Read several of the reviews and noticed several repeat complaints about the same associate, the manager on Greenwood (when I'm in there he calls himself the 'owner'). Guy is rude, impertinent, insulting. He does not know his specialty merchandise. Treats customers, even long-time buyers, like the were employees. Terrible environment. The store is open so if you browse you can easily end up in a corner that has no sign and the owners runs over " This is place you cannot afford!". I am not rich nor am I poor. I have left several pieces with this consignment store. Only one of them sold and I picked up the rest and brought them home. I'm not disappointed that my items didn't sell. I have a unique taste like everyone else. It's how they treated my items that is disappointing. Two of my items were placed horribly and they had not been dusted or taken care of. I'm not saying that they would have sold either way. That is not my point. I picked up a mirror yesterday that hadn't sold and noticed a piece missing from the molding when I was putting it in my car (see photos below). When I went back in the store looking for the piece I mentioned it to the employee and he said, "yeah I noticed that too when I moved it. Sorry." So I got my mirror back but it's missing a piece. Sorry? That's just shady. So while this place has definitely worked for others, it's not going to work for me any longer. The fact that they don't take care of things I have brought in for consignment has turned me off completely. read more

Wow. I'll never go there again. I found the loveliest sectional sofa at their Ballard store, as you know, I was looking for one. The owner wrote up the order for me, since I would have to have it delivered. But here's the thing ... the sectional was a light gray and he wrote beige. I said, "No, it's not beige, it's gray." He said, "I have another style that we call gray, so I'm going to call this one beige. We know which one it is." Right.... They deliver a big beige sofa, too big for the small house and the corner is on the wrong side. I fought with the delivery guys to take it back. Went back to the owner who absolutely LIED and said he wrote beige and we got beige. I can't believe it. Simply can't believe it. I lost over $300 on this transaction. I will NEVER go there again. read more

Very cool items. I didn't end up buying anything, everything is definitely cheaper than at a furniture shop but still in the $100s. I hear you can make some sweet deals and the guy working there seemed friendly and reasonable though. He remembered a couple who had been there a week before so I can see he pays attention to customers needs well. I had a great impression from the owners via email when I reached out with pictures to see if they'd consider co-signing my sofa and loveseat set. I called the store directly the next day to see if I could bring it by, and very irritatedly the guy said okay, as long as the owners said it was okay. He didn't seem to like impromptu calls, but I brought it by. About an hour later, a friend of mine responded to my add on FB messenger and said they'd like to buy it. I told them I just delivered it to the consignment store and we agreed to meet there. However, I got caught up in traffic and my friend beat me. I was hoping to work something out with the owners since it was my advertisement that captured interest, and my leading them to their store (which they had never heard of) - especially since it had only been a day or two and they hadn't even staged my stuff yet, but the guy said no. A deal is a deal and we will take half. My friend said they bought the set for $1,000.00. So I was out some, but understood. But then they only gave me a check and said she bartered it down $100. (Which she didn't). So they took $50 from me. So now I have a bad taste in my mouth. Their word against mine and my friend's I suppose, but I won't work with them again. The owners are fantastic, but that guy in the store is a complete jerk. Super rude. I'll never go back and I'll tell my friends to not co-sign with them, because they may lie and say they sold your stuff for less so they can't give you less when in reality, that may not be the case. read more

The inventory was varied enough that a wide range of people would have found something to love, and we found a couch that was modern, comfortable, in good condition, and reasonably priced. Worst furniture purchase ever!!! My wife purchased a dresser from them. When it was delivered we noticed that all the drawers did not open and close properly. We contacted the owner and he said that we must have broke it and he wouldn't refund the $400 we paid for it. We never used the dresser...we did not break it. Finally we got him to take it back on consignment. He said if he doesn't sell it he will give it to goodwill. Even if he did sell it we'd only get half our money back. To date we haven't heard from him. We wasted $400 at this store for absolutely nothing! Bottom line-make sure you are absolutely sure of the item you are buying as there is NO customer service after they TAKE your money! In response to Joey's remarks. You are a flat out LIAR! When we bought the dresser at your store we did not open and close all the drawers and wrongly assumed you would not sell a piece of crap dresser. Obviously we were wrong as the dresser drawers would not close properly upon delivery. You are a manipulating thief I don't care if you give a 10% discount for calling me names (nice business practice by the way), I just want your customers to know if they pay 90% of the purchase price for crap, it's still crap. By the way, if you would have done the right thing and refunded us for the broken dresser it would have been cheaper than the business you lost due to this review. read more

I recently purchased an "Italian writing desk" in two toned wood (dark and light) and an original painting here (watercolor on silk) and had a great experience. The young man helping us was very helpful and friendly and even took an offer I made on the desk after consulting the owner on the phone. They also agreed to store the desk until I can pick it up in a few weeks at no charge which is very nice and convenient for me. The store is not very large but has a lot of furniture and other household items and decorations tucked away all throughout the store. It's a beautiful store with lots of treasures. Just my kind of place. We looked around for about a half an hour and I could have spent much more time here. Much of the furniture was attractive and in good shape and the prices were reasonable. I'm disappointed I hadn't visited before as I've driven by hundreds of times. Their sister store is Ballard Consignment. No returns on any items so buy carefully! read more

I love affordable consignment shops with a variety of interesting things for sell. The Furniture Guy is one of them. I didn't detect any strange smells, which is a huge plus for a consignment store. The store is on the smaller side, but they manage to pack in a lot of furniture and wall art. They also had some unique lamps and light fixtures. As you might guess from the store name, this isn't the place to go for clothes or accessories. I didn't find anything on my first visit, but I'll be back. read more

I do love this store. This shop is owned by the same person as the one in Ballard. Although it's not as big, there is still a great selection of stuff and the staff is just as great as the one in Ballard. Prices are still kinda high for a consignment shop, but this is also great quality items with a mix of new and old. Great neighborhood shop. read more

Today I was finally able to pick up the mid century side board I bought here a few weeks ago. Im happy to say I still love it as much as when I purchased it. When we walked into the store we were greeted warmly by David, He had such a great attitude not in a "have a nice day way" but a genuine happy to see you and happy to be doing what he was doing way, it got our day off to a positive start. Super helpful in loading it into my friends SUV. It really is refreshing to run across someone as courteous and outgoing as David. I always drive past this store and never have time to go in. A Couple days ago I was in the area and had some free time, thought I would check it out since they did a nice job with the outside. I walked in and the inside was well thought out. The inside is large and has a large selection of furniture, lamps and shelves full of collectibles and evrything was nicely put together, not all messy and hard to walk around. The lady there was very pleasent and greeted me when I walked in and asked if I was looking for anything,( I was just killing time) but said no thanks. I also notice the inside had many lights on, nobody likes to walk in a dark store( well I don't) makes it look like they don't want you to see what your buying. I actually found a nice tile table there. I did need one, the price was already reasonable at $120, but it doesn't hurt to ask for a discount. I offered $100 and she thought for a couple seconds and said she would take that price. My overall experience was very nice. I would ignore Tammy W, review. Not many owners will call you if you had a bad experience in there store and grant her a discount. The whole review sounds strange and really just wasted a minute out of my life reading it. When I have time I always check back to see if they have any new treasures. read more
