Elias was seemingly the only one working and he took great care of us even with a full bar! The place was packed. Apparently it was a member party that trickled over into the public space. Even though we had made a reservation, there wasn't a hostess to greet us and confirm it once we arrived. Elias came from behind the bar, cleared a table, and seated us. The outside of a downtown office building says QG. Clock Restoration is located on the 6th floor. You even need a special code for the elevator. The elevator opens into a beautiful space filled with clocks. There is also a bar and tables. We only had espresso martinis but the "Clocktails" menu looks fabulous, including seasonal drinks. Our food was really good and they did not skimp on the portions. The bartender was friendly and the chef came out to make sure we enjoyed our food. I look forward to going back. Our wings were so fried, they were dry. The ceviche was missing lime and poorly constructed. The crab cakes were super soft, but had good flavor. I would order the brussle sprouts again, but that's it. The industrial, speakeasy, clubhouse vibe was cool. It's a theme I haven't seen done as well before. It's a fun place to find, hid up on the 6th floor and was a warm inviting bar with a ping pong table, shuffleboard and plenty of space. This review is only for the food and not the bar or space. It looks like a really fun place to go with friends for a night out. Service was on point and very friendly. The food just didn't hit the mark especially at the price point. 3 of us got the original chicken sandwich and at $17 I would expect much more. We were confused at first and wasn't sure but they had signs pointing to the elevator on the right & instructions on how to get into the bar! Super cool experience with 10/10 drinks. The espresso martini was one of the best espresso martinis I've had - you can tell the bartender didn't use Baileys & used real espresso to make the drink. The transfusion was also really good! Clock Restoration is a private club where as a non-member you can pay $40 to use their cigar lounge. Arriving 2 hours before closing I ordered a cocktail before proceeding to the 3rd floor cigar lounge where I chose my cheroot. Totally cool place, great atmosphere, lots of tasty cocktails and awesome server (Corey)...but....the place was out of a significant amount of items on the menu. And even the entrees we ordered were missing items. This was a Saturday night and around 7 pm. I would have given it a 3.5 if I could, but I felt generous and gave the 4. Cause I felt this place has to be better. The menu really looked great. The cocktails were real tasty and based on the menu quite ingenious. The restaurant was not quite full and we waited for quite a long time for our food. Now to be fair our server, Corey, did great! He was apologetic and he even discounted the tab given our wait time. In these situations, it's not the server's fault...it is the management and planning of the kitchen. What happened guys?? Amazing! We stopped by on a mid afternoon on Friday. Cocktails were out of this world and the burger was incredible. Crab dip was also great. We had my five year old and while they didn't have a kids menu, the staff was super helpful in recommending kid friendly options. I picked this restaurant strictly on the high Yelp rating. I was not impressed but the draw (the picture of the burger) was - according to my daughter- delicious. But my salmon was average and the rice pilaf was a farce - it was white rice. Kudos for accommodating my young granddaughter (definitely not kid friendly) with a burger with no fixings I don't understand the high rating. This is a cool little restaurant downtown. It's got a ton of character. I love sitting at the bar. The last time I went my friend and I met there for lunch. It was a little after noon and while they were open, they had no bartender/server. Luckily, I was not in a rush, but it was the cook to the rescue. He filled in and took our order and then made an amazingly good beyond burger. It was very satisfying. He took a ton of pride in his food and it showed! Was so excited to visit this place. The premise of it was super cool. Went there on a Friday night with a reservation. Place was fairly full but had a couple open tables. We ordered drinks, apps and entrees. First indication was that the drinks came quick but then the server disappeared. He seemed to enjoying hanging out with the regulars. App finally arrived and was just MEH. An hour later we asked another server if she could ask our server where our food was. He promptly brought over some bastardized version of white chili that looked like it had been sitting under the plate for almost an hour. Our other entree didn't arrive. I went to the bar to just cash out the drinks and the app and noticed my entree sitting in the window. It ABSOLUTELY looked like it had been sitting there for the entire hour. I just paid and left. This is a pleasing review. I stopped in looking for a hat. I work close by and have been told they have a few to choose from. Unfortunately, due to the holidays they were low on stock and none were to my liking. But, I noticed they had a bar upstairs. Since I wasn't able to spend time hunting for a hat, I had time for a beer. Typically, I search for breweries, but in this case I opted for a beer. This one did not disappoint me. I am a Guinness fan, but 99% of the pubs stores their kegs next to the others beers. To me that is a no-no. I am not interested in drinking frozen beers which kill my taste buds. But then I heard the owner prefers the drink at a warmer level. Here, they actually store the keg in a different location. The pour allowed me to sip the black stuff within a minutes time after it settled. Wow I'm impressed. As for the place, it is a bit more pricey than the burbs, but not astronomical as some may think. I had lunch at CLOCK Restoration recently when I was downtown for jury duty and though, "I want a fun lunch rather than a quick lunch at a fast casual spot." The restaurant is on the 6th floor of 31 S. Calvert Street (when you walk into the lobby and the elevator, there are signs explaining how to get to the restaurant). For a place that advertises itself as a kind of speakeasy, it definitely has more a pub vibe to me (more casual than I was expecting). But the service was really good (the bartended made sure that I had a quick meal and was on my way to the courthouse on time to sit for several more hours before being released), and I really enjoyed my meal. The menu is mostly pub-like, too (burgers, sandwiches, wings, etc.), which isn't my normal preference, but I really enjoyed what I ordered: the QC Melt (basically a grilled cheese) with the added crab cake, which comes with their fries. The crab melt was a delicious and a good deal for how much crab was on my sandwich, and the fries were well-seasoned. Overall, the restaurant is a little less speakeasy-feeling than I was expecting, and more a traditional pub or bar (both in decor and food), but I had a good experience. We easily figured out the entry code before arriving. But when we got there, the code is listed on the elevator. That took some of the fun out of it. Our server Macy, (was super sweet) greeted us and began to assist us with our order. Here's what we got and how we rated it: Chicken Sandwich (with added fried egg and cheese) 10/10 Steak 6/10 Honey Old Bay Wings 8/10 Brussel sprouts 2/10 (burned to a crisp) Mashed Potatoes 8/10 French Fries 6/10 Fried Pickles 1/10 (sliced so thin that there was no taste of pickle whatsoever) Crabcake 7/10 Cocktails 6/10 Unfortunately, our experience ended on a sour note. Immediately after leaving, my son's girlfriend started experiencing stomach pains, which led her to a very long and uncomfortable night. But to make matters worse, my son had to be taken to Prompt Med and was diagnosed with food poisoning. He is actually still in the process of recovering. I have never seen my strong and healthy 24-year-old son so sick and weak.
