I love Trader Joe's but this one it's probably my favorite. It seems a bit smaller than some of the other Trader Joe's stores I've been in, but it's surprisingly well stocked for its size. I was able to get all of my pre-ice storm charcuterie and snacks, along with some fresh fruits and veg to hold me over until the world defrosted again. Despite they're being so many people in the store, I was able to get parking fairly quickly and the store wasn't really crowded. There were a lot of people there but the layout made it easy to move around. What I loved most about my last visit was the absolutely gorgeous selection of flowers they had. I was able to leave with some beautiful options, including some flowers I've never heard of, to create some gorgeous bouquets to decorate the house. I was impressed with how long those flowers lasted. They didn't even start to wilt until about 2 and 1/2 weeks after I brought them home. They looked good for well over 3 weeks and it was a sad day when I had to finally toss them. I've never had flowers last that long from any other store, including other Trader Joe's locations. I'm not sure what love and affection they're feeding those flowers but keep it up! Of course, as always, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful... I worked here from August 2018 until I was fired last July. I was fired after I reported to HR that I was sexually assaulted by another crew member, Victor, during my shift on July 16th, 2022. After I was assaulted, I ran as fast as I could to the first manager I saw, Aaron. He is still a mate at this store. Aaron told me to, "go tell Liz because she's dealing with this", I ran to the desk in the store and told the mate Liz, again a current manager, that I had just been assaulted by Victor! Her words, "Not again, can you please wrote a statement so we can actually fire him this time? Alexander saw him grab another employee inappropriately last week, they won't fire him because, you know" Alexander is a current manager. Tom Senior, was the store manager and is still currently there as well. All of these managers told me I could not go to the police or I would lose my job. Victor was finally fired but I've lived in hell since that day. I encourage everyone not to let anyone you love or care about to work here. This place does not care about employees. The other victim was underage and after finding that out, I stopped going forward with my lawyers. This store has permanently changed our lives forever. I love this Trader Joe's! Locals like me are always shopping there. I frequently see a friend! I think I really like Trader Joe's because it's so much more peaceful and easier to shop at than other massive supermarkets. Trader Joe's has the best food! The frozen aisle always gets me excited! I love the soupy dumplings, frozen croissants, and basically everything! The fruits and vegetables are always so fresh and I really love how the prices of eggs have stayed the same with the rising egg prices, but this does mean that they run out fairly quickly. I made a quick post-Father's Day lunch run for a few items. Of course, I ended up with more groceries than I planned, which is never a bad thing...until I realize there's no place for anything to go. O_o Nice, clean store with plenty of items in stock. I decided to grab some UBE fruit spread, since that seemed to be the store's theme of the day. PARKING: There are several other businesses in that area, so the parking lot is super busy. I love the employees here. Am not sure how they deal with the crowds daily, but my hats off to them. They are incredible. This location is in a very entitled part of northern Virginia. Close to Tyson's Corner, parking can be a real issue. The shopping center does its best, but can't keep up with the insane building and area development. As for the store, I've found some good values in here. I am grateful their "ready made foods" are reasonable. Their coffee is fantastic. I want to like Trader Joe's, but am just not into the crowds. They are smaller grocery stores, and the aisles with hordes of people, cause some claustrophobic type of experiences. If in the area this works, but be prepared for the madness. I had to make a pit stop at TJ's. Since I was in VA, I headed straight to the wine section!! They have such a great selection of dry and sweet wines. I picked up three. Bring ID, they carded me. Friendly employees all over the store. I saw smiles and heard hellos.. A rarity in Rockville store. Prices appear to be cheaper in VA, a better selection of items. On a Sunday, everything my heart desired was in stock. Something that would not have happened at MD locations, in my opinion. Their frozen tamales are a must! Im too lazy to make them these days lol. Their spices are a must!! There is an elote spice, its a must have!! If you love nutella, get their cookie butter! Check out their cheese section! Yum!! The keep the aisles clear and the store clean. This Trader Joe's location is amazing! It's even better now that they've remodeled, they have added a little more space between the aisles which is a plus during the pandemic. The holiday goods are now in stores! Even though it wasn't on my list, I definitely bought some peppermint candies and caramels. No peppermint hold the cone, but other flavors were in stock during my visit. Some of my other favorite TJ goods: wine country chicken salad, chili onion crunch, garlic spread, mandarin orange chicken, burrata cheese, and s'mores chocolates. Love that all employees wear masks, gloves, and that they provide a cart sanitizing station. read more

FRIENDLY, FRIENDLY & FRIENDLY employees. As with most TJ's location, the customer service is a positive. My impromptu visit here in the midst of inventory be stocked, there were two employees that were more than happy to assist. This location offers Beer & Wine so this was the perfect occasion to stock up on the Two Buck Chuck (Charles Shaw Winery) bottles of wine that now is around $3.50. I also lucked up on the new Vegan Banana Bread, got three loaves...not bad once you warm it up & drizzle a little TJ's Agave on it. A very clean & organized location. read more

OK, trader joe's (above address) is a regular outing. partly for my service dog -- smarter, more polite than me (not a high bar), who survived both being thrown out in frozen MN words as a puppy, and (right after a pricy physical) had simultaneous body-part breakdowns 2 years ago (way pricier). has as much charisma as seen (and was media guy who walked around with charismatic types.) point: this service dog is a kind soul, never heard her growl. When we go to TJ's, never been a big deal. store staffers say hi to tTher, people ask if they pat her. she looks looks at me and i'm like, don't blame me they want a selfie w/you. except recently, when a TJ store guy ID-ing himself only as Troy -- wouldn't say his full name, but maybe he's like beyonce or madonna known by one name -- says we have to leave. because of dog, who was as bored by Troy as she is with most people. We all know anybody can pop up anymore enforcing policy you haven't seen from last 50 guys. (Geez, in hospitals it's SOP.) i explain circumstances, i just wanted to get eggs, broccoli, chicken, spinach anything -- and ok,, beer. nobody's perfect -- and hobble home. but there were at least couple TJ store guys standing around, silent. Parking lot is terrible and small. This location seems to stock up frequently when items run out. Trader Joes has high quality items at low/moderate prices and if you love international cuisine which you just heat and eat, this is the place for you. No club fees. No frills. Just good food and most are healthy. The produce is super underrated as is the meat/seafood section. But the frozen food section is where its at. A lot of Indian and Asian inspired dishes as good/or better than restaurant quality at a fraction of the price. read more

Grocery shopping is usually awful and even worse during COVID. Fortunately, this location wasn't quite as much of a zoo as the Bailey's Crossroads location. I don't come to TJ's too regularly but I've liked pretty much everything I've gotten and you can't go wrong with their frozen Indian food (especially the chana masala). Employees were friendly here and check-out was very fast with short lines. Trust me, go early and avoid the worst of the lines. read more

Updating my review after a Feb 28 WaPo report that the company fired crew member Ben Bonnema for writing a letter asking for increased covid protection measures. He had a perfect performance review and worked since the pandemic started a year ago. Last month at the Tysons TJ's, I saw a maskless customer push past a manager and justify himself to another crew member face to face. Then darted around the store muttering to himself and anyone else nearby while customers swerved to avoid him. I felt unsafe and cut my shopping visit short. I've never seen unsafe customers at Whole Foods across the street or Harris Teeter. read more

Trader Joe's has made me a person who do not want to live far away from Trader Joe's. I love Trader Joe's, Trader Giotto and Trader Joe-san! TJ carries so many unique food items that regular supermarkets do no have and those unique items are often really delicious. Mini French Baguette, Breaded Cod, Wild Blue Shrimp, Meat Balls, Sea Scallops, Birds Nest, Edamame, Vegetable Corn Dog, Pork Gyoza, Shrimp Tempura, Edamame Hummus, to name a few. Oh... I failed to get a coconut milk can. They had only organic reduced fat one. I bought it anyway tho. Variety: fresh vegetables, fruits, a little bit seafood, meat, snacks, wine, beer. Everything besides what I really wanted to get. Taste: Their organic yogurt, soy milk, chicken, salad, and wine are my favorites. Now they have Mango Pale Ale, which is pretty girly but tasty. Returned an item at the front desk and was asked whether I would be shopping so that the refund would be applied at check out. I said I was shopping and at the check out register I told the employee about my returned item and he rang a loud bell 3x, for a manager. The bell, possibly 110 decibels, was hand pulled at the same second he said to cover my ears not allowing me time to cover them. I will never shop at Trader Joe again having been a 3x a week customer. read more

Today felt one of those special days and me and my girlfriend felt good about what was to become of the election. I wanted to do something nice to sort of surprise her so I came here tonight to get her some flowers! We feel that our guy is going to win and the future will look bright for the next four years. While I was here I was browsing the store to see what else I could pick up to spoil myself. I thought seriously about getting a pint of ice cream, but I had already indulged in that just a couple of days ago. I couldn't find my exact type of ice cream so I skipped that idea. I especially love their Dark Chocolate bar with Speculoos cookie spread (I don't even like dark chocolate, but these are tasty), and their Cookie Butter (great on white bread, and a nice change from Nutella). Very friendly customer service! The employees actually like working there and you can see it, very sweet actually It's a clean grocery store, and they're usually well stocked. A few times they've been out of basic items. They almost always have some good being demonstrated/sampled. Overall, Trader Joe's is cover labeled for a lot of high end products. Many investigative articles speculate what items is what brand - google for further detail. However, their organic pantry items are the best pricing you'll be able to find! Also, the best value in my opinion is the Pound Plus Bar. It's most likely Callabeuts second chocolate - it's such good quality at a fraction of the cost. read more

I love Trader Joe's and shop at Falls Church location every week despite the crowds and parking that can be a challenge during peak hours. I still miss the old store layout, and still feel nostalgic for the time where you could easily find your favorite items (love their chocolate, almond pastry and Babka...not to mention their cheese selection) and even get a free coffee sample to enjoy while you explore all new products (oh, good old pre-Covid times). I guess that was unique experience which only small store could offer so I didn't expect the same feeling with the expanded space, especially during the pandemic. Staffers at this small, yet cozy Trader Joe's location are wonderful and go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Overall nice selection of fruits, vegetables, and snacks. The parking lot can get busy ans competitive at time, so often the staffers will help you bring your bags to your vehicle and return your shopping cart for you. To avoid busy professionals, car traffic, and be first to select products, arrange your visit in the morning around 8:00 am before you start your day. One thumb up. read more

Overall it's a great store with very good team. That said, fresh produce items are unfortunately hardly ever fully stocked... almost always require additional trip(s) to complete my shopping list. Also shelf stable items are a hit or miss on any single trip to the store. While supply chain challenges are not disregarded my impression is that in part those "shortages" also reflect issues in management of inventory and ordering... not to mention the sudden permanent "disappearance" of favorite items that without notice are permanently discontinued. If you need to "update" the price on favorite items don't Discontinue selling them. Rather appeal to the understanding of your clients and post the new price. Test first for 6 months and then let shoppers know if you intend to discontinue! read more

I am definitely a big Trader Joe's FAN so I feel a little guilty for my three stars, but this location just needs a little TLC. I live right across the street, so I have the awesome convenience of shopping here all the time. But ya know... the timing never seems to work, if I visit at off-peak times (i.e., weeknights after work 8/9 pm) I am able to avoid the chaos of too many shoppers/overcrowding/long lines, HOWEVER, at this non-peak time they seem to always be stocking the shelves, carting out and unloading big boxes etc. It's a frenzy and I feel like I'm in their way while I spend 10 minutes trying to figure out which peanut butter to buy...but I digress... Just NEVER go to this location on a Saturday morning/afternoon. WOW it is packed. This is definitely one of the smaller TJ locations unfortunately. But you would think you were shopping in NYC it's that ridiculous and the lines...I can't even! And don't get me started on the parking lot - total utter chaos. Okay - so now that I have finished my rant, here is the good: ~The employees here are usually very friendly and very helpful! ~ Always free samples of something to try! ~Always free samples of coffee if you need a little pick me up! ~Love the birthday cards/greeting cards ~Smoked salmon pieces 8oz - consistently good & great price point/value ~TJ CHEESE (great selection, also great price! I love Trader Joe's, their products and of course the wine selection. But, I am not a fan of the Falls Church location. In particular, I really wonder if the staff at this location might have some biased attitudes toward customers. Notably, multiple times I will notice the cashier is chatty and friendly with other customers before and even after me, but usually they are rude with me. Maybe I'm not of the old and white demographic that usually shops at this location... I've noticed this behavior so many times that I even wrote a complaint to Trader Joe's corporate and received no response. Even though this is the closest location to where I live, I try to avoid the Falls Church and go out of my way to the locations in Fairfax or Clarendon. I can always count on friendly service at the other locations. read more

Props to Trader Joe for allowing me to eat like a king even though I have no time and no money. A few of my favorite items include: - Arugula and Cheese Ravioli (in the refrigerated section) - Panko Breaded Tilapia (served with a quick salsa created from TJ's frozen roasted corn, heirloom cherry tomatoes, cilantro and lime) - Dark chocolate covered cherries - Charles Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon (At $3.49 a bottle, I have been able to party like an unsigned rock star almost every night) - Channa Masala Chickpeas (served over rice this makes a hearty and delicious vegetarian meal) - Avocado bags (Avocados don't come cheap and Trader Joe's has the best deal in town) - Mediterranean Style Hummus (They have several different varieties but this is the best!) Besides food items, Trader Joe's offers a great value on all natural, sulfate-free shampoos. Most natural shampoos are in the $10 and up category but Trader Joe's offers them for $2.99. I am a particular fan of their Tea Tree Tingle shampoo which leaves my hair soft, shiny, and squeaky clean! To summarize, my life would be a complete mess without Trader Joe's. My hair would be ridden with chemicals and I would probably die of scurvy from eating instant ramen all the time. Trader Joe's you have a loyal fan in me! read more

A check of the internet will "learn ya" that there are a bunch of other rabid Trader Joe's fans out there in Cyberworld. There are websites such as www.traderjoesfan.com or www.trackingtraderjoes.com where people review and share their opinions on Trader Joe products...and "stalk" products that have been discontinued. I'm not alone in this dedication that as mentioned earlier, goes beyond just love.... By the way, if you're ever in Trader Joe's, you must try out the Italian Black Truffle Cheese with some of their amazingly fresh Gruyère cheese bread. Combine this little snack with a bottle of tasty wine under 6 bux, and you'll be a happy camper. Our two monkeys love whenever I hit Trader Joe's as they've now been classically conditioned to expect a balloon if they see the paper TJ grocery bags. As soon as I walk into the house they ask, "Balloon? Balloon?" Who knew that at 21 months kids could already associate a commercial logo to something else...like balloons. If you don't know much about Trader Joe's, as I once didn't, here we go: - Don't be scared. It is not Whole Foods. IT IS BETTER. - Prices reasonable on most items. (Note: Not EVERYTHING is best purchased at TJ's but you could probably get away with it.) - If people are talking about TJ's, they mean Trader Joe's. - It's great and you are doing good things for yourself and your body and your taste buds. Truly. Okay, now that we've gotten that out of the way, I almost deducted a star for one terrible thing: the parking. Ohmygosh. It is nearly impossible to find parking here. No, seriously, you will struggle. Do a few laps, because things do seem to move along pretty quickly at check-out, so spots will open up. You just might not get to them in time. =[ HOWEVER. Someone who shall not be named forgot his wallet there (probably right after paying for his food) and was panicking. I called in, asked if they found a wallet, described the wallet and the name on the IDs, and lo and behold! THEY HAD IT! In the midst of all the chaos of a weekend shopping rush, the cashiers managed to save the wallet and put it in a locked drawer. It was returned to its owner the next day. Thank you splendid TJ's employees for finding that wallet and for the delicious sample of something I got, I don't know what it was but it was delicious. read more

It's like the perfect "Date-to-go" shopping experience. Good selection of inexpensive wines, nice cheeses, interesting frozen foods, and they even have fresh flowers. While the selection is smaller than the typical grocery store, there is plenty of stuff to buy. I ended up getting the sushi, wine and flowers combo quite often as the girl I was dating at the time lived in the neighborhood behind the store! If they ever have the Honey Moon (wine) in stock again... Try it! read more
