Finally at 60 years old I brought my first brand new car. I knew what model of car that I wanted to get but I was never sat down and had the option packages explained to me. Its very sad that I was pushed and that the sales manager only thought that I wanted to least expensive options. And they were very pushy on scheduling time and dates to sign things. Got in a car accident a few years ago and had work done by the collision center here. Turns out they didnt actually do most of the work that needed to be done and i didnt find out until another place refused to do warranty work because of how terrible the work was by Ballas GMC. Drivers door is sagging off. Both drivers side door strikers are loose. Drivers side airbags missing/not installed properly. Drivers side seatbelt cut in half during B pillar replacement and never replaced. Floor is literally caving in On drivers side of vehicle. Please take your car somewhere else. I am saying this from a safety standpoint this place could literally kill you. read more

Paid cash for a used vehicle that ended up having several issues. One issue was taken care of by the service dept, very nice and very courteous, Cody was amazing at explaining everything and so much patience with a upset customer. Sales, that's another issue. Power steering lines were leaking when they received it as trade in and didn't fix it before putting on the lot. Now I have a check engine and several codes and they refuse to fix it. There is less than 1000 miles out on it from when I purchased it. Been in shop and sat because, I made 2 trips just for the line. It took 2 weeks to get the parts and have it done. On way home 1st trip, I used the wipers and it shut the vehicle down, I tried again, did the same thing. J Harris wasn't concerned because it wasn't happening at the moment. Even tho I had check engine, a messed up wiper from whatever electrical issue that happened, he didn't even offer to replace the wiper blade. The vehicle never should have been sold especially, for the price paid. Now I have to somehow figure a way to get all these parts replaced because, they refuse to make it right. I do not recommend buying from the used lot. Obviously the inspection wasn't done properly and they don't want happy customers. read more

I wish the owner would contact me so that I could teach them how they could sell more cars, have happier customers and happier employees and make more money but you have to share the cost of the vehicle with the people. read more

Being a business owner of 19 years I am not the type of person to ever leave bad reviews about other businesses but I'm in complete shock and MAJOR disappointment as to what just happened to me with this dealership today. In my 19 years of business I have NEVER and would NEVER treat a customer the way I was treated today. If I did, I would not be in business for as long as I have. I have been waiting 8 months for a specific vehicle I have been looking for and called this dealership about 6 months ago about the vehicle that was listed on their website that was in transit. Was told I was first on the list when it comes in. I got a call yesterday that it came in and had 1 hour to get there if I wanted to buy it. I live and work over an hour away from this dealership so I rescheduled my work day AND an MRI I was scheduled for that afternoon to drive there to purchase this vehicle. I was told they called 3 people off of the waitlist for this vehicle and I was the FIRST one there to buy it! I was more then ecstatic. We discussed the down payment and they ran my credit, I signed all paperwork including the financial paperwork for the loan I was taking out through them and told it was a done deal but after being there for over 2 hours I was told I couldn't take it home at that time because the vehicle just came in and they needed to prep it and was asked if I could come back the next day to pick it up after 10 am. So I told them I would reschedule my day again for the next day and I would be there at noon to pick it up. In the time I was there, other people that they called showed up to purchase this same vehicle but was told since I was the first one there it was mine. And was told that the manager was upset cause apparently he wanted to sell it first (I'm assuming he had someone lined up for it too cause he wasn't happy that I was there first to purchase it). At that time I was extremely happy with the decision I made with dropping everything I had going on to get there to purchase this vehicle before anyone else got there because I have been waiting a long time to purchase this vehicle. The next day I got a call at 10 am and was asked if we could reschedule the pickup for the following day because they had to install some things on the vehicle and needed to finish prepping it. Ofcourse I said I would come pick it up the following day even though I was having to reschedule another workday again, but have been wanting this vehicle for so long I was willing to be patient and work with them on their schedule. Later that evening...after their business hours ofcourse, I get a voicemail left by the general sales manager telling me that they decided to not sell me the car and was going to sell it to the next person in line....I was told that he's the sales manager and he's allowed to sell it to whoever he wants and even though they ran my credit, financed me and ALL paperwork was already signed...he decided he will not sell it to me and they are selling it to the next person in line. I feel like I got screwed big time! I have a perfect credit score, that is now effected by all of this without getting the vehicle I legally signed for and financed through them to be left with NOTHING! Very very disappointed and cannot fathom how this is legal. I could never, would never treat a customer like this. I guess the moral of the story is, if you're a general sales manager at a dealership you can act like you're something much bigger then you actually are to get what you want. I have tried to be patient with Ballas Buick, but I will never buy or lease a car from there ever again. Most importantly I will never get my car serviced there again! The whole service department is a rip-off. I took my car in on February 28th because I kept getting a message that my engine was overheating. When I took it in they told me they flushed my cooling system and there was a leak in my radiator pipe, and it would allegedly take a week or so to get the part in. The part supposedly arrived early because the called me 2 days later saying they could start the work on my car. The service cost me roughly $1300. The 2nd and 3rd week (March 8, and March 16) after I picked my car up the same message came on again, I called the dealership back and told them I was having the same problem. They told me to bring my car back in, when I picked my car up I was told that another flush was done and the brand new part they just put on my car was defective. A few weeks later April 13 and April 29 the exact same message came up again. I called the dealership back to tell them I am still having the same problem. The same flush has now been done for a 3rd time for the same problem I initially brought my car in for, but now I am being told that I need water outlet gaskets and a water pump. The dealership had the audacity to tell me that it was going to cost me $1700 to fix but they could give me a $200 discount. Why should I pay you twice for fixing the same problem you never fixed the first or second time, especially when the same test was done all 3 times to determine the problem. I told 3 different things on 3 different occasions about the same problem! At this point you are guessing what is wrong. I tried to call Marianne Ballas to address my concerns with her, and big surprise she never got back to me. This dealership is trash!!!! Never again! read more

I was in the market for a new truck and Randy was my salesman I dealt with, I don't know if he doesn't know what he's talking about at all or is a pathological liar but almost every thing he said was false or contradicted by his own words 5 minutes later. I will not do business with an organization that hires the people who give salesmen a bad reputation. After I left he proceeded to text me and all it seemed like was he was trying to do was get the last word. Grow up. They also add on prices to their vehicles they don't make sense, I get it inflation is tough but don't preach how you're the only dealer in the area that isn't marking up MSRP then proceed to add $3000 to the total price and justify it by saying you put an extra coat of wax on the car. They also offered me 27,000 on my trade in which I then traded in two weeks later at another dealer for 34,000. Dropped car off for an oil change got it back smelling of weed. Lorenzo was an absolute jerk didn't care pointed to 2 older men said do they look like they smoke weed? First off weed has no age limit and I don't know them. After walking around trying to get someone a lady offered me to bring it back another day to get cleaned. Also had a check engine light and John couldn't even give me a ball park of price refused to see if covered on warranty and said minimum $500 probably more. Will not ever recommend them. They didn't even call me when car was done I walked back from store saw it parked. read more

When I brought my car in for a oil change and tire rotation this is the 3rd time they didn't reset the sensors and it was obvious they did not rotate the tires because they were all at the same levels they were when they were brought in. Each time I leave for basic maintenance, my car runs worse than when I brought it in. The desk people cover for the poor work of the mechanics and the owners do not care. This is not a well run service center. Just don't go there. They are not doing the work they are paid to do. read more

Only reason that I give a single star is because I can't pick 0 stars. Ballas service department are rip offs and scam customers out of money. My Buick LaCrosse would not start and I had to have it towed to Ballas. I was charged $100 diagnostic fee and they told me that it was my starter so I told them to go ahead and replace it. They did. I picked up my car and a day or two later, it was having issues starting again...so the starter was not the issue. I took it back and now they told me that it was my "aftermarket" battery that was only 4 months old. Being desperate, I authorized them to replace it. The next day after I pick it up, it did not want to start. I ended up buying a new car so I had something reliable to get to work. On a hunch, I replaced the batteries in my key fobs and the car has been starting without hesitation every time. Between towing, diagnostic fee, the starter, a battery (all parts that I didn't need), car rentals, I paid $2500! None of the repairs solved the problems and $25 worth of key fob batteries did. The service manager at Ballas told me that the key fob batteries solving the starting issues "was just a coincidence." I would not trust Ballas service department to fix my lawnmower. To add insult to injury, I talked to the manager of the dealership to look into this issue, and she listened to my concerns.......but NEVER contacted me back. Ballas dealerships customer service has a lot to be desired. Do yourself a big favor and steer clear of this place. read more

I no longer live in Toledo, but was visiting my parents one weekend and was involved in an accident that resulted in a wheel needing replaced. I wasn't able to get my retrieve my vehicle from the towing service until 4:00... Needing to get back to Columbus the next day, I started looking for a new wheel and every tire shop and dealer seemed to be out of my size or wouldn't install it so late in the evening. By the time I called Ballas, it was 4:30... The man in the parts department said he could get me the wheel but couldn't guarantee install. It was 4:45 when I got to Ballas... After I paid for my wheel, the parts employee told that his manager had talked to the service manager and would install the wheel the same day! Since it was so close to closing time, it was a pleasant surprise that they offered... Nick M. in service was very welcoming and helpful during the experience. They stayed an extra hour to ensure that my wheel wasn't only installed, but that the accident didn't damage the brakes, suspension, or steering systems. I was even a coupon for a discounted alignment and oil change! Even though I no longer live in the area, I would be more than happy to make the 2.5 hour drive to buy another vehicle here... After having a not so great experience in service a couple years ago, I have to say that my last few experiences have been wonderful. Chad Johnson in new car sales has gone above and beyond taking care of me when I decided to lease a new vehicle and continues to do so some 8 months later. Service has also treated me well since leasing the new vehicle. I think I just need to chalk my previous bad experience as fluke and an isolated incident. I only require 2 things from people with whom I do business. Be honest and do your job. I took my car in for a 16 point inspection which didn't include a battery check. They missed the fact that I need a new ball joint when they rotated my tires. Then they told me I needed a new transmission line because it was leaking. I hadn't seen any drops or low transmission fluid. My grandfather is a mechanic and I had him check the transmission line. It wasn't leaking. From now on I'm going to Belletire or AAA. They've never lied to me, and they found the ball joint issue. read more

I was disappointed to see that the cashier and the long time receptionist was no longer working. The service man John was trying to answer the phone calls and dealing with multiple customers at the same time. I feel he did a great job considering he had no help. I had called once before thanksgiving and another time after to schedule some maintenance on my Buick and was told someone would call me back but no one did. After the third and final attempt was able to talk with John to get my Buick in for service. Instead, they kept trying to reach me on an old number Ballas had on file for me. I kept trying to reach the department - both Service and Collision - and both would ring and then redirect back to the front desk. I Took are 2008 acadia in for airbag recall and see why airconditing was not working they called said car needed motor mounts bad and air needed a evaperator 1750.00 I said i would pick it up when done with recall repair was compleated,they never called,i took it to a shop i do bussiness with ;he advised me nothing was wrong with motor mounts i had all ready purchased,and air cond,was over charged,he repaired it ,it did not need a evaporator 1750.00 but a dryer that cost 189,00 plus recharge the service advisers name was john a millenbaugh date was may 15/2015 needless to say i did not find the experarance all that pleasent as the other happy folks did on this blog, i will not go back for any reason,service or to buy a car.. barry p . slyvania ohio read more

So I've been using my mom's car. It started saying the car was running hot, each time I took it in they would hook it up and I was told it wasn't saying anything was wrong and to just put more antifreeze in. Then it started saying it was running hot again but it was also making jerking movements when I would stop and a light. I took it in and they finally look at it and come back with a blown head gasket with could be fixed for 5600 with a used engine. I pick the vehicle up and let my mom decide what to do. About a week after they looked at it, whenever you would start the car it would make this weird grinding noise. So about two weeks later the car cuts off on me and is towed to ballas either the next day or the day after. My mom decided to spend 6900 and put a new engine in. The same day she gets it back a friend noticed it was still making the grinding noise when it started up and we couldn't program any radio stations and the ac wouldn't turn off. She took it back to them the next day and they said the starter was bad and that they didn't hear it grinding when they started it up. I call bs, how can you work on cars everyday and not notice that sound when others noticed it. They also said they didn't touch the ac so that had nothing to do with them but it was working before the car cut off on me. They just got paid 7000 and thought that charging her 200 to fix the starter was offering her a deal. They are shady and all about money. My mom is a loyal customer who has bought several vehicles from them and they are trying to milk her for every dollar they can get. When I buy my car I refuse to do business with ballas and I hope she never buys another car from them again. Shame on ballas service department. read more

Before purchasing an extra 4 button remote key at iKeyless.com for my 2011 GMC Terrain vehicle, I called the Service Dept. at this particular dealership to see how much they would charge to cut the key. They quoted $30 plus tax. After buying the key, I scheduled an appointment at the service department. I waited an hour in their waiting room before the service manager came out to apologize, saying their key cutting machine broke down and I would have to come back. 3 weeks later, they called me, saying their machine was fixed and I could come back. When I did, they cut the key WRONG (it would unlock the door, but not turn the engine). They claimed that iKeyless sent me the wrong key for my vehicle and refused granting me a refund. They happily said that I could order another key through them and would only have to pay $130! I said no thanks, and called iKeyless' customer service dept. Their manager sent me a pre-paid overnight label free so that I could mail the key back to them. They in turn cut the key for me (cost was $49 including tax, but they have a 100% money back guarantee), and mailed it back 2 days later. I now have a working key thanks to iKeyless, but am doubtful that Ballas will ever refund me as they refuse to return my voice mail messages. Will not do business with Ballas ever again! read more
