Great group of guys! Showed up on time, if not a couple minutes early which I was thrilled about. They had no trouble hanging a couple TVs even though it was through wood paneling with stone on the other side of the wall. Tvs look great and they took care of several plugs that were faulty including replacement of some with additional USB ports. These increasingly complicated days are frustrating enough in terms of reliable household services so when electrical issues arise such as after storms, recent heavy rains, brownouts or new EV purchases dependability is everything! In our case, we bought a new EV and needed a plug for home charging and within a short time it was established. "Going electric" is really a steep learning curve and so after the plug was put in we weren't sure which level 2 home charger to select. The owner came over the next day to inspect the different jobs and provided me a fast and reasonable quote. So we are selling our home and moron home inspector with Amerispec shorts out something and have a blown breaker on New Years Eve Day and everyone is unavailable until the Monday after New Year's - except for Ballard Electric, who was booked but squeezed me in because they had workers nearby who finished a job a bit early. Frank was prompt with a return call and very efficient in assessing the problem and advising as to estimated costs and repair issues. The electricians showed at the time expected and, after an exhaustive search, found what was causing the short and fixed it in addition to a few of the wiring issues along the way. Both of the electricians on site were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Obviously we are moving (but only an hour south) so Ballard Electric will be our go to from now on. read more

I called Ballard Electric when half of the electricity in my house went out (at 3pm) and I couldn't get any information online from SCE. He advised me it was most likely a SCE issue but said he would come out if it made me feel more comfortable. I filed a report with SCE and waited until 5pm and hadn't received any updates. I called Don back and he was kind enough to come out after hours himself to check everything out while I waited for SCE to respond to my report. He confirmed that it was a SCE issue and helped identify that there was an issue at the electric box (it was very hot). Even though he wasn't able fix the problem, he was so kind and helpful. I will be calling him for any electrical work we have in the future and highly recommend him. read more

Not very happy with the damage done during the replacement of my electrical box. The electrician used a hammer to break the stucco to make room for the electrical box, rather than use a saw, and did a lot of damage in the process. In all fairness their quote states that they do not do any repair stucco work, but it seems to give their employees a right of way to do as much damage as they like. The hammering also damaged the inside wall. They also drilled a 1" hole through my concrete slab that apparently was a mistake because they did not use it, rather they left it open for mice, insects, and water to damage my foundation. They also drilled two 1" holes for the ground stakes that they also left open. Then, knowing that it was going to rain the next day, they covered the giant hole and electrical box with a tarp using duct tape. The only problem is that duct tape does not stick to stucco and they forgot to close the electrical box, so my new electrical box was rain soaked. When I called them they told me that they were not responsible for rain damage. They did say they would come out and fix the other problems but that meant I would have to take a day off work to be there. I also asked three different employees to give me a quote to put in a 220v outlet which they never provided or acknowledged. The only reason I gave them three stars is because they were all nice people. However, I cannot recommend them for any electrical work. read more

It started with a good honest and fair estimate, I did my home work on them with the CSLB and yelp and they passed with flying colors! I had a really frustrating flickering light problem that had been going on for a long time. I had at least two electricians come-out prior to Ballard and both electricians did not find the problem, but Peter at Ballard did. Peter listened to my problem, didn't rush, and carefully troubleshot the issue until he found the problem. After checking several things, he did extensive and careful work to gain full access to a painted-over subpanel area and subsequently he found a loose wire. The loose wire was properly secured and the flickering has stopped. There's nothing like someone who is dedicated to their craft and who is dedicated to actually making a difference for the customer. I needed to get an EV Home charging station set up in my garage so I decided to call Ballard electric based on the great reviews. Talked to Frank Ballard and he was quick to respond and pretty informative, he also gave me a very fair pricing. Had no problem with scheduling that same week, and they showed up on time. They set up a NEMA 14-50 plug required for the charger and the charger itself. So far it works great!
