I used Ballard Enterprises to give me some curb appeal with my townhome. The workers were very professional and polite. The office was a different story. Very rude women, Maddie/Maggie I think her name is. I was trying to go over my bill with her. Terrible attitude and rude. I would not recommend Ballard Enterprises based on terrible customer service. One of my neigbors did inquire of the job that was done and was going to recommend Ballard. Ms. Maddi/Maggie was so rude hung up the phone one me. No recommendation from me. I needed two mature crepe myrtles cut down by a third, three smaller trees about 12 feet tall pruned, and two sizeable branches about 50 feet high on a 100-foot-tall mature elm removed, a holly trimmed and the ground around it injected with fertilizer, a large, wide privet seriously trimmed, and an overgrown hydranga trimmed. Pruning the elm looked like it would be perilous. I dared not to watch. But the fellow who did it just danced through the branches with exquisite aplomb with never a slip. The crew of four men were prompt in arriving, fully competent, courteous and cleaned everything up. The cost met the quite tolerable estimate to a dime, withot a hint of haggling. I have used Ballard for about seven years. They are profession in that they follow strict safety procedures, wear proper equipment for their teams, and they use the newest methods to cut down Very large trees without damage to shrubbery, fences, and outside items. Ballard cleans up all debris and sweeps driveways clean after all the work is done. Ballard gives you a definitive estimate of the cost weeks before the job begins. I keep records of the costs and I have compared it to others. They are very reasonable for the type of work done. I had one "drive by" individual who asked if I needed to take a tree down that had been hit lightning. When I asked the salesperson what his price to remove was, I was given a cost that was 3 times more than what Ballard had given me. So, I think Ballard is in a good price range for what they do. Finally, safety is important. I don't think you want anyone falling from a tree on your property. It can ruin everyones day. I was very happy with their performance. They were professional with the estimates that included pictures. I picked the jobs I wanted included in this visit and keep the last job for later. The work was completed and the expected results were great! I will mention that some companies give low estimates and suggest the need for more work once they get to your house. My estimate was doubled and a large limb fell on my mailbox that caused a dent and left it open to leaks. No one bothered to inform me. read more

We recently had Ballard do some basic landscaping work for us, and we were highly impressed. We had a crepe myrtle pruned; several bushes pulled out; and a long, narrow swath of really old flower bed re-done. The crepe myrtle was pruned professionally, and after Ballard had removed the bushes, it was as if they had never been there. With the re-bedding, they ground the old bed out that had deeply-embedded ground cover; then they cleaned that out, placed topsoil in, and covered it with mulch. They talked extensively with us to make sure they were setting the new bed's boundaries just like we wanted. They then cleaned up completely, leaving everything looking fantastic. DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! They have inflated prices! If I could give a 0 I would. I had Ballard come out to at the beginning of Sept to give me an estimate on work for landscaping beds and tree removal. Found them Angies List had a somewhat good rating but after reading these reviews, these seem more truthful as the quote was exaggerated and I requested service to be complete within 2 weeks and they sent a proposal with no date to start the project but noted within 30 days!!! GTFOH! How does a quick turnaround within 2 weeks equate 30 days to potentially start. So I found someone else and they completed the work within 5 days of coming out and assessing the work and that included the weekend!!!!!!! Now that I changed my mind about their inflated estimate and chose someone else they want to stick me with a $250 contract cancellation fee plus 5% contract value. Dont EVER USE THIS COMPANY they are a rip off! read more

I hired this company to install new sod for two small areas of the lawn that died. The service team came out and did a good job preparing the area and laying the sod. Upon completion, I inquired about the steps needed to adequately maintain the new area and was told to water twice over day for 30 mins to ensure that the sod takes to the subsoil. I purchased an irrigation system to ensure that the area received the necessary irrigation; however, three weeks after, I noticed that areas of the newly installed sod began browning again. I reached out to the company to request a service call and was told that I overwatered the new sod and that it was not covered by warranty. This was unacceptable and I requested leadership to intervene. Over three weeks passed and I finally receive a call back: The best that I was offered was a partial replacement of 5 sod rolls for $500... UNACCEPTABLE. This is more than half that than the amount that was charged for the original installation. The issue was never corrected and now must seek to complete the replacement myself. NOT GOOD! read more

The crews are well trained, professional, polite and are very customer oriented. They can handle any job from the removal of 70' towering oaks to leaf removal and landscaping needs. Great experience with delivered bulk mulch. Quick to respond to quote, good comms, good pricing, reasonable delivery fee. The delivery guy did a fantastic job. He kept it all to the side of the driveway, and as we're up a slope, shoveled it out by hand though he could have said "can't do it" and put it at the end of the driveway. He was also careful about the flags we have attached to a tree next to the driveway. Top rate. The mulch looks good and was well priced. read more

Requested a stump removal and repair of lawn in remaining/adjacent area. Ms. Utility was never contacted, only 1/2 of job was initially completed, contacting the service rep was difficult, and then when a new technician came to complete the job, his repair of my yard was incomplete (edges of area were left without soil/seed/straw). I ended up completing the lawn repair myself. Owner did reduce the price by about approximately 30%, but the overall on site service I experienced was unacceptable (the customer service rep at the business was excellent, though). Given the troubles I experienced, I expected to be contacted by the owner. I will not use Ballard Enterprises again. read more

I ordered the firewood late last week and it was delivered on Monday morning. Joey, The young man who delivered and stacked the firewood, did a wonderful job. I had an unpleasant experience with Ballard Enterprises. My firewood was stolen. I ordered firewood from them and nobody contacted me about the timing of the delivery ahead of time. I wanted to be home when the wood was delivered. The driver called me at about 10.00 am on the day of delivery, as he arrived with the truckload of firewood. I was at work, and in meetings that morning, so my phone was not nearby. He left me a message to call him back to confirm the location where the wood should be dumped. Without waiting for my call-back and confirmation, he dumped the wood in a common area 10 minutes later. Another voicemail that I wasn't aware of at the time was left stating that the wood was dropped off. By the time I checked my voicemail, there was no way for me to leave work to get to the wood. I would have expected direct communication from the company prior to dropping off the wood, because I really wanted to be home when arrived. It was dumped in an area that is vulnerable and not secure. When I called to report that my wood was stolen, I did not get a favorable response from the office. I called a second time to merely ask if they would consider waiving the delivery fee and possibly offer a partial credit. Considering the total loss of $313 I didn't think that my request was unreasonable. I would have expected a fair compromise considering the lack of communication before delivering the wood. I have given my business to this company in the past and recommended them to many of my friends and I'm disappointed that they didn't treat me like a valuable customer. read more

WE found Tim online and called him. A tree had come down across our front lawn during the overnight storm, it was 7:30am. By 9 Tim was at our door with a full quote he had already emailed to my husband! We had some additional things we wanted done, he complied wrote it out on his tablet in his quote, sent the changes in an email to our email and also his office. 2 hours later a crew arrived and removed a 50 foot tree from our yard and the gardens. They left our yard looking neat, tidy and all the debris gone. I was beyond pleased and would most definitely recommend them! They exceeded our expectations. What a company! read more
