Within several MINUTES with Dr. Zhou, WITH THE PLACEMENT OF A SINGLE NEEDLE, he dropped my shoulder pain levels from 10+ to a 1 or 2, and told me what I suffered from was 'frozen shoulder'!! It was nothing short of amazing! I have never been able to get a diagnosis on this, my pain dropped immediately, and he knew EXACTLY what the problem was. I'm way out of balance as I favor and use my right arm for everything, and seldom use my left arm and shoulder. I have never done activities like golf because that I am terrified of re-igniting this painful injury. I have since continued Dr. Zhou's very effective treatments, techniques, and advice to roll back the decades-long list of damage to my shoulder muscles and tendons - to help get my strength back, and help restore proper shoulder functioning. I feel like him and his sessions are truly healing me. Dr. Zhou shows compassion and concern, and it feels like he is 'my' doctor. Dr. Zhou is also very warm and funny. After waiting an hour past our appointment time, he spent approximately 5 minutes (NOT kidding) with us. He came in the room, said "any headaches" (to which my son responded "yes"), with Dr. Reichert's response of "I'm not doing surgery because you don't need it." Didn't bring up his MRI results or discuss them, didn't talk about any of his structural abnormalities, didn't ask "how are you," didn't listen to any concerns, didn't ask if we had questions, kept tapping on the exam table - slouched and leaning back in the office chair - completely unprofessional, cocky, disrespectful, NO bedside manners, treated us like we didn't know anything (I myself have a medical degree as an NP), didn't even assess my son(!), opened the door, and walked us out of the room. I would NEVER recommend this provider to absolutely anyone. I have no idea who would rate him so highly, but I really hope that you look to other providers to have an understanding of what one would be like if they had their patient as the focus of attention, during an office visit that I am paying for, related to a pretty significant issue.

I thought it better to submit them prior to the app't so the Dr. might have a chance to review BEFORE my visit. How could he go through all that and the scans during the app't, which I expected to be 15-20 minutes? The doctor saw me within 10-15 minutes of my appointment time and spent over 45 minutes speaking (and listening) to me, doing a brief physical exam, and then reviewing, in detail, the CT scans of my cervical and lumbar regions. He didn't review the scan in advance. He spent the time to review them with me. I was not there to proceed with any particular action or surgery. I was there to CONSULT and strategize whether to take action now (I'm 67), or wait some years, maybe 10 or whatever, to live with my ongoing condition/s (I've had a discectomy and fusion already) and take action at some later date. Dr. King understood all that, and considering the complete Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) I have, he recommended we take a wait and see approach on the surgery. He did refer me to Dr. Doniparthi in the Pain Management clinic to again CONSULT the possibility of an injection or trigger point therapy. (I have seen her more than once before and had injections before). I did follow up with her the very next day and her assessment was basically the same - no assurance that any injection would help... might help, might not. So... wait and see as long as I could continue to function as is. I was very pleased that I was listened to, that a conservative approach was considered and taken, and will return to Dr. King, if and when, I deteriorate to needing some intervention.

On my first office with visit Dr Jesse, he immediately put me at ease with personal engaging demeanor. He explained my options thoroughly and I felt confident he was perfect for me! In November 2022, Dr. Jesse performed a Mako Robotic assisted Total Knee Replacement. My surgery went fantastic. Later that same day, I was walking with a walker during PT. Dr. Jesse made sure my pain was managed during my recovery. My recovery went so well, I had my other knee replaced 3 1/2 months later! That recovery was even better. At 60 years old, I am pain free and loving my life!! I highly recommend Dr. Jesse Bauwens. I have already referred several friends to him after they saw my results!

I then updated it in January, as I feel it's completely dishonest to write a review and not share both good and bad. There seemed to be a bit of confusion as to who was involved in writing it. It is written solely by me, and is based on my experience dealing with this facility. I am reposting with this clarification. My mom completed a stay at this facility in September 2025. There was nothing but positive things we can say about the employees and the rehabilitation hospital itself. Literally everyone we dealt with, from the front receptionist to security, to nurses, therapists, etc. were fantastic. A nurse named Whittany was especially helpful in speaking with the doctor about a concern, and calling me to follow up. Edit to review in January 2026 My mom had ended up back in the hospital, and needed rehab. She was accepted again at the Milwaukee Rehab Hospital, I was contacted by them, and everything was all set. A couple days later the hospital social worker told me the rehab place had withdrawn the spot, and gave no explanation. I never heard a word from the rehab hospital. I should add in here I left a VM for the contact person I had dealt with, letting her know how disappointed I was in the handling of this. I believe she was out of the office, but I never received any call once she returned, or follow up from anyone else. I left that out of the first review because I was simply trying to explain the lack of communication without going into detail. Thankfully my mom went elsewhere and received excellent care, but this completely changed my view of this facility. I hope the people in charge at any rehab place put themselves in the families' place and understand what it's like to go from placement to denial with no contact and no explanation.
