I cannot express enough how much I appreciate the incredible work that Christy from Ballard Enterprises did for my property. Before the project, my lawn was practically non-existent, and the landscape was in dire need of a complete overhaul. With a half-acre of land and four flower beds in total, it was a massive undertaking. But Christy rose to the challenge and exceeded my expectations. She tackled the most difficult challenge of creating a stunning visual display of color and contrast in the "dead" zone under a large canopy of trees. Christy managed to overcome this obstacle by creating a massive bed, using a careful selection of hostas. The result was beyond anything I could have imagined. In addition to the stunning transformation of the "dead" zone, Christy reworked all four of my flower beds, creating a centerpiece of carefully selected plants that ran the length of my driveway. The end result was a beautiful, cohesive landscape that truly exceeded my expectations. Overall, I am so grateful for Christy's attention to detail, availability, responsiveness, and unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. They came and we reviewed the work we wanted. Then, they submitted a very detailed estimate. They were not the lowest bidder, but the detail in the proposal convinced us that they would do everything following thoroughly safe procedures that would minimize the potential for damage to our house and fence, and that this required heavy equipment not in the other proposals. We settled on a range of potential dates for the work. Then, at the last minute, they said they couldn't make any of the agreed upon dates, but offered to do it the next week when they knew that we would be out of town. We decided to do it on that date rather than suffer further delay. Well, when we came back from our vacation everything appeared to be done completely, and exactly, as we had discussed (and as described in the proposal). They did use the heavy equipment as my yard was torn up, but not too bad considering the equipment used, and it recovered quickly. They cleaned up so thoroughly that, except for the tracks in the grass, you could hardly tell that they were here. In the end we were completely, and totally, satisfied; but without observed them, I cannot evaluate whether or not the extra care and equipment was really required and worth the extra cost. read more

I have used Ballard for about seven years. They are profession in that they follow strict safety procedures, wear proper equipment for their teams, and they use the newest methods to cut down Very large trees without damage to shrubbery, fences, and outside items. Ballard cleans up all debris and sweeps driveways clean after all the work is done. Ballard gives you a definitive estimate of the cost weeks before the job begins. I keep records of the costs and I have compared it to others. They are very reasonable for the type of work done. I had one "drive by" individual who asked if I needed to take a tree down that had been hit lightning. When I asked the salesperson what his price to remove was, I was given a cost that was 3 times more than what Ballard had given me. So, I think Ballard is in a good price range for what they do. Finally, safety is important. I don't think you want anyone falling from a tree on your property. It can ruin everyones day. Don't use day laborers, amateurs, or 2 person group unless the are removing shrubs only. Get Ballard and know that no one will get hurt. Allen B read more

First time using Ballard Enterprises. We found them using 2024 Edition of Howard County Best Pick Reports. Paul came out to give us the free estimate, he did not rush and walked us through the trees and shrubs on our end unit townhouse (we have been here 30+ years, so we have planted some shrubs, trees, and nature has added it's share also). The estimate was complete and easy to understand and within the range we were expecting. The actual service exceeded our expectations - the crew arrived on time, eagerly got to work, and did a wonderful job. The cleanup left no evidence they were there! We have 5 trees in the 20-35 year range and various shrubs and woody plants. We could not believe how much better the place looks ... They thinned branches and restored a better balance and openness, and shape the taller shrubs so well. We will be using them again to help keep things in good order and would recommend them strongly! So far I have just interacted with the person who provides the estimate for the work. First, the software and procedures Ballard uses fir making an estimate sre really outstanding. Pictures and description of each tree to dealt with. I have never seen a more detailed estimate of the work. I went with Ballard over another similar company because of the detailed estimate. You know what you are supposed to be getting and how much each procedure will cost. That being said, I have a few nits. First, the scheduler screwed up the first appointment. I was told a day and time, but the estimator was not informed about the appointment. Easily corrected, but I did have to set aside a few hours early in the morning for no reason. Second, and it should be noted I had a long list of trees to get through, the estimator left off a few minor trees on the first estimate, but quickly corrected the estimate when I brought it to his attention. By and large, dealing with Ballard has, thus for, been a very pleasant. experience. read more

We have had many services done by Ballard Enterprises and they never disappoint. Tree removal, pruning and planting, lawn maintenance, landscape and hardscape. All of the crews are extremely professional, friendly and care about the work they are performing. We have had some very large trees removed from over top of our house and I was never once concerned about the safety of my home. I could tell that the employees were some of the best and cared about the safety of everyone and everything around them. The stone work we had done is one of my favorite things! My large oak died at the end of the summer and since I had recently received an advertisement from Ballard I contacted them. The tree posed real problems because moving large machinery close to it was impossible and it was very close to a patio and plantings that had to be protected. Ballard's crew understood my concerns and took the care necessary. They even put down a solid path to minimize disturbing the ground with the small tractor used in moving sections of cut wood. I contacted Ballard concerning some trees/bushes that needed to be removed to allow sunlight into the front windows. These trees also caused security problems, as well as, provided a safe space for the local rodents. Mr. Fox came out, assessed the problem with professionalism and knowledge. I was very impressed with this company. I had 14 extremely large evergreens that I needed removed. They arrived early in the morning and 6 hours later, the trees were down, the stumps were removed and the yard was completely cleaned up. I was off work that day and watched them work and I was very impressed. All the men were very friendly too. I would recommend them to anyone. The Ballard team did all the prep work by hand, no heavy equipment in our driveway or yard. They quickly prepped the yard and laid the sod in one afternoon. All I had to do was water. The team removed a very large tree that was threatening the house. The guys were miracle workers. They brought the limbs down safely and without damage to the rest of the property. It was truly amazing to watch. After the heavy lifting was finished the team cleaned everything up so that there was no evidence that work had been done........except the tree was gone. read more
