Zam Zam Market has a wide variety of Middle Eastern grocery items and pastries. Space is very cramped inside as they have fit racks of groceries tightly in the store. To order a hot and ready item, you can order at the register. Behind the register is a menu so you can see the food options. I ordered a falafel wrap and asked for it to be made dairy free. The wrap was made in 5 minutes. They made sure to not put sauce on the wrap, and instead but the dairy sauce on the side. I do wish the wrap had a sauce option that was vegan like hummus or a spicy red sauce. It was a little dry with nothing. That falafel though made this wrap totally worth ordering The falafel was so light and perfectly flavored. Finally a falafel ball that is not burnt on the outside, dried out, or just tastes like parsley. This falafel was everything I could have dreamed of, and I will certainly order it again. Next time I visit Zam Zam not only will I bring a shopping bag to grocery shop, but I also look forward to another authentic falafel wrap. I would give this spot 5 stars if they could provide a vegan sauce for the falafel. Then my experience would be perfect.

And while I eat a ton of Indian restaurant food, I also get home-cooked meals in this idiom on occasion, and the food here definitely has that kind of taste. Tangy, spicy, but not overly oily. Having said that, I came hoping for some appetizers to go like samosas or vadas, which maybe they sometimes have but did not have much of when I arrived. Then, the next day, she called back just to berate me for not calling again! Absolutely no respect for the customer's time. How does that make sense? You have time to call and lecture a customer, but not to set up a voicemail, take messages properly, or learn basic customer service etiquette? As the name suggests, there are specialty food items from all over Europe. While I saw some things like English teas, German cookies, and a few Greek items, it seemed like the majority of the offerings were from Eastern Europe. I think over half of the products had labels in Cyrillic alphabet with no translation on them in any fashion, so some things you just gotta know what it is or ask the staff. I saw a lot of things from Georgia and Ukraine, but I think I saw other products from that region (Russian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, etc.). The staff were very friendly, and cheerfully assisted me with some of the pastries we purchased. One had a nice balance of flaky pastry and fruit filling while the blintzes seemed a bit underwhelming. I also picked up a bottle of dessert wine and Children #1 and #2 picked out some candies that caught their eye. The inside is clean and somewhat small but easy to navigate. There is music playing (I don't know what language; I want to say Russian but in today's climate that could be a charged statement. Just want to say it positively adds to the vibe). Worth checking out, if you want to explore a product you might not otherwise be exposed to or if you want to find a specialty European item that you've been missing.
