Whenever I feel like I'm going to tap out, he gives me one more set and somehow pushes me through it. He pays close attention to form to make sure I don't get hurt and am getting the most out of the workout. Grateful to have him in my corner!

I'm just going to settle on 3 stars here, an average of all my experiences. Long story short, if…read moreyou go to the ER while you are here or shortly after, you have to immediately return with a copy of a doctor's note or email it. You need to do this asap and specify freezes on all services. If you have Kids Klub, END IT. I went to Vivian who was there the last time I had an ER visit a couple years ago: this past December, I was injured again suddenly on site during a training appointment (due to my body/health situation, not my trainer or an exercise injury) and I let her know I was getting a ride to the ER this time instead of an ambulance, since it was a was a touch less urgent. She was responsive this day and seemed to enter the freezes correctly. I dropped off the first note 2 days later to support a freeze for a couple months since a major surgery would get scheduled. I was told I had an 8" growth and cancer in my blood and had to wait the entire winter holidays for further info until doctors were back in the hospital. A few weeks later the billing began... I called Vivian and mentioned my bank was informed of my condition and knew to not pay the bills until a certain date. She laughed and said I'd be billed later anyways. I felt like "I have cancer again, I could die this time with this huge growth. She's laughing at me." I know it was not personal, but forgive me, I'll never forget the feeling of thinking I might die and getting this is the response while asking for help. My health is poor after surviving breast cancer treatments in 2020 and they wrecked parts of my body but eradicated an aggressive form of breast cancer. I don't want to go into how bad the type is, but the odds are very bad with that type and they use the highest doses of their most aggressive chemo to eradicate the cancer. That's why I struggle and have gone to the ER twice in a couple years. But working out improves my condition, so it's essential. I'm so glad I found out a few days later that the current ER test was a misdiagnosis. I eventually received a big surgery, recovered and called in to sort out the bills that were waiting for me. Because I was experienced in navigating the disorganized billing practices, it was a smaller bill this time. I reached a teleservice rep who had her manager Mark look into it and it was fixed after 3 phone calls for a full refund. I know it's not personal. But I've decided that clearly this is not customer service at all. This is just workers, protecting themselves and the company and you just have to advocate super quick, do the footwork and calls and take notes, document, stay on it, trust nothing, stay positive and confirm and be persistent. Most businesses exhibit hospitality and customer service at an average level. Often if a medical incident occurs you'll get a compassionate response and excellent customer care. Not here, you will get compassion at first and solutions that fall through. Then they will lose confidence and be strained but still attempt to help. Eventually, it requires an escalation and manager intervention to correct the situation. The in-gym customer service experience will be good about situational things like everyday interactions. But if your issue has ANYTHING to do with billing, there is no safety net no matter how serious your medical situation. Had I only had a normal membership instead of a training membership too, I probably could have just canceled or never been the wiser. I'm actually hopeful no one ever has to experience this zone that they are weak at. But if you do, stay flexible, positive, and stay on it. Good luck and good health! I saw billing fees,

But every experience so far has been great! There's plenty of cardio machines available at all times. From what I've seen people are respectful and wipe down the equipment after use. The biggest bonus is you can bring a guest with you every time. It's like a two in one membership! In the multiples times I've been here I've only seen one machine out of service. Certain machines are very popular/almost always in use like the assisted pull up. I think there may only be one of those. There's a vending machine with drinks available. The people working at the front have been polite. Be warned there are signs not to leave any valuables in the lockers. Keep them with you at all times. Even in early-mid January this gym wasn't that crowded.

Our 3 year old was in the Starfish class and loved his teacher, but since the change in ownership, his teachers have been different which has caused a lot of anxiety with a child that has already struggled with water confidence. If your child is older or doesn't mind inconsistency with his teachers, BSS might work great for you. If you have a young child or a child that does not adapt well to changes, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Original review: British Swim School's Vallejo location, run by Cheronda A. and team, advertise their program as being able to "instilling water survival skills that save lives". After 17 months (64 lessons) and $2500 down the drain, we pulled our son from this program due to it being more akin to an aquatic day care (with you as the parent remaining present) than a swim program. The people at the school are nice enough interpersonally, but these are the red flags to notice: - After an initial few weeks you stop getting feedback, which when given is always verbally and never through skill progress item in the British Swim School's app. If you challenge the owner (Cheronda A.) on this, you will be gaslighted in there being more feedback than there actually is, and that it is their policy to only give verbal feedback versus using the app for what it is intended. - You'll notice your child will have many different instructors throughout lessons, with great variety as seniority as instructors. - You're paying about $40 for a 30min session, but on avg. there are 4 kids per classes, meaning even if you round up that's $40 for 10 minutes of instruction, as in the 64 "lessons" we paid for equates to having paid $2500 for less than 11 hours of instruction. - The lessons are utterly simple snd repetitive, and not lessons at all, the same 4 simple things are just endlessly repeated without any coaching or guidance from the instructors towards the child as to what to do different or how to improve. - The final straw, when you confront them on the inadequacies listed above, they will a) gaslight you in terms of feedback cycles, but much much worse, b) blame the lack of results on your child. In summary, this school will happily take your money for providing very little, and in terms of practical outcomes are operating in opposition of their mission statement.

In my experience, this is a place where you either feel like you belong or you don't. There were times I felt judged, uncomfortable, and honestly more bullied than supported. There was also an interaction when I first came back that made me uncomfortable. The owner asked how I had been after all these years, and during the conversation I mentioned that I now have a son. He asked how old my son was, and when I said he was 6, he made a snarky comment along the lines of, "You should have come back sooner." I found that comment very inappropriate and unnecessary, especially considering the personal circumstances and years of my life that had passed since I was last there. It immediately contributed to the feeling that I was being judged rather than welcomed back. The membership situation was ultimately the final straw. I completed the 3-month agreement I originally signed up for and immediately communicated that I did not want to continue. I was not trying to cancel early or get out of an agreement. The 30-day cancellation policy only came up when we discussed going month-to-month after my original 3 months had ended. Being charged for a fourth month on something I understood to be a 3-month agreement clearly indicates that there was a lack of clarity somewhere. What made the situation worse was how the owner responded when I questioned the charge. I found his responses disrespectful and condescending. I was reminded about the discount I had received, and my mom was brought into the conversation simply because her card was on file. At some point, I believe a business should be able to communicate respectfully with the actual member regarding their own membership. I supported this business, paid my membership, and chose to come back after years away. I never expected special treatment, but I did expect basic respect and clear communication. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left me feeling like my business was valued more than my experience as a member. Definitely not the way I expected things to end

The owner (Tyler) appeared welcoming the first time we've met, but after an incident that occurred at his business he showed poor judgement and little to no concerns. The young fighter Bryson with the colored hair felt the need to pull a gun after suggesting that he wanted to spar with me and I said ok let's go. (Bryson Turnbow) @jbqt_ was collaborating with us for content creation. This was setup by my business-partner who often helps him as she's thoughtful as an amazing person. This collaboration required him holding pads while we record a few combos. Less than two minutes into holding pads while I punched lightly to see if we had chemistry, his attitude became sour towards me. Once I saw his body language I stopped and immediately had a conversation to let him know we aren't competitors and this is just some mittwork, he exited the ring and took a seat on the bench for another 2 minutes before I asked him if he wanted to try catching punches while I throw a little harder. He said yes, entered the ring again, and we started working. I was using approximately 50 % of my power and I thought he was doing well on the pads. Like most coaches and fighters, you'd see the trainer throw a slap as the fighter here and there with the pads while they work and Bryson did exactly that, which I was ok with as I'm experienced and defended. We got into a little play, he threw punches and i used a few feints and non-contact decoy jabs to throw him off. Soon after he mentioned getting his gloves to spar with me and I welcomed it. I even asked him if he wanted to get protective gears for safety. He said no, I said ok but let me change to a 18oz gloves as I was wearing a smaller 10 Oz gloves at that time. I honestly thought he wanted to spar to help settle his nerves. Maybe trying to land on me would've been a nice little challenge for him, unfortunately! He decided to get a GUN instead and this surprised me and my business-partner. His drama was uttered in nasty words, such as; Get the fuq outta his gym. This is his hood. I think I'm better than everyone else because I have FOLLOWERS and so much more. We did not escalate things and he refused to be calm to have a conversation. Our final decision was to leave the gym and take necessary action regarding the matter. I wouldn't recommend this gym as a safe place for children or anyone looking for a positive community. While i hope others wouldn't experience this, Reports to California boxing committee and USA Boxing is necessary.
