Everything I said in my earlier review of Brookdale still holds. The care she receives is very good. The food is better than we've experienced at other Assisted Living Facilities. My complaint about Brookdale seems to have improved here - there are more intellectual activities to keep the residents stimulated. We still have her in independent living but are starting to use their assisted living for some of her services. The quality and caliber of care, as well as the caring attitude of their employees are admirable. While Inspirations of Northbrook may not be right for everyone, they have been an excellent addition to our lives.

They have helped her to become more independent while keeping a positive mindset when she is struggling. I think what's most impressive is the entire facility works together to give residents a feeling of belonging and a sense of control whenever they can. The facility makes an effort to celebrate anything and everything which gives the residents something to look forward to. Today they took a group of residence out to see a movie. What a huge lift, but they made it happen. I have a lot of experience with long-term care facilities and this one really knocks it out of the park. The day we went to pick her up we heard a scream from her room as we were approaching it. When we saw her she had a black eye, as two caregivers, who were apparently trying to get her dressed, walked out of her room. There are many other places to choose from for memory care. You can come back when you are able to walk. They billed me over 12,000 for 4 weeks stay and are still trying to bill me for things I never used. The staff that we worked with couldn't have been more accommodating and caring during our delicate situation.
