I visited plover for business and tried this place based on the yelp reviews. I guess good chinese here is different then where I'm from. The food was very average. The food from the grill didn't seem grilled at all. I was disappointed. Go eat at christains bistro, its not asian fusion but the food is much better. read more

I have been to The Bamboo House multiple times and each time it gets worse. The sushi is frozen and if you order more then one roll chances are the waitress will get confused and call them the wrong thing. They legit call soy sauce "sushi sauce" and it takes 40 minutes to get 3 rolls when you are the only table at the restaurant. Overpriced, horrible staff and horrible food. read more

With a new location in the beautiful new Village Park area The Bamboo House has one of the best lunch buffets daily. Good fast service and a huge menu selection as well. They also have a Friday dinner buffet that feature seafood selections. YOu have to check it out. read more

Wasn't too sure at first but ended up being a great meal, huge servings, and one of the best servings of orange chicken I've ever had.

We just found this AWESOME restaurant!!! Had the Volcano Roll, Firecracker Roll, Grilled Chicken with Thai curry and Crispy Duck with Almonds. It was all amazing!!! The rolls are spicy! I didn't have a problem with that but they were almost too spicy for my wife. The Thai Curry isn't that spicy but is full of flavor! The Crispy Duck is just amazing. Our waitress suggested that I order the duck with the sauce on the side so the duck stays crispy. Great suggestion! We will be back when we are in Plover!!! read more

We ordered 50 dollars worth of sushi and for Wisconsin it was fantastic sushi. I def. recommended going here and the service was really friendly. The staff also has a lot of personality which added to the experience. read more

This place is a disaster for a number of reasons. I'm going to write primarily about the buffet. The main problem I have is that they don't heat their meat to a reasonable degree. It's literally nearly cold while on the warmer. By the time it reaches your table it's cold. It's absolutely disgusting and I can't imagine it's safe to consume. How do you just leave cold mushy pork out for people? I asked a waitress why the food was so cold and she said she was told they weren't allowed to turn it up any higher, so it just is what it is. COLD MEAT. COLD CHICKEN AND PORK. DISGUSTING. The second problem I have is that I went in one day on Saturday for a buffet, after everything had been set up, and began to look around at what they have. And I noticed that on this day they had NO chicken of any sort being served. There weren't any empty spots where maybe they were restocking the chicken, no, every spot was taken and they only served pork of different varieties. Pork, mushrooms, and veggies. Those were the options. If you aren't going to give me chicken you better serve scorpion or something, just having pork is absurd. They used to have chicken, but not any more apparently. I asked a waiter why they don't have chicken and he said they do. I asked him to go and look and tell me if theirs any chicken. He didn't even bother, he just looked down in shame. The service was actually good. I started boycotting the place when they decided to stop serving warm food, there was a point they actually did have hot food. But I ended the boycott one day because I wanted some crabrangoon. The waitress actually remembered what I liked to drink even though I hadn't been their in months. The place is also very nicely decorated. I can honestly say, and in a calm rational mood, that the day I went in when their was no chicken being served that it was the worst dining experience I ever had at a restaurant. I don't mean that to be shocking, I actually put probably more thought into it then I should, but it's true. Cold dry pork. Terrible sushi. No chicken. Just really horrible stuff. Never had a worst time actually. I'd recommend really any buffet over this place, and that means a lot considering I'm not exactly a huge fan of Hibachi House in Point, but even that place I can now say is better than Bamboo house. Because at least the food at Hibachi is heated to a safe eating degree. read more

Had the opportunity to eat here on Saturday while dropping the kids off at a soccer camp. Overall was really happy with the food. We started with the appetizer plate for 2 (which was big enough for 4) and had various main courses. Overall was really happy with the meal. If I could give it zero stars I would. Hubs & I had the worst experience here. We checked out the buffet and it was depleted and what was left was dried out and even stuck to the pan in one case. While we were at the buffet an employee brought the mei fun noodles out and proceeded to put the old dried out noodles on top of the fresh!!! WTF?? Not eating from the buffet, We should have just left then but stupidly we checked out the menu. I ordered kung pao from the lunch menu and hubs ordered mu shu pork and pancakes and the appetizer platter. As with 99.9% of other chinese restaurants their egg rolls were not made on premises and they were awful. The fried shrimp was undercooked so I sent it back to bathe in some hot oil for a few more minutes. My kung pao was not in the least spicy and what they call fried rice was nothing more than steamed rice mixed with soy sauce. There was very little pork in the mu shu and the "pancakes" were nothing but small flour tortillas. I complained about the lack of quality, especially the "fried rice" and the waitress tells me I should have ordered fried rice off the menu and I would have gotten the real thing. All you get in the lunch special is steamed rice with soy sauce. Management could have cared less. That this establishment stays in business is a testament to the diminished Wisconsin palate. read more

I stayed at a hotel close by and looked to grab some carry out. Ordered the sesame chicken and crab rangoon. The chicken didn't taste very good and had a very soft texture. Crab rangoon was ok but nothing spectacular. Maybe eating in the restaurant is better but wouldn't recommend the carry out read more

My experience with Bamboo House has been with their "special menu". It is the real deal Asian menu that they do not give you unless you "ask" or know to "ask". It is one page of crazy good authentic Asian dishes. Not for the person who thinks McDonalds is gourmet food. Adrian, hooked us up with this menu. The garlic eggplant is heaven. Garlic green beans too are so good. These items are served "family style" and are wonderful if you are looking for authentic Asian food. read more

After working hard all day we were looking forward to a good meal at the Bamboo House. We have eaten there for years and have always had good food up to about 6 months ago it started to go down hill. Tonight's meal was not good. The Sambol shrimp was tasteless and lately the sauce has been very watery like they just add water when running low. The walnut chicken was also tasteless the sauce being watered down and runny again like the just add water so they don't have to make more. The walnuts used to be heated and sweet and the sauce thick and a great taste. Not anymore. This time it wasn't even warm.When the waiter asked how everything was he was told the problems. He said sorry I'll mention it. End of story. I didn't even bring it home to reheat cause it still wouldn't taste good. No manager saying sorry for your crappy meals or "can we get you a complimentary drink or desert or can we take something off your bill because it was bad. Nothing. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants in the area so we won't be going back there I'm sure. read more

The food was not good. The Tom Yum sauce was a chicken gravy type sauce with little flavor. Not like sauce I've had at better restaurants, light and flavorful elsewhere, this was something like what a hack chef would make. Service very slow, with only 4 tables in the place and 2 wait staff, could have done better. read more

My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night and there were about 13 other tables with 4 waitresses. We waited for 20 minutes and no one came to take our order. For a restaurant this is not busy. Have been there a couple times before and the food isn't great either. Won't recommend it, way better restaurants in Plover/Point that have better food and better service. read more

I just wanted an appetizer, gyoza, and a side of white rice. But when the server shows me the size of the rice bowl, and it's not much bigger than a coffee cup - for $3.99 (seriously!) - I change my mind. I figure if it's going to cost me 8 and 1/2 dollars all together for gyoza and rice, I might as well spend $10 on a full meal, and take half of it home. So I order the tempura veggies. The photo in the menu shows a dish with about 16 pieces on it, and it comes with a side of white rice for $9.99 total. What the server brings me instead is a dish with only 8 pieces on it and no white rice. For $5.99. What the hell? read more
