Oh I love the room! Very nice!
    Vanessa T.

We needed a room for one night in providence this place came up in a search and the price was good $100 for the night and it looked nice, great, booked it! I knew it said it was in a casino but no big deal it's just for one night. when we arrived we all laughed this is a HUGE casino! You have to walk thru the casino to get to the hotel and it was crazy in there! Lol!! Crazy lights flashing, people everywhere and shockingly, smoking inside! Thankfully the hotel is non smoking and didn't have that stale smoke smell, actually the hotel was quite nice, modern, clean I really liked our room, the beds were very comfy! The next thing was we wanted to get dinner, oh look there is like 20 options of food IN the casino, awesome! We all went walking down to go find dinner, but to our surprise we were stopped and told no one under 18 allowed in the casino! What!? We had kids with us so we had to send them back up to the room while we got food to take up to the room, weird they wouldn't let us eat down there.

    Standard hallway.

We were immediately impressed with how beautiful the grounds were, there were lots of beautiful flowers, magnificent water views, and abundant charm. We had an amazing time touring the house and grounds. Our guide, Maggie, was excellent, she shared interesting details and told the story of the Smith-Appleby family with humor and pride. We were most impressed at the sustainability of the homestead and how it has served this family for nearly 300 years. It was an absolute privilege to spend time here and we felt very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend the morning touring the buildings and grounds, including a visit to the family cemetery at the front on the property. Tours cost $5 per person and a yearly membership is only $20.

They give tours the third Sunday of the month from 1 - 4 , so plan accordingly! It was a beautiful day... I have to say the grounds are lovely. What a great place to just enjoy a short stroll. My son enjoyed picking up sticks and poking around the small stream that runs down from the road. We also took a look at the graveyard with all the old stones. The house itself is very interesting with a few things I'd never seen before. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone there was very welcoming and we just had a really nice afternoon... my son ,who is 7, really enjoyed it as well. A great local place to visit, especially on a nice day. I'll be back to check out some of the events that they hold periodically.

Awesome awesome awesome!…read more We used this space for my sister's bridal shower (around 55 people in attendance) and couldn't be more pleased! First off, the space is very accessible right on Mendon Road. It's a newer space owned by the same people that own Angelo's next door. There is good natural lighting, ample parking outdoors, TVs, and a full bar inside the event area. Also, since it's a newer build, the technology is updated with a sound system and enough outlets to charge different devices. The space itself is in the the same building as Angelo's, and separated by a wall from the Angelo's dining room, but the food is catered by the same kitchen. When walking in, there's a small area to the right with bathrooms and coat closet/storage. To the left is where the main event space is located, along with the bar inside. We were planning the shower out of state, so a lot of the communication with the owners was through email and phone. Working with the owners was super easy and they were very prompt in answering questions leading up to the day. The shower was on a Saturday morning, and the owners were kind enough to give us the space the night before to set up and bring in items so there was that much less to do in the morning. I felt they were so nice with accommodating all our requests from food, to utilization of space, to even last minute things that we didn't know we needed. Day of, they had enough staff on hand to set up tables and any other requests that we needed. They provided all the linen and utensils, as well as servers to bring the food out (since we did a buffet) and then later clean up. They do not allow outside caterers for food, but do allow outside dessert. For the amount of people we had, there was seating for everyone, plus tables for gifts/food/dessert and still some open area to get some games and activities going. We didn't need a bartender since it was a dry event, but as part of the rental, we were given unlimited soft drinks and water (woot!) Overall - really happy with the service and the space accommodations. I think it can serve a number of different types of events and it's a great location from an access standpoint. Time to plan the next party!

She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house. I wish they had a parking garage built close to it, so people can enjoy the venue and focus on the event, instead of having to deal with parking. One of the major works of William R. Walker & Son, this building was built in 1894-5. Built of red brick with granite and limestone trim, it has a distinctive main block, with crenellated towers at the corners, and is prominently sited near Pawtucket's central business district. I was here for the first time during the RI Brew Fest. The large interior allowed for many vendors and partons alike. The one drawback is the facilities - bathrooms are an issue here, so with large crowds, that presents quite a problem. Parking, while available, isn't nearly as ample as the space itself, so that's another reason why I've docked it one star. However, I truly love this place and can't wait to host my own event here someday.
