I hadn't been here in forever and actually didn't even realize they offered lunch during the week but was pleasantly surprised by the menu, prices, and atmosphere. We sat at the bar and were well taken care of by the friendly and attentive bartender. He kept the diet cokes filled and answered questions about the menu. I ordered Chef Chad's chicken caesar cobb without the croutons and with grilled chicken instead of fried (an easy gluten free modification they were happy to make). The bacon, pickled jalapeno, and celery really made this a standout caesar. We also got a side of rosemary parm fries which were yummy too. The whole meal was filling and under $30. Really not bad for lunch! This was a good reminder that The Food Market is still good and there's a reason they've been around for so many years. read more

Woah! Kinda blown away by almost everything we ordered. You can tell how intentional the chef and team here is. My happy hour assortment was phenomenal: one Amish pretzel with beer, cheese, one big old mozzarella stick, one cheesesteak steam bun, and one street taco. They were all phenomenal incredibly flavorful, and this assortment was filling as a meal My husband was a little disappointed by the preparation of the hot honey chicken on Happy Hour. Right up-front, probably the best food quality and service combination I've experienced in the last year or so....but you want the details. We'd heard about the quality of the happy hour, so decided to visit on a recent trip to Baltimore. We ended up ordering several items on the HH menu (burger, giant mozzarella log, buffalo pickles, oysters) and they were all stellar, and above-average from a portion standpoint. Our server was very good - I don't recall her name, but it was very attentive service, and when she had to leave the hand-off was damn near seamless. My friend also ordered the crab meatball spaghetti and said it was excellent. In fact, he returned two nights earlier without me, so that says a lot on it's own. The interior was a decent size, and crowds came/went - seemed to have somewhat of a "local" vibe. We were sitting with next to the window, so we didn't have any issues with noise, etc. I fully anticipate returning to this place on subsequent visits to Baltimore. read more

It looks like they have tried to increase the capacity of the place since I was there last, which likely caused both of these issues. Came in on a Monday around lunch time and were seated at the bar quickly without a reservation. It wasn't very busy during this time and they were playing some fun pop music. The bartender was friendly and attentive, happy to help with our questions and allergy requests. I decided to get the BBQ salmon salad, which was absolutely fantastic. Labor Day's 50% off appreciation brunch was just another reason why this spot is one of my Baltimore go tos. I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. I have done the private Slay the Menu chef's table in the basement, plenty of dinners, and a bunch of brunches, and every visit has been solid. This past weekend was no exception. They announced on social media that they were doing a customer appreciation brunch over Labor Day with half off your bill. Of course I made a reservation right away. My fiancée and I came in at noon on Sunday and the place was packed to the brim, which was no surprise. We ordered some of our favorites, including the giant mozzarella sticks, buffalo fried pickles, and the short rib eggs benedict. Everything was just as good as we remembered. We also tried the street corn wedge salad and the cheesesteak for the first time and both were excellent. Even with how busy it was, our waitress crushed it. Drinks were always full, food came out at the perfect pace, and the service was genuinely great. The Food Market keeps proving why it is one of the best spots in Hampden. I love the Food Market and wish that there was a location in DC. The food is always really great. The staff is always been quick and attentive. And honestly no matter when I've stopped by the restaurant it's always busy in there. I feel like that shows just how great their food and the vibes are in there. I recently went for happy hour and had their big ole mozzarella stick for the first time and I wish I'd had it sooner. It's about 6 inches of crispy cheese with a really good marinara sauce. And what makes it even better is that it was $5 and the happy hour cocktails were like $6-10. I have been here many times, but realized I never wrote a review so there's no better time than now to share my thoughts. We recently visited the food market because of their customer appreciation event where they were offering 50% off the entire menu. This was something new as I don't believe I remember them doing this type of event, but it was so thoughtful of the restaurant to do this. Regardless of the discount this restaurant is a must visit as they are consistently producing top-notch quality dishes. Not to mention, the service was amazing given how crowded the restaurant was this particular day. Our server Nadeen was amazing. She was attentive, prompt, and made sure we were well taken care of. This restaurant is suitable for families or just as perfect for those looking for a more intimate date night. However, because of its location, location they don't have a designated parking area therefore it is a street parking situation. Now moving onto the food ! They have a pretty decent number of items on their menu and I think at this point I have tried just about everything and I can't say that I dislike any items. I've tried so far. However, I will share some of my favorites. I love their giant mozzarella stick. Considering it size it somehow still stays altogether and super crunchy with just the right amount of cheese pull. We also got their street corn wedge salad, and that was amazing. It was super light and paired so nicely with the ranch and the shrimp. And of course, they're famous cheesesteaks also delicious with very tender pieces of meat paired with their really soft chewy bread. Updating my review here since it's been a while. Still gotta say, this place is so good. Recently came back for brunch with my dining partner. We shared their caramelized grapefruit, Crab Benedict, and the Breakfast Bowl. The tart grapefruit with the caramelized sugar on top was such a nice balance between sweet and tart. The breakfast bowl was a bit oily but had lots of flavor and plenty of short rib. The crab Benedict was nicely fried with its great tasting hollandaise. The Food Market Hampden was absolutely delicious! we chose this spot as a last minute Valentine's Day recommendation and could not have been more pleased! first , i was very impressed with how we were accommodated as a party of 2 + 1 child and a newborn we were seated in a high-traffic area, and the staff occasionally bumped into the stroller, which wasnt ideal -- but given the holiday rush and the number of reservations that evening it was understandable our server was kind, straightforward, and very helpful. she gave clear recommendations and honest opinions on each dish, which made ordering easy and enjoyable. Love, love, love this restaurant! It's one of my favorite places to take friends when they come into town. I took my friend last weekend and she absolutely enjoyed it. We started off with the mozzarella sticks and the cheese pull was insane! I ordered the steak frites and my friend had the crab cake. Everything was cooked to perfection. So flavorful! Jermaine was super upbeat and clearly enjoys his job - even when super busy! The food was delicious per usual. We always love the popcorn they serve. I think this is one of the best restaurants in Howard County. It's conveniently located near the mall with plenty of easy parking. The menu offers a wide variety of options, so there's truly something for everyone. The service is consistently excellent, and the food comes out quickly after ordering. We were hoping for more on the pancakes as the caramel sauce was just a drizzle. We did really enjoy the French toast dippers in the omelette with solid as well. We enjoyed their home fries that came with the omelette. I've also been here for dinner/appetizers before. I've always really enjoyed the mozzarella sticks, pickles, and their vegetable appetizers. A ground of 12 of us met for dinner on a Sunday night. Valet parking was free - huge plus considering it was rainy. Our waitress was attentive and our drinks came out quickly but the food took longer than expected. Nonetheless, everyone was pleased with their choices. I ordered a French 75, small Caesar (love the deconstructed croutons) and cheesesteak sliders with bao buns. Delicious and so filling. I opted for the Baltimore club or Maryland club idr what it's called but it had shrimp salad AND a crab cake on it with truffle fries. The club was amazinggggg fries were Amazingggg. I ordered Easter dinner today from The Food Market - Baltimore, Maryland through Uber Eats, and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I've had great experiences with The Food Market, so I was expecting the same quality but this location did not deliver that at all. I ordered the short ribs with whipped mashed potatoes and onion rings (no carrots, Gouda mac added), and what I received was completely unacceptable -- especially for a $52 meal. The presentation alone looked thrown together, overly fatty, and honestly not appetizing. It did not reflect the quality or standards I've come to expect from this brand. For a holiday meal, this felt very disrespectful to send out to a customer. Quality control should have caught this before it ever left the kitchen. I will say, I appreciate Uber Eats for ultimately resolving the issue and issuing a refund although it did take some effort on my part. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to order from the Baltimore (Canton) location again. I visited The Food Market before seeing a show nearby while in Baltimore. We had a reservation and arrived right on time. I was very grateful for the complimentary valet in the frigid cold temperatures and because we were right on time. We were seated right away. The table was a little tight and to my surprise this place was packed at 5:30 on Saturday evening. Our server Claudia was kind, attentive and offered great recommendations. Claudia brought us the popcorn of the day right away it had a basil dusting on it and was a nice little snack! We opted to start with cocktails and the onion rings. The cocktails were outstanding. The onion rings looked great but they weren't hot or crispy - I don't actually like soups so this was an interesting concept (it was explained) , while good flavors I wouldn't order it again. I went for the crab cake which was a very generous portion, and I loved the side of Mac & cheese and cauliflower. The one thing I didn't care for was the raw red onion in the crab cake. My friend ordered a streak and after a knife switch (the first one was dull) she noted that everything was great, her steak was cooked to perfection and had great flavors she had a side salad and green beans with the chimichurri accompaniment. Everything was great down to our car coming quickly when we left. I would recommend checking out The Food Market if you are ever in the area they have a vast menu with some interesting concepts and a friendly staff! read more

We were first served complimentary truffle popcorn. I started off with the cream of crab soup, which was pure perfection. It came with chunks of crab meat. In the end for my entree, I went with the Baltimore Club, which is a crab cake, shrimp salad, lettuce, tomato, and bacon on potato bread. It is served with hand cut fries. It comes with a side of ketchup but I requested ranch. The flavor of the ranch was good but it was runny. The sandwich though was fantastic. Perfect crab cake and large pieces of shrimp for the shrimp salad. Loved everything about this place. The decor, vibes, and service were great! Highly recommend a reservation!
