My buddy's band playes there occasionally and its always fun to see Novarium there. I really enjoyed the bar that night. It was a friday so I was trying my best to forget the last work week. I was upset that the kitchen wasn't open before i started really drinking. I went across the street to the subway and then came back. I went here once to see J. Cole during his "Dollar and a Dream" tour. The venue is small but nice. There is a bar behind the standing area that people can go to. There were some people there that stood back there for the entire show. Since there are no chairs, you might want to try to get there early if you are short so you can stand In the front and see the stage. read more

This place is garbage. Rude "staff" that doesn't even use their own brain/common sense. Soundstage is dirty. Kids on drugs were walking around harassing people. Their lights are angled to make you feel like your eyes have been assaulted and you may go blind. Security only cares about people trying to get on stage or stage diving (God forbid at a deathcore/metal show). I've been to much better venues and after wasting a ton of money at Soundstage for a second time, I'M DONE. Never going back! I don't even think the bands enjoy being there. read more

It's really fun but can get really trashy really quick. Especially college nights. They do not let guys dance on the stage which is lame (Voltage at the powerplant does however). Every time I go I still have a good time. read more

Went to the Jason Isbell / Amanda Shires show last night which was my first experience at this club. Lot's of strong points IMO. Parking is in the same building with validation making it cost $10. The show ticket was only $20 for seats in the VIP section which had a great view of the stage. The service was good even though the show was sold out. The view from anywhere in the seated area was great. The sound system was excellent. The burger was excellent and served quickly. Not to mention Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires both did top notch sets. I would go back On the minus side: 1. The men's room stalls were so poorly lighted that you couldn't tell if you were about to sit on a commode covered in urine or worse. I'd recommend a flashlight if you want to know for sure. 2. The men's room attendant just takes up space and his presence alone imposes some mental pressure to use his service / tip. I don't particularly like that at all. The Birchmere in Alexandria VA is a world class establishment and the bathrooms are top notch and attendant free, so the excuse I read in a Yelp review response that at Soundstage he helps keep it clean seems a little bit of a copout. I can get my own soap and towel. 3. Don't know about the floor seating but there are too many tables in the VIP area, making it very difficult to get in and out of your seat. Take a couple tables out and raise the ticket prices a couple dollars and make it an all around enjoyable experience instead of an "everything was great except" situation. I commend the club overall, but between the lack of adequate lighting in the bathroom, and the need to squeeze yourself in and out of your seat/table in the VIP area, it diminishes the overall experience. So far as the attendant, there's more of a need for someone with a light to clean up the stalls than there is to help you with soap and towel. read more

THIS ONE STAR IS GOING DIRECTLY TO SECURITY. We approached them politely regarding re-entry and they literally ignored us. We were VIP and were told when we got our merchandise we could run back to our cars to drop everything off (fragile things; posters, vinyls, ect) and then come back to see the show. When it came time to run to our cars they responded so rudely. They had no response, just shook their head in annoyance. When we asked another security guard he said "didn't someone just talk to you" and disregarded us entirely. It was totally unprofessional and off putting. They literally wouldn't look at us they were ignoring us so forcefully. It's the part of this venue that could REALLY use work. read more

Went to see Almost Queen the other night with my girlfriends. I'm not usually a cover band kinda girl but the band was surprisingly good and the atmosphere was fun. The bathrooms were very clean and the size of the venue was perfect . My only complaint was with the female bartender at the main bar by the stage . She had blond curly hair shaved in the back and orange eyeshadow. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 20 years. I have been everything from a server , bartender and manager. The customer service I got from this woman was awful! She was so rude to not only me but to my friends as well. She looked miserable the whole time like this type of show was beneath her and treated the customers as such . The male bartender with her was much nicer . I know she made a ton of tips that night working an easy bar crowd. She shouldn't be in the restaurant business with that attitude. Not impressed. read more

My wife and I just visited this venue Friday April the 6th. The bartenders were kind, the male security were helpful, and even were dancing with some customers light hearted. However, The few female "Security" and personal they had there have solidified that we will never be coming back. I will also be telling my friends in all surrounding areas to avoid this place like the plague. They way they treated, and talked to us, and everyone else there was uncalled for, and absolutely horrid. I hope the managers, or owners, actually read these. read more

The Baltimore Soundstage was a great venue. It holds about 1,000 people (standing room) in a rectangle space that may be closer to a square. The stage is on the long side of the rectangle, giving more people a good view. There's a large platform in the back behind the sound booth with stools against the rail and great views. Mostly, 40+ age people (like us) hung out there. I was amazed that I didn't need the earplugs I always bring - maybe because we were on that platform, which is a little past the halfway point, or maybe because the sound technicians are fantastic. There were three bars, two of them with chandeliers over them that looked very nice. It's usually an all-ages club, and there's $10 parking next door - mere steps from the entrance. (You must have the box office voucher! Don't forget to pick one up on your way out!) We loved it. The only downside was the drive from DC, but frankly, it was worth it. read more

I have been going to this venue since early 2015 and they have never let me down. The staff is courteous to the crowd and performers and does their best to provide an energetic, safe, and fun environment. The security guards are top notch at catching and keeping crowdsurfers/the crowd safe. I have not had one disappointing night at this venue. Every staff member is a friendly and approachable individual and will help you to their fullest ability. I highly recommend this venue. read more

This review is for the tables only. I am a patient person by nature but the speed of the service was absolute excruciatingly painful. Our waiter took forever to come take our order and hardly checked on us. I am so disappointed in the level of service here. I would prefer a walk up window in the venue or would just eat at the 7-11 down the street. read more

Sound is a muddy mess with too many sub woofers. Expect a face of unnecessary bass. The venue allows no re-entry for anyone, and prepare for a near strip search on the street prior to admission, even in the dead of winter. read more

I've been to the Soundstage twice in the past, once to see Motionless In White's Beyond The Barricade tour (March 2015) and August Burns Red's fall tour (December 2015). Both of the shows were fantastic and I would definitely come back here for a show. Staff and security is professional, bathrooms are orderly, and the VIP area is great!! I've been to about 4 or 5 rap/hip hop shows here over the past few years. All have been good experiences. Ticket cost was average or less. Drink prices were reasonable for a music venue, and they even have a deal for discounted parking at nearby garages. I like the layout of the venue which allows for almost all areas to have a good view of the stage as well as hear the music well. I'd definitely recommend going here if given the opportunity. read more

Was there last year for a show in November. The floor was full but it was not sold out. People were elbow to elbow walking on each other go back and forth from the bar near the back of the main stage floor. Arrive early or buy VIP seating since you are likely to see the back of someone's head, inhaling their terrible B.O., or watching a guy in jean battle jacket staring at you high on PCP. The amount of opening bands on some of these package shows, especially metal shows seem to carry on for hours before the headliner comes on. I am kind of glad Hammerjack's is reopening this New Year's or 2017 since they can get some metal bands booked instead of sending them to this place. read more

Don't ever go to a show at Baltimore Soundstage. The staff are completely ignorant and unprofessional. I was kicked out today during set break for trying to help someone who had overdosed on drugs, because I had been drinking alcohol. Afterward I was removed from the area and refused re-entry to the music venue. The staff flipped out at me even though I explained to them multiple times that I am certified in CPR/AED and an AMPLIFY Project volunteer and they still threw me out for "interfering with their business operations" and then stood by while some guy had a seizure until the cops showed up and he was taken away. Anything is better than doing nothing and standing by while some guy twitches and vomits on the floor. I could have most likely prevented the negative physical and legal repercussions for that kid and the bad publicity for their music venue, but now I'll shout it from the rooftops. Fuck that place, don't ever patronize them because they represent everything that's wrong with the live music scene. It was bad enough taking my shoes off to get into Papadosio last year, this was above and beyond the last straw for me. I have never dealt with the kind of unprofessional attitude these jackasses have in my whole history of seeing live music. read more

We came to see Yelawof on Sunday ~ he put on an azaming show, but the venue, the staff, everything else was just AWFUL!! We had VIP tickets, however, we stood outside waiting to get in for almost 30 minutes AFTER the scheduled entry time watching security smoke and talk with each other. THEN a female security guard came down and very very roughly searched my daughter & I with much more force than needed. We FINALLY got in, & were told they didn't have the posters that were supposed to be included in our ticket price ~ the girl at the box office counter was incredibly rude! We then paid $10 for 2 cups of ice with a splash of coke. The woman behind the bar seemed friendly when we approached the bar, but after we ordered cokes & not alcohol, she never served us again, she simply ignored us! The venue was very grimy / dirty and the crowd was HORRIBLE! I go to many concerts on a regular basis, & I have never EVER experienced such a rude, violent, trashy crowd! Our parking validation was "INVALID" so we ended up paying $24 for parking, this list goes on and on..bottom line ~ I will never return to this venue & I absolutely advise against it unless you don't mind an incredibly rude staff, a dirty envirnment, poorly coordinated event.... read more

This venue is far from wonderful. Security arnt friendly when they ask you to move you can't stand there or what not. I went there last night because we won tickets to see my husband's idol play (tremonti show September 25th, 2015). The management and staff were rude! He won a sound check with mark tremonti got an email from the radio station, we listen to about everything he was supposed to do we were there at 230 didnt need to be there till 330 they told him to wait then the radio station gets there and the venue tells all us that sound check isnt till 5 which is was supposed to be from 4-5 which my husband has the email of that!!! well everything management said he got he never got.... but he did get to meet his idol because his manager called my husband not the venues manager!!! Which if you are going to have a place like that, you need to set a meeting for all the people involved and make sure your crap is together!!!! I am very very very disappointed in this place period!!! read more
