We go to Twin River Casino if we want to just go for a few hours as it is somewhat closer than Foxwood's and Mohegan. I personally don't like it much it always seems dingy and seems to draw an older crowd as it doesn't have many popular current singers at the concerts. The point system is absolutely terrible 1 penny for every $100 you spend as opposed to $1 per $100 at Mohegan and Foxwood's. The non-smoking area is on the 2nd floor and doesn't even have a high roller room. Doesn't offer anything for kids which while I wouldn't take off any stars for that alone it is nice if you have to bring a child to have a small arcade or some attraction for them. Also the first time we went with a child while they can walk outside the casino (obviously) they wouldn't let her eat at the Johnny Rockets on the 2nd floor which is outside the casino. I went to Twin River the other weekend with some friends from school.... one of the best places we've ever been! It had tons of cool restaurants and bars. Everyone there was really nice and it was a fun crowd! We were really impressed with all the different types of entertainment they had here. Great shows were always playing... comedy and bands and stuff. There was also so many slot machines and gambling games. Restaurants all looked sooooo good... we went to Fred and Steve's it was a steakhouse and I'm serious when I say all our plates were clean! This place is great to meet new people or bring your friends! Loved it and am going back soon! read more

I'm very disappointed that they brought back smoking. We are just coming off of a pandemic of an illness that attacks the lungs. I'm sure many people are still having lung issues including the workers. And now you are subjecting your workers to secondhand smoke which is not only detrimental to their lungs but could still spread Covid as well as put them at greater risk of cancer. Talk about profits before health. All the other casinos in New England are now non smoking. Smokers will still go gamble if your casino is non smoking because they will have no choice. You are losing business from the non smokers as they will go to the smoke free casinos. In fact according to the CDC only 14% of the US population are smokers. Time to get with the times and move forward and eliminate smoking. I also want to say that I know you have a non smoking area but for one it should be downstairs not upstairs as smoke rises. Also you don't even offer enough gaming in the non smoking area. I like to play craps and even mini-bac and you offer neither in the non smoking area. Therefore until you guys are smoke free I will be taking my deep wallet elsewhere. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out out on a holiday weekend based on these reviews, all we did for however many hours was play the games and then ate at their Italian restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service at their restaurant! If you go, get the chicken scallopine (sp?)... it's very delicious!! I never realized I had a gambling problem until I visited this place. I almost had to be kicked out because I wouldn't stop playing the games - I guess I should thank him because I left with a profit, heh. This hotel was absolutely horrible. We stayed here on our anniversary, and it was such a bad decision. When we arrived, the hotel looked pretty new, and the view from our hotel room was pretty and showcased the trees nicely. So we were optimistic about the stay. When we settled into our room, I noticed it needed a good dusting and there was a hair in the soap dish. I was annoyed but I tried to look past it. We laid down to relax before our dinner reservations, and noticed a dried blood stain on the sheets. This was something I could not look past. We called down and they apologized and told us they would be relocating us. They told us to pack up our belongings and go back to the front desk to get a new key. They did not offer to help us with our things. We packed everything up and made our way back downstairs. They gave us a new key to a room directly right across the hall..... It would have been nice to have had someone meet us with the key. We make our way to the new room, and again it was very dusty. My husband was about to take a shower when he noticed the shower was full of hair! These sheets did not have any blood on them, but they were ripped. It was pretty gross. We called down again and a manager apologized and came up to clean our space. It was pretty awkward standing there watching someone clean our room. We missed our dinner reservations in Providence because of all the back and forth, and the restaurant could not accommodate a later time for us. The manager promised a discount, and she did take $50 off the bill... It did seem quite conservative considering we were given two dirty rooms, one of which had bodily fluids in it. I went here for the first time about a month ago, This is a really nice place to just go and play some machines. It's not fancy like Foxwoods or Mohegan but it's still nice and clean. When we arrived and I walked in we were greeted by a man standing near the staircase. We asked for directions too the food court and he kindly led the way. I ordered some food from the chinese stand and I have to say it was very good and affordable. I didn't see anything wrong with this place, I liked it very much and had a lot of fun! read more

You know you get all excited to go see a concert. Then you get to Twin River and park your car in the back of one of the huge parking lots. No signs as to "Row W, Section 5" so that you can find your car later....and you see the people walking in wearing sports jerseys and Walmart big white sneakers....and before you get in there you're already like "uh oh." The seating was either fold up chairs (I would've been pissed if I'd paid for premium seating and got a fold up chair) or banquet chairs (which we got). Still not the best. We went to the Sam Adams pub before the show started, which was nice. Except that the bar is so badly designed that the bartenders need to use a wooden backscratcher to reach anything on the bar (who designed that???) and definitely can't wipe the bar unless they come all the way around the bar....silly. Anyway, concert was okay, venue was not very good. I wouldn't come see another concert here. Best to avoid. read more

Twin River is sort of a strange place to see a show - as it's really just a large ballroom with a very small stage. Very glad that we had second row seats - as I think it would be difficult to see much from far back. At some point in the show, security just allowed everyone to crowd the stage which offsets having paid for 2nd row seats - pretty ridiculous. read more

If you take every tried and true rule of making a successful go of a casino...turn them upside down and you have Twin River. Rule 1 bring in big name acts for musical guests...after a promising start they now pretty much have bad cover bands. Their performance space can hold almost 2,000 people...but most nights it sits dark. When there is a show you have to leave the area and go almost back to the casino to use the rest rooms...then get readmitted to the show!! Rule 2 cheap or free booze loosens up spending...no free drinks here...and what's more when you go to Fado, the Irish pub it's 8.00 for a Stoli vanilla and diet...easily the most expensive drink outside of Capital Grille in RI. Rule 3...provide oxygen so that people stay awake longer....the smoke that chokes this place would stun a team of oxen in their tracks. Rule 4 provide a place for good food...Carmine's is closed 5 days a week and is destined to leave as soon as they can...even the buffett went out of business!! Just another example of a place that can't get out of it's own way...blow it up, start over and make a real casino with table games. read more

My boyfriend happens to enjoy gambling every now and then. It's a lot closer to the Boston area than the stupid Connecticut casinos, which is good. I am not really a gambler. Close your eyes, will you. Envision: Bamm, Bamm, Bamm, Bamm You're surrounded by fake rocks, really disgusting people, breathing in the rancid cigarette smoke permanently emanating from the carpets full of swirling colors. Your skin tightens, your breating get slightly heavier, your in sensory overload with lights everywhere and load coughing women in wheelchairs trying to put their "Wampum card" attached to their neck into their next slot machine after gambling for 7 hours straight without leaving a 50 foot perimeter and without letting her lungs breathe fresh air. Carmines is closed 5 days a weeks by the way so that did not make me happy! ANyway, as I walk through the glass doors I start to feel a bit better. Ah! Non-smoking room! The atmosphere was SO MUCH BETTER! We ate Johnny Rockets and the little waitress was so cute! I lost 40$ of my boyfriends, but he's amazing so we actually lost only 10$ of his! It was fun, I have to admit, with him anyway, can't do more than a hour an a half, personally! read more

Only one word describes this place:a "dump". I have called twice to ask about the minimum bet on blackjack and both those times they have lied(possibly to get me to come in?) The electronic blackjack is awful, if you accidentally bet too much, you can not retract your bet, even before the cards are dealt. The slots are, well, slots, their isn't much to say about them. This place smells like stale cigarettes and cleaning products(I am a smoker and I mind the smell). The employees are not helpful and rude. The other gamblers seem angry and depressed. This is not the kind of place you want to spend time in, unless you are miserable and want to watch the elderly lose their pension. Do not come here, even if your life depends on it. we do not gamble, just go for events and dining. The magic words for most of our friends is " ALL YOU CAN EAT KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN BUFFET". Really, it is there. pretty fun most of the time, occasionally great. watch for the concerts. food at the comedy club pretty good, makes for a decent date nite. If you sign up for phone from the comedy club, occasionally they will send 2 for 1 admission deals. We love the filet mignon and burgers at Fred and Steves You can take a nice walk over at Lincoln State Park, then drive to Twin River for a meal. I advise parking at the south entrance. read more

Twin River is.... Just ok. It is what it is. I smoke, so smoking does not bother me. I drink, so I wish that they offered free drinks for players or that the lines at the bars were not nearly so long. The place isn't spotless, but not as dirty as some reviewers have said, at least not that I've seen. I've had nights where I've won and others where I've lost, but the payouts don't seem to be overly good or bad. One time I went through $200 in about 45 minutes and so I left, another time I threw my first $20 in a machine and kept it going for about 6 hours and left with an extra $300 in my pocket. It's gambling, and you have to expect that sometimes you win an sometimes you lose. I love that there is a Taco Bell there, in case I want a quick snack. I'm not thrilled with the live bands that they have over at the Lighthouse- the last few times I've been they have been very loud and seem to be aimed at an older crowd. I'm 37 and I like 60s, 70s, and 80s, so if I think that the music is outdated, it probably is! To enjoy this place, you have to have reasonable expectations. Twin River is a slot parlor, it's where you go to blow some extra cash and have a few drinks and smoke indoors with no apologies for doing so. I've been to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, and Newport Grand, and my expectations are different for each location. If Twin River were a hotel in Las Vegas it would be a 1 star review, hands down. Maybe 2 stars if it were a hotel in Atlantic City! I'm giving it 3 stars because while it's nothing special, it IS in a great location- everyone I know in MA and RI can get here in about 20-30 minutes. It's also a fun meeting place for me and my friends that like the "sinful" things in life- smoking, drinking, gambling, etc. It's not bad. I went there for the 1st time lastnight and it was during the evening. I was gambling @ the blackjack machines. It was mellow & chill in the beginning. Every1 we encountered arnd our table playing with us was good company. We stayed until early morning (after hrs) gambling. Lets just say when u win u win and once u start losing um move to another machine.. Pros: * Good for to just make quick cash cuz trust it aint no damn FW or MGM. * You can use ur cell phones & eat @ the table machines. Cons: * Cleanliness, 1-5, I give it a 2. Workers come every frkn 2 hrs or so? So u can only imagine how much trash is left arnd the BJ21 machine. * 18+ can gamble. Call me a hater all you want but I don't need no amateurs players to mess up my hand most of them are there to hang out instead of gambling. This aint no MALL... * Drink servers barely came arnd. * The bartender stated, " After 11pm I have to check ID's. " Um so u dont check em @ all before that so I guess under 21 can drink too?? wtf! And he had no sense of humor. * Wheres the securities??????????????? Oh, all the way in the front or the back of the building but no where near where it is mostly needed, like around the winning tables and just simply walking arnd to monitor everyone, cameras can only do so much AFTER THE FACT. **** AFTER HRS.. Oh pls do not stay there late night because the regulars informed us that there are alot of ppl that go there looking for a place to crash. Hookers trying to make a buck. Ppl gping into bathrooms to do who knows what. Alot of theives hovering around you. ---Our after hrs situation--- Um yea we were just having a fun gambling time until we started noticing this one man not actually playing and kept on looking @ ppl's winnings and calling or texting his phone right after. Everytime someone leaves their table he would go to their spot and check how much they cashed out. That's another thing. Please take out how much people have cashed out from their winnings! Anyway, I assumed this man has people outside to rob anyone leaving with money. Hello! Why is he going around checking winnings and thats it so he is probably txt/calling his ppl about whos who and what they got. Call me paranoid but Im def sure I can tell when something is not right. Also there were these 2 girls going arnd tabes bothering Men. Basically trying to hustle the hustler. These ppl are there for hrs and where is the damn security team. SMDH!!!!! As we drove off some car kept following me and almost rammed me into a dark rd but lucky there was another car around and I was able to make a U turn towards the other car and got away... This is a good local place for slots. They get a LOT of credit for their non-smoking area. The air is clean and there is no smokey smell of any kind. If you just want a local place for slots, it would be great. If you want a "casino" then don't bother. They have computer roulette and black jack but nothing live. read more

Twin River is OK...not Vegas but it doesn't claim to be. Its not possible to win BIG here, the most I ever won is $700 and that was once out of the many times I have been so in the long run I'm sure I've lost twice as much. The place is filthy though, they don't clean nearly as much as they should be. The non-smoking room is awesome, whatever air purifiers they use work great, but the better machines are in the smoking area. Since I live only 45 minutes away I will continue to go there. read more

We saw Air Supply here and the concert hall not the best. If your favorite act is available at Monhegan sun it is a much better venue. Overall not a bad experience and the performance was wonderful. read more

Twin River is a very large slot parlor. Every square foot of the place is used by slot machines. They have a open bar area and a number of basic food court choices you would find in a cheap mall. Nothing special..nothing exciting. As a slot parlor smoking is allowed and the smokers take full advantage of this. The place reeks of stale smoke. It is amazing to see the amount of elderly folks dumping their money into the slot machines. Some can barely walk up the aisles and many were in some form of wheel chair. read more

The Event Center is a disaster for concerts. The management allows and even encourages people to walk up to the stage and stand there for the entire show--right in the faces of the patrons who paid premium prices to sit up front. It's a complete rip off and consumer fraud. If you're in the first ten rows or maybe more, you can't see the band unless you get up and walk stageside yourself.. If you want to see a concert here, the best way to do it is get the cheapest seats possible, wear comfortable shoes, walk up in front of the first row once the music starts, and stand there for two hours. Otherwise all you see is the fat behinds of the rude people standing in front of you. read more

This is the WORST hotel I've ever been to!!! There is no signage to find the hotel! Once you figure that out after making numerous trips around in circles. I finally found someone that told me how to get to the hotel, down a very very long hall to the lobby through the stink of cigarette smoke! Not only do they not have a direct entrance to the lobby the parking was another mess!! There are no valets to help with luggage. So again guests must walk and walk and walk to park the car and then to get back to the hotel was another walk across the parking lot and back down the stinky hall. Once you get to the lobby it's another very long way just to get to the entrance to the rooms. Once off the elevator the hallways go on forever! If I was working on my steps in for the day it would have exceeded my requirements! The Room! Who designed them? There's no place to sit! They provide a bar, a bench and 1 very uncomfortable chair. No desk! No table and chair, I guess they want you to eat in bed.. oh ya, No Room Service!! Oh ya, The Resort fee!! For what? Who do they think they are Vegas? Sorry to tell this is a long way from Vegas baby!! One positive the girls at the front desk were very nice and apologetic. read more

This review relates to their EVENT center. Saw America there last night(8/5/11). They were GREAT - the venue was not. Chairs were hard fold aways that were far too small for the average butt. Row directions were amateurish (printed on a home laser).Never seen SO many people walking about during a concert - Both staff and customers. Bad idea to serve drinks during a gig. Doors with bright lighting kept opening everywhere. Totally disrespectful to the musicians and the paying customers. Lighting was poor - it was not dark enough. Throughout the concert staff and other people were walking about serving drinks and generally doing what they wanted. If you want to see your fave band - go somewhere else. read more

This review is for the Event Center only. The good: -Venue is small. -While waiting for a show to start, they take drink orders on the floor, eliminating the need to wait at the bar. -Great sound system. The bad: -Complete clusterf*ck at the valet. Waited 15 mins to valet our car, got to front of line, get waved through to what finally we think is the valet, but was actually the pass through lane back to the lots. Valet service woefully understaffed, so they closed the line on us while we were still in it (and next in line)! Ended up parking at the South Lot (furthest entrance away from the Event Center) and walking through the casino. Thankfully, casino is small enough that this only took 5 mins. -Floor of venue is flat, not pitched which affects sightlines. -Seats are folding chairs. -Even though the Center is non-smoking, could smell smoke and haze of smoke in the air. Clearly coming in from Casino. Poor ventilation system. -Biggest annoyance of the night (and the reason I'd have to think twice about going back). The show was great, but extremely poor crowd control by the event staff. Halfway through the concert, people from the cheap seats in the back came to stand in the aisles further towards the front where we were sitting, completely blocking aisle access, along with our view. Can you say fire hazard? I didn't pay $100 a seat for that! No sign of security during the show, one of us even went to find security or event staff to get them to move, but they were nowhere to be found. That would never happen at Foxwoods or Mohegans. If assigned seating areas are going to be "optional" as seemed to be the case when we were there, then here's a suggestion: get rid of the tiered price level seating since no one seems to pay attention to it anyway and it's not enforced, and make it a general admission show at one price for everyone, first come, first served. I'd hate to see what the so called "Event Staff" would do if a fight broke out during a show! read more

So once and a while going to the Providence place mall or Emerald square mall on a friday night just doesn't cut it. What else is there to do but go to a dirty smoke filled room with penny slots. And that is what me and my under 21 year old friends do every now and again. There is always old people claiming there favorite penny slot machines and smoking cigarets. Five bucks can get you an hour or so of fun on the two cent machines and when all your other friends are winning and your out of money you can watch the dog races. Definitely not the kind of place for serious gamblers but it works for me till im 21 then its Mohegan sun for me read more
