The food here is always good. However it is a pretty small restaraunt and tables for parties over 4 people are very limited. Best to have a reservation. Our party of 6 did not have a reservation and ended up waiting about 1.5 hours on a Friday. The hosts seemed a bit overwhelmed with the busyness of the evening - not sure if they just needed some extra hands on deck. Outpost has good cocktails and mocktails. The wings are a go-to for us and the burger does not dissapoint at all. However the star of the show at our last visit was the Brussels sprouts!! Sooo flavorful and crisped up. Highly recommend. A quick xmas eve dinner while we were in the neighborhood, we decided to secure some resys while in the area. We were promptly sat upon walk in. Vibes were comfy and cozy, with a neighborhood bar feel where if you're a regular they probably know your name and drink order. Parking is very tricky because this restaurant is in a residential area. My bf got the halloumi carbonara but unfortunately it was quite salty. Not just the crispy halloumi bits but the actual noodles and sauce as well. I got the brazillian picanha and though there was a miscommunication about the meat temp, it was promptly handled and I enjoyed the steak itself. The sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus however were a little weak compared to the steak itself. I can't explain it but the seasoning felt a bit off on the horseradish mashed potatoes. This was ALMOST the perfect meal!! The tomato martini is delightful. Tastes very light on the alcohol (and from past experience, so does their dirty martini), but very refreshing. The nachos are delicious. I adored my garden pasta. The tuna was good however I wish they put the wasabi in a more visible spot, for some reason ours was under the salad. The shrimp wasn't my favorite chimmichurri but was fine. The burger was delicious, especially the bun, however there was a very large chunk of completely inedible fat? Which I've never experienced in ground beef before, so it was a little off putting. For dessert the lemongrass ice cream was interesting! Listen I love that the neighborhood has a place to go. The staff here is lovely. The room is super kitschy and there's an outdoor space and several different rooms and it's a really beautiful space. That said the people here who like the Lindsay Lohan martini are wrong. This martini is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever drank and it's oddly pricey, and it makes me sad that people think this is good. The food isn't bad. read more

Parking is a bit tricky given permit only after 6 in the area. Took a chance since ordering to go but would've parked away from the restaurant if we were dining in. Ordered to go and tried a couple of their rotating drafts-Tropical Squall Blonde Ale (Dogfish), Early Riser IPA (Falling Branch). Both were tasty but the Blonde Ale was a bit too fruity for me. Ordered the Burger given the House ground Wagyu and Primal round. Delicious Burger that was cooked to ordered temp-smoked Gouda and truffle aioli took it over the top-dare I say this is one of the top Burgers in the Bmore area! BBQ Beef Ribs (special) caught our eye and didn't disappoint-peach bbq sauce was unique and worked well with the slow cooked Ribs. Outpost Nachos with house fried tortilla chips and chorizo was tasty as well the house made mozzarella sticks (Le Fromage Frit). House made is a recurring theme here which is a good thing! This is a nice local neighborhood hotspot. We reserved a booth spot with my kids and loved the lively atmosphere and the holiday decor. The restaurant can get a little loud, as it's right off a bar. Outpost is a solid brunch spot in Baltimore! Just FYI this place does not offer milk alternatives so keep that in mind. They have a variety of amazing dishes and cocktails (if you don't drink I recommend asking the bartender to whip up a unique mocktail to your liking, they do a great job!). I also suggest seeing what they have to offer for their special menu. I got the Softshell Sando with Parmesan truffle fries which is a special menu item they had at the time. The softshell crab was full of flavor, the tomatoes, lettuce and sauce complemented the dish very well. Vibe-wise you'll get an American bar type atmosphere, nothing special but still comfortable. Nice ambiance, intimate and homey. Food came out slow (it was a sandwich and nachos) and we were one of the few people in there. Other than the fries, the food was a huge miss for me with the overall quality being poor. The service was also lacking (other than the hostess who seemed like she was also handling other responsibilities). Almost felt like an inconvenience to the staff as most of their attention went to talking amongst themselves. When asked for our check for the extremely overpriced meal, we waited some time due to staff behind the bar tasting drinks. The outpost is one of those places that I always forget exist but am always happy when I go. The one down side that is at no fault of their own is that parking in this area SUCKs, i fully understand that the residents need parking and thats why so much of it is permit restricted but it really leaves limited space for those of us visiting the area businesses that dont live within walking distance. Went here during the week for a good little happy hour to treat myself to a nice drink. Been seeing this place a lot on my Instagram and they got really good reviews on yelp so I wanted to try it. Only a couple blocks away from my house, so I ended up walking there. I already knew exactly what I wanted from seeing the videos of the canned nachos and let me tell you they did not disappoint. All of the ingredients tasted extremely fresh. It is a really large serving and perfect for sharing. But because I was by myself, I did end up putting a little dent in it, but I didn't finish lol. As far as drinks, I wanted to go with the happy hour Manhattan. They're happy hour has drinks for under $10 which in Federal Hills is definitely a steal. Though the Manhattan was a little too sweet for my taste, adding a lime to it to just the trick. Let's talk about the inside. It was kind of small in there and quite tight. I arrived on a weekday at about 530 Ish And it was packed. There were hardly any seats and I was able to snap one at the bar, which I was surprised. Moving forward I would definitely go earlier or maybe on a day that it's not so crowded to really enjoy the ambience. It seems like they had a very large wine selection and from looking at their menu and Instagram post it seems like they have a different special Once or twice a week. The service was not bad. And the bartenders were pretty attentive for what they could do with a full house. Would definitely go again and try different things on their menu. Been here several times and they always deliver! The tin nachos are always a hit and we usually get it as is. This time we wanted to substitute the chorizo for a non pork protein and chicken was offered but with a surcharge. When we did get the dish there was very little chicken in there. I also tried the crab patty (on the specials menu). This was a well done burger! The fries were also great. We tried 4 or 5 drinks and they were all fantastic. I got the mushroom risotto, and I ended up taking it home about 20 minutes walk in 20° weather and snow. The texture was off only because of the fact that I took so long in the cold, there were some parts on the inside there were still perfectly warm and it was that perfect creamy soft risotto. To my surprise, the spicy, sweet, savory, and salty flavors are balanced. 10/10. *This version of chicken and waffles made the #1 spot of all the chicken and waffles I've tried over the years. Service: Excellent! The last time I dined here it was fall of last year. I was really happy to see the same waitress from my last visit. She has excellent knowledge about the menu and suggested to my friend to order the steak and eggs with a tomatillo sauce. Everything was on point. Note: This is a great spot for brunch with your dog. You'll have to sit outside if you want to bring your pup, but the good news is the staff has a our water bowl and treats to keep your pup happy while you eat. Service has continued to improve. Last night our server was incredibly friendly and overall just a really nice person. That said, as a whole, I have walked away more disappointed my last couple visits, and while I would typically eat here every month or more in the summer, that has dwindled to a few times a year. (For context, I live within a block of the restaurant) My issues are with both the food and some recent changes: One minor quibble is that happy hour is no longer available in the entire restaurant. Not the end of the world, and certainly an understandable change, but it was nice to have a place I could bring older family members who want a quieter experience in the back, and still be able to participate in happy hr. They now charge a fee for using a credit card. It isn't a huge fee, but I didn't know about it before I saw my bill. If it was mentioned on the menu, I missed it. This sort of nickel-and-diming really turns me off. I get that it costs them money, but they have been steadily increasing prices, and having to pay a credit card fee on top of that really irks me. Outpost was one of the first places I tried a Manhattan. It has now become one of my favorite drinks. On one of my recent visits I ordered one and it had gotten significantly worse. Not sure if they changed what bourbon they use, or if they are just trying to save money by watering down drinks, but it was not good. Overall, The Outpost isn't bad, it just isn't the place for me. I can forgive issues with service and execution when I feel like an establishment is trying and cares about me as a customer. I don't feel that way about outpost and I think it's time for me to move on. read more

The cornbread was off and might be just my preference but mashed taters needed more cream, butter or more boiling time in salt water. This has been on my list not only because of the wonderful pics I've seen but also because it reminded me of a neighborhood bar/restaurant I visited A LOT when I lived in D.C. Finally took the opportunity to grab dinner with a friend not long ago. Just as I suspected, it gave cozy neighborhood vibes. We were greatly warmly, sat immediately and offered suggestions shortly after. It was a Tuesday evening so I opted for the solo fried chicken special. It comes with 2 pieces of chicken, a side (fries), a biscuit and a Prosecco split. My friend got the Ricotta Gnocchi. The chicken was seasoned well with pops of rosemary flavor and was tasty. However, the fries were cold and the biscuit was reheated and gummy. This could be because we came really late for dinner. Glad my friend enjoyed the gnocchi. We live very nearby and have been here a few times. The drinks are excellent. However, if you need to be gluten free the choices are limited. I've had a burger, no bun, salads. I have heard so many good things about this place and I finally came to check it out. They offer happy hour from 4 - 7pm Monday thru Friday with drink and snack specials. I started with a glass of wine from their happy hour menu. I also got the Give Pisa Chance cocktail which was really good. To start with my friend and I ordered the mini version of the 10 can nachos, which came in a tin can and then they swirled it around and emptied the can onto the plate. The mini size was the perfect size for my friend and I to share and we really enjoyed them. I wasn't too hungry after the nachos so ordered the Mac n cheese appetizer which was very cheesy, delicious, and a lot bigger than I thought it was gonna be. My friend enjoyed her pork bao buns, but said one of the three buns was too hard to eat. All the parking here is street parking that you can park at for free for two hours in the zoned sections, but I had no problems getting a spot close by on the side of the road. Checked out the outpost on a Friday night. We didn't have rsvps but were seated immediately. We had the house wings which were covered in this sweet savory Asian glaze and fried to perfection.
