to look through so all the green meat and rotten fruit I keep seeing cannot be there by accident. read more

Watch out anyone who doesn't have a DC, MD, or VA license, out of state visitors, etc. I have been coming to this HT for the past two years as a resident of the apartment complex above. Overall, the store is clean, staff is genuinely friendly, and I have had no complaints. Unfortunately as of this evening, Harris Teeter has lost a customer as a result of enforcing a new superfluous policy. When I ran down to grab beer this evening, I gave the cashier my license as I normally do. Note that, I am from out of state and still have my Kansas license - I don't drive a car, commute by metro, and there has been no reason for me to update it. I was notified that unless you have a U.S. passport, DC, MD, or VA license, your license will no longer be accepted. I'm sorry? The point of my driver's license isn't what state I'm from but rather the validity of my date of birth and the license itself. Seeing as my KS one doesn't expire until November of 2018, I should be in the clear. I find it absolutely insulting that they said this to a customer who shops there twice a week, if not more. I will now be taking my business to another grocer that values their customers more. read more

I'm mostly reviewing the "hot" food here. Grocery store wise, it's pretty much what you expect from every other HT store. Value really drives the sales behind the "hot" foods. The prime rib deal ($10 with two sides) on Wednesday, lobster deal on Tuesdays, and sub deals on Fridays are good value with good value deals. The subs are slightly above Subway quality but at much cheaper on a Friday. The ingredients and bread are fresh and there are plenty of customization choices. For $5, I like this deal quite a bit. Like most places, they also offer dirt cheap rotisserie chicken deals which I also like. The chicken is typical super market chicken but for $5, it's good deal since it can last several meals. I really like the salmon at the hot bar otherwise the wings and Asian food is either very mediocre and leaves a lot to desire. During rush hour, it can get busy but I guess that's the case for most supermarkets. read more

I can't say enough good things about this Harris Teeter. I live in the apartment complex on top of the Harris Teeter and had no idea this was coming in. Having a grocery store right below you has many obvious benefits, but you're not going to shop there no matter how convenient if they don't have what you want and don't treat you right. Let me first start by saying how kind and friendly everyone is (that I have encountered so far, of course). I'm always greeted by employees, asked if I need help finding anything, and when asked the standard "How are you today?", there is genuine warmth behind the question. One can tell what management is like by the attitudes of the employees, and this Harris Teeter appears to be a well-run machine. Laval in particular is amazing - he's in charge of customer care and has taken care of me twice now. There are no empty promises with him - he wants to make sure the customers are happy, and because of those good experiences (more than the convenience of living upstairs), this HT has become my #1 grocery store. Amy at the pharmacy is also very down-to-earth and helpful, and sadly is not the easiest to come by in a pharmacy. As for the items, I'm on a strict diet, but most of my staple items I can find here (if you're allergic to dairy like me and eat your weight in Daiya, you'll have to go down the road to Mom's - the one thing I really have to go elsewhere for), and their organic selection is just big enough. As for the hours - it can't get any better than 24 hours! As a med/grad student, I'm up at all hours of the night and morning, and so having a 24Hr HT right below me is the biggest blessing I never planned for. I simply love this place. Closer to where I live and open 24 hours. I want to give them 4 stars but didn't have a pleasant checkout experience. An older lady named Asha was checking us out, didn't greet us which is no big deal for me as I don't mind it as much but gave us a stare as we handed her out VIC card, this must've hit a nerve as she started literally throwing our items off the counter as she's checking us out. My can of Sanpellegrino almost flew off the counter. I know we all have bad days but taking it out on Customers is not the right way to go. I handed her the $10 off coupon and we got a frown face, are they told not to take coupons anymore? I'm shopping here for about 2-3 times a week and won;t let this one experience get in the way but she certainly has to be dealt with by management. read more

This review is for the Hot Bar. I've had breakfast once, lunch three times and dinner once. The breakfast items are better than lunch and dinner items. They have a wide variety of items during breakfast time to choose from, to satisfy sweet and savory tastes. Lunch and dinner items tend to be the same afternoon and evening. So if you come for lunch, you'll likely have the same options for dinner. If you come back next week, you'll likely get the same items again. Maybe that's a good thing for some people. The choices are not very healthy at the Hot Bar for lunch and dinner, but the variety is good. The problem I have, and the reason I won't return for lunch or dinner, is the amount of added sodium in EVERYTHING. Each visit to the Hot Bar during lunch or dinner, I tried picking different items. But the same was true for everything. This trip, I wanted to eat "healthly". I got peas, mixed vegetables and salmon. I couldn't finish the meal because of the excessive amount of salt. I stopped eating about twenty minutes ago and I still have that tingling sensation in my mouth that I get when I eat too much salt. Oh well. All is not lost. I'll be back for breakfast in the future. read more
