Don't be fooled by the appearance of this place! From the outside, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant, but when you enter, it kind of has a homey vibe and family diner atmosphere. Every time I've been, it's been bustling with people, and I think that explains how people know that this place has good food! I've tried their pho, pork lemongrass vermicelli bowl, and pad Thai so far, and everything has been great. I'd say the pad Thai is my favorite from this restaurant so far. Service can be kind of slow because they're staffed by very few people (maybe a small family?) so make sure you give yourself ample time to dine here. They also have a small Asian market connected, but I didn't really find anything I liked. Anyways, good food! read more

I so appreciate and try to support the ma and pa shops in small towns. I was super excited to see this place listed on Yelp and the high reviews. I drove out of my way to check this spot out, with hopes that the reviews lived up to the hype. Unfortunately this is a pretty average, maybe almost subpar Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered spring rolls, beef banh mi, and combination fried rice. The spring rolls were very fresh and contained a lot of noodles. It wasn't anything special but it tasted just fine. The beef banh mi was a disaster. It was a mayonnaise soaked bomb - the quality of beef was subpar, it contained 2 chunks of fat. I was surprised the sandwich did not have any cilantro - there were two slices of cucumber and a handful of shredded carrots. I ate half and threw the rest away. As for the combination fried rice, it contained shrimp chicken and Chinese sausage. The meat was on the skimpy side - the chicken tasted especially dry and flavorless. The rice was pretty oily and hardly had any soy sauce at all. I really wanted to like this place but in the end, if I ever come back, it would only be for the spring rolls. read more

I always come for groceries when I am in town. Hint: fresh herbs are way cheaper here than Walmart or Copps. They also have much of the basics you need for various asian cooking. My dad likes the restaurant and goes there frequently. When I was there today to pick up some frozen pho meatballs, the restaurant was packed! I called and ordered ahead for pick up which saved me some time. I ordered the nava, spring roll, special bahn mi, pork bahn mi, and papaya salad. This was probably my second time buying the nava. Unfortunately, I need to remember to never get it from here. I feel it's nothing special and most of the time it's hard to get the green jelly they use in this into the straw to drink it. Leaving you with mainly drinking the pearls and liquid. So I do not recommend the nava here. The spring rolls were nothing special either. I felt they lacked ingredients. I believe it had one piece of cucumber in the middle, maybe two shrimps, and a slice of pork with the noodles. The peanut sauce that it came with was not great either. My papaya salad was more on the saltier side and not great either. My husband and I did enjoy the bahn mi sandwiches though. I don't believe there were any cilantro in them which I would've liked. I got the #3 Beef Pho and it was amazing! Best pho in town. I also really like their Laab, perfectly made! I wasn't a fan of the chicken fried rice but can't win with every dish! Would highly recommend this place, especially the Pho. read more

I was a little hesitant about how the restaurant and food would be after getting new owners. I've been here several times when they first opened and the service was super slow. It took half an hour to get 6 bowls of pho. For 6 people with hangovers, that felt like years. So we stopped going for several months. Recently I took another gander and it was a total 180 degree difference. The server was pleasant. He got our drinks out before he took our order. The wait was not long to get our food even if the restaurant was half full. Our bowls of pho came in pipping hot with plenty of meats, tripes, and tendon. Very satisfying. I love vermicelli noodle salad and the best part is the nuoc cham sauce, theirs is perfect - garlicy, sweet, and mildly spicy. Attached to the restaurant is the grocery market that offers Asian goods like rice, vegetables, dry noodles, soup bases and so forth. There are also cooking items like steamers, plates, and condiment bowls. Decently stocked but priced a tad above the other Asian markets in the area. read more

Skip this one, at least for the chicken dishes. All chicken used was the same and pre-seasoned with some rather spicy bites. Not enough staff so waitress was taking all table orders, delivering orders, clearing tables, checking out diners and checking out grocery store orders. Too much for one person so she never checked to see if everything was okay, which it wasn't. The food we had was lacking cooked vegetables and was certainly not memorable since everything tasted pretty much the same except for a little molasses kind of sweetness to the Pad Thai. Oh, and we had to justify needing another serving spoon. And a "fried egg" means a sunny side runny placed on top of the dish. ( we thought it would be scrambled in it) read more

We took a chance coming here (only one review) but we forged on...and are glad we did. First off we ordered the shrimp & pork spring rolls...very sticky and freshly made with a peanut sauce. Perfect. Then we had the meatball and tripe Pho and the chicken & shrimp vermicelli. While I'm not a Pho person I tasted it and actually liked the tripe. Anthony Bourdain would have been proud of me. That vermicelli? To die for. Crunchy from the carrots, lettuce and cucumber, and the sauce is slightly sweet with the occasional bite of pepper. Oh...and had to have a Tiger beer to wash it down. I knew this place was the real deal as soon as I walked in. As a personal rule of thumb, I've found restaurants inside foreign grocery stores are usually on their game when it comes to producing dishes identical to what can be found in their home country. This place is no exception. My only con is that a waitress was a bit hard to flag down [ended up being served by the store cashier] so I don't think they have a smooth running system down - but with places like these that's not uncommon at all. Food is the main criteria here. Now to the good stuff, which I can only assume is everything in this place - My mother got the lemon chicken with shrimp, I went for the Pho, and a egg roll appetizer came first. Everything was amazing on all aspects. The egg rolls were piping hot, fresh, and filled with quality ingredients. My soup was rich with flavor and was only made better by the assortment of chili/garlic oils offered on the side. The lemon chicken and shrimp were cooked to perfection in the most delicious sauce I've had paired with rice in a long time, temptation to lick plates was almost overwhelming. Better than anything I've tasted in both Madison or San Francisco. Factoring in the huge portion sizes - this whole meal plus a beer and coffee came out to under $25. Absolutely satisfied with our decision to stop here, and I will absolutely come by again next time I'm in the Stevens Point area. The coffee with condensed milk is a must. I don't understand the high reviews for this place. We asked for non- spicy food and the waitress assured us it would be fine. It wasn't. They use the same over spiced chicken in all their dishes including the Pad Thai which is not a spicy dish. Service is non-existent since the waitress does all the jobs and is never available for any service. read more

Man is this place great! Their Pad Thai is best I've had, the special banh mi is terrific and the pho is great as well. To top it all off it is very affordable and you get generous portions. The food was good though i felt they let their sauce overpower the other flavors on the plate. I had the pad thai with shrimp abd i felt there was a reasonable amount of shrimp in The dish. My grandmother got the combo pad thai however and said she couldnt find more than a few pieces of chicken or beef. She was almost done eating before she found her first piece of beef. For you crab rangoon fans, the rangoon has a lovely wrap and the filling is pleasantly sweet. As far as service goes, i was very pleased. Wait staff was attentive and friendly without being over bearing. They were extremely polite and made the meal more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been. The food here has come a long way from when it was first opened to when it changed owners till now. My little family and I frequently visit this place because of the food. The pho broth is good but could use more meat. The springrolls are a little on the plain side. My wife and I however love the House Special Beef Salad. And relatively simple to keep pho people happy. And I like the weird stuff in it too. So I go for tendon and tripe. Only to find first bite of tripe might not have been cleaned that well. And do we know what tripe is? Disconcerting to have it taste a bit like it's not cleaned or prepared properly. I pick tripe out. The rest of the bowl was ok. Warm enough and satisfying enough to finish. I worry about cleanliness a bit. I hate to write bad reviews. I'm not a complainer. This was a really nice surprise to find so far north in Wisconsin! Really authentic Vietnamese was not what I expected when we rented a cabin up here. Our party had prettt much everything on the menu, and it was all really good. I had the veggie spring rolls, which had that really fresh clean deliciousness I love about Vietnamese, and then the chicken noodle bowl. The chicken was delicious! My girlfriend had the shrimp pad thai and that was also fabulous. The bubble tea was a really great treat too! read more

This was my go-to take out during pregnancy! Their egg rolls are so good, cheap, and HUGE for the price! I also love the bubble tea (mango is my favorite). Spicy pho clears up my sinuses during the cold winter months, so we order a lot during the football season for games. Food is always hot. I love love love shopping here, too. Prices are decent. I find that most of the snacks that are available at, lets say Walmart, are much cheaper here. My only issue with this establishment is the service. It is family ran, which I love, but oftentimes they do not have great hospitality. If they say an order will be ready in 20 minutes, I often wait 50. I stand at the counter a lot. While I was pregnant and my husband would pick things up for us, I would get frustrated with him for taking so long. Now I understand! read more
