As a photographer, my schedule was tight, so we only had time to enjoy a few appetizers--but they were absolutely amazing! I was really looking forward to trying the shrimp and grits, but we had to get back to the service. That's definitely at the top of my list for our next visit. The atmosphere was incredible, the vibe was perfect, and the staff made us feel right at home. One of the young ladies even came over, took our picture, and showed it to us before we left, which was such a nice touch. The service was outstanding, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I've been going to Bamboo Walk for a while now, and the food never disappoints. Everything is consistently delicious, and the overall experience is always great. There's something about the atmosphere that makes it feel like I'm dining in Manhattan or even out of town--it's a nice escape from the usual neighborhood spots. The service is another standout. The staff is warm, attentive, and truly makes you feel welcome every time you walk in. That level of hospitality is a big part of why I keep coming back. Food-wise, the oxtail pasta is a must--rich, flavorful, and always hits. And you really can't go wrong with the jerk dishes, which are always a favorite and consistently done well. That said, I do want to mention the automatic 20% gratuity. I completely understand that times have changed with inflation, and I respect the industry--I've worked in restaurants myself. But traditionally, gratuity started around 15%, and it wasn't typically added at the bar. A fixed 20% on every bill feels a bit steep. Because of that, what used to be a regular go-to spot is starting to feel more like a place I'd reserve for special occasions. Still, the quality of the food and service remain top-notch. read more

We enjoyed dining at Bamboo Walk while they paid tribute to Jamaica's 64th Independence with a celebration vibe. I am surprised I had not known about this restaurant earlier. The establishment is quite lovely. Great ambiance with sultry green with gold and black accents. They are not playing when it comes to the prices as they have the $$$ for a reason. It is even pricier than comparable restaurants in Manhattan or in Downtown Brooklyn. The Curry goat came with white rice and steamed veggies. The Oxtail came with rice and peas and steamed veggies. Both servings were very generous and flavorful. The Curry goat was a little too overcooked in some parts but still good. The rice and peas had a great consistency to compliment the Oxtail and gravy. The plates were extra large. Our server, O'Neil, suggested the Mango Tango as a non-alcoholic option. I loved the presentation and the flavor. The lemonade also tasted great. Even the side of sweet plantains and Jerk chicken felt like they could be its own meal. We had to take some home. Kudos to the Drive Through option and very clean restrooms. Maybe we were fortunate to visit when things were not hectic but sometimes that is the right time to just enjoy the full experience without too much crowd and distractions. One comment regarding the To-go/Take-out option is that I noticed they only give you 1 plantain as a side in the Oxtail we ordered at the Drive Through. In my opinion, a side of plantain means at least 4 plantain pieces, but I will take three. So when we had to ask if just one is customary and they said yes, I was taken aback, but they said they could give us 1 more piece. I dined in at this restaurant just recently. The ambience is beautiful (the only reason I gave two stars). My order took 30 minutes, and it was just a plain, overpriced tossed salad. While we were trying to eat, a photographer kept taking pictures and trying to sell them to us. It was intrusive, and the photographer came across as ill-mannered. Unfortunately, our waitress wasn't much better. I also ordered a non-alcoholic sorrel for $10, only to later discover it was listed for $6.95 on the takeout menu. Had I noticed that sooner, I would have questioned the price. I will never come back here. There are plenty of other restaurants with the same, if not better, ambience, friendlier service, and without the questionable practice of charging significantly different prices on the takeout menu compared to the dine-in menu. Charging more for the exact same non-alcoholic drink simply because you're dining in doesn't sit right with me. read more

Wanted to try this place so I went with my hubby for date night. Our waitress Natacha was amazing. She checked on us constantly, she was very kind. The reason for 4 stars- while I loved the shrimp with sweet chilly sauce and the oxtail, hubby liked his burger, the codfish fritters were a bit dense, the rice was a bit dry and hard and the sorrel was overpowered by ginger and sugar. I am West Indian so I know that each island makes things differently, these were very different from other restaurants I've been to. I will go back to try other dishes. The DJ was great, hubby and I were dancing in our seats. The music was not too loud where I couldn't have a comfortable conversation. Came here for the first time on a date. Right in Brooklyn carribean fusion restaurant. It was the drive thu that got me; very smart and great idea and very innovative for a restaurant to have that's not fast food. My waitress Natasha was wonderful! There's outside seating which you can see from walking up. The door looks very fancy and it fits the decor inside. The decor is nice with a full bar and ample space for large groups. It's very romantic. Dj was on point. The Food: Our appetizer was the chili shrimp which was good. They also gave us bread with 3 dipping sides: (Garlic butter, olive oil, and tomatoe). I liked the tomatoe dip, the others didn't taste like anything. My date ordered the curry chicken which he enjoyed. He said, it was flavorful and tasted good. Of course being haitian I opted for the Tassot (fried goat), which came with black rice and veges. The food was good and veges were done well; very tasty. Ford drinks I had the elderflower drink with gin, I thought it would've been purple but it was pretty and reminded me of a mojito. The Jueness red wine was good. We were looking for an eat- in restaurant near Kings plaza with good reviews and Bamboo Walk fit the bill. Service from Fayanne was good and the food was really well seasoned and everything wasn't nicely cooked. I highly recommend the fried goat-tender, flavorful, very tasty. Steak, while cooked over what was requested was also expertly seasoned and tasty. We celebrated my mom's 73rd birthday at Bamboo Walk with a party of 11. The restaurant was very accommodating when making our reservation, which we appreciated, especially with a larger group. Before our dinner, I asked about bringing an outside birthday cake and was told there would be a $20 holding fee plus a $5 per-slice cake-cutting fee. I completely expected there to be a cake-cutting fee, but charging per slice felt a bit excessive, especially for a party of 11. Most restaurants I've experienced charge a flat fee of around $30-$50 depending on the establishment. Because of the additional cost, we decided not to bring the cake. The appetizers and drinks were good, and overall we enjoyed the food. However, some of the entrées were served cold. My entrée in particular was not warm enough for me to enjoy, so I decided not to eat it at the restaurant and packed it to go instead. One person in our party also received the wrong order, but the staff corrected it. Despite those issues, we had an enjoyable evening celebrating my mom. The ambiance was nice, the music created a great Caribbean vibe, and our group had a good time overall. I decided to take my family here for a family dinner to spend some quality time and have great food. From the outside decor you can tell that this is a luxe environment. The decor inside was very intentional to give a luxury high class feel of fine dining. Food: 3.9/5 I'd say the food was delicious but there were few things that stood out to me. I ordered a few appetizers : calamari, and the conch salad. Both were amazing flavorful and the portion size for the calamari was really good and the dipping sauce which was a chipotle mayo was delish. I ordered jerk salmon and rice off the menu as my family members got fish and chips and a red snapper. The price point is between moderate and pricey but well worth it. Service: 4/5 staff was very attentive, kind & very helpful. They even had a love Dj playing early 2000's and mid 80's music which was such a nice vibe and a little bit of dancehall but he mixed so well. Ambiance: 5/5 so so nice. I loved it from the decor to the sitting area to the bathroom. I pass this restaurant every day and I've been meaning to try it out because I've heard great things, and i was not disappointed. The food was great! The drinks were also really good and strong. I made a reservation just because i wanted to ensure that the table was available. The service was a 10/10 as well. The decor and ambiance is very nice. The restaurant was very beautifully decorated inside, and they gave us hot towels after our meals to freshen up our hands. They had fresh bread with 3 different compote butters on the side. The bread was delicious and that garlic butter was great. The griot i had was so good. The black rice on the side was an extra $16 which i thought was a little much, because it wasn't a large size of rice and it had no protein in it. So that was a little sticker shock. But the rice was just okay lol. The plantain were good and the stir fry was good too. My friends enjoyed their meals of Caesar salad with jerk chicken and the bamboo pasta with shrimp. My friend ordered a lychee martini and sorrel punch and each was good. I ordered a Hennessy punch to drink and it was delicious and the right amount of Hennessy. All in all, I'll will be back. My friend and I wanted to go somewhere for a girls chat and a drink and eats. I was drawn to this place because I saw on social media that a carribean restaurant had a drive thru and I was intrigued because it was a different concept. I didn't need to use it today but I did want to try the restaurant. When we arrived we just made it in time for the end of happy hour so we ordered a round of Bahama Mamas. We also got appetizers. Codfish Fritters and Calamari. We did wait quite a while for the appetizers that I was good for the night. The appetizers were definitely worth the wait but now I know that next time I visit I need to come prepared to wait. The drinks were great, we ended up ordering another round. After we ate and drank, the waitress brought us a wet warm towel to wipe our hands. I was very impressed about the level of care towards the patrons. The bathroom was very clean but we were missing soap on the shared outside sink. the establishment was very clean as well and the bar was beautifully stocked and illuminated. I'm so late with this post. My sisters and I came to Brooklyn to visit a bridal store, Pantora, And were recommended this restaurant. From greeting to seating, the ambience was beautiful. The staff was so warm and friendly. Everyone paid attention and gave us the upmost service. It was almost like we were part of their family. The food portions were large and well worth it. The food was so flavorful, and the drinks were exquisite. We are actually scheduled to go back for my sister's birthday all the way from New Jersey Monday. The jerk wings were seasoned extremely well and were bursting with flavor. The pepper shrimp was exactly that - full of pepper seasoning and was presented in a pepper sauce. For our entree we had the curry goat, bamboo pasta with shrimp and the sweet chili shrimp. The curry goat was very tender and full of flavor. The food finally arrived piping hot, (which was a plus), because i knew that meant it was cooked fresh however, when I got it home, it was a disappointment. The pasta was bland, with very little flavor. The salmon was overcooked & dry and the "steamed" vegetables were overcooked as well. An Appetizer of codfish fritters to share. For the entrees my friend had Jerk Chicken Pasta & I had the fried goat (Tassot) with black rice and veggies. Her jerk chicken and pasta was good. Can't go wrong with that simple dish. My food on the other hand... Everything was lukewarm warm. My veggies were on the cold side. So it seemed as though they microwaved my food before serving. The black rice was not good, It was bland and they didn't use the right type of rice. The veggies were also blah, nothing special. The ambiance & service makes the restaurant a quality place but the price for the food ($160) vs what's given does not go hand in hand. I personally wouldn't return. I visited this restaurant today to celebrate my daughter's graduation, and although the atmosphere was beautiful, the food unfortunately did not live up to the price or the occasion. The restaurant had a lovely forest-inspired design that felt warm and inviting, and the bar area was also very well done. The space was clean, and the servers were friendly enough, which I appreciated. However, the dining experience itself left me disappointed. The prices were extremely high for the quality of the food served. For example, a snapper entrée was priced at $71, which felt outrageous for a restaurant that does not have the kind of recognition or reputation one would expect at that price point. We ordered the sampler as well, and several of the items were underwhelming. The pork was dry and hard, the fries with burger was overly greasy and saturated with oil. The lamb with mashed potatoes was not tender enough. I also ordered the jerk salmon with rice and peas, but the salmon was overcooked and rubbery, and the rice and peas were dry.Another outrageous addition was the 20% gratuity regardless of party size. Overall, while the restaurant has a beautiful setting and decent service, the food quality did not justify the cost. For a Caribbean sit-down meal, I would personally choose to spend my money elsewhere where the price and quality are better matched. read more

It took me a while to visit this place. It is a beloved establishment in many groups I am a part of. Such is the case that when a family member wanted recommendations for their post graduation lunch, it came to mind. I appreciated the fact that they were willing to accommodate our last minute request for 8 people (not my choice I swear). It was immensely kind and their servers displayed a similar great attitude throughout our experience. The decor was definitely designed for a going out experience as opposed to a casual eatery (which there are many in the area). There were many options on the menu to have a drink (alcoholic or not) and enjoy a nice meal. The service was a bit slow at times but then again this was high school graduation season so there were many families there for the same reason we were. I think things would be even better when it isn't so popular. Our order came out correctly with all we wanted to order. I was a huge fan of the pepper shrimp (appetizer) and the calamari was fresh and warm (appetizer). The lamb chops I ordered had a great sauce and was technically cooked to my liking. However it wasn't my favorite lamb chops in terms of pure lamb flavor. The portions for all of our dishes were decent. At the end, they gave my relative a cake slice to celebrate her graduation. This restaurant is nothing less than amazing. I've been here twice this year for dinner and was thrilled. There's so many options to select from on the menu. I love the Bamboo Rum Punch. I've had the codfish fritters, crab cakes, and sweet chilli shrimp for starters. As far as entrée is concerned, I've had the shrimp pasta and oxtail pasta. I topped it off with a slice of carrot cake for dessert. This venue is lovely; great customer service. You're greeted and seated right away. This last time after our reservation, we waited approximately 45 minutes before being seated, and 1 hr and 10 minutes before our food finally was served to our table. It was a very busy night with lots of Graduation/Birthdays. I thought the Ambiance was beautiful, food was ok, service ok, but find the prices on the menu pretty expensive. Parking was our first challenge -- the restaurant's small shared lot (with a funeral home next door) only has a few spaces, so we ended up finding street parking about two blocks away. I ordered the Braised Oxtail with rice and peas and seasonal vegetables -- the oxtail was cooked to perfection, tender enough to fall right off the bone, and full of flavor. The rice and vegetables were just right. My wife had the Korean BBQ wings (soy sauce, ginger, and sesame oil) with macaroni and cheese and sweet plantains. While she enjoyed the plantains, she found the wings and mac & cheese to be just okay. A unique touch was having a photographer on-site who took our photos. A few minutes later, they returned with them in glass picture frames. It was a lovely keepsake idea -- although at $20 each plus tax, it was definitely a pricey surprise. For dessert, we shared a slice of Red Velvet cake, which was a nice way to end the meal. I had a rum punch and my wife enjoyed a piña colada -- both were well-made and satisfying. Overall, Bamboo Walk delivered great service, a beautiful atmosphere, and a solid dining experience. While not every dish was a hit, I'd come back again, especially for the ambiance, the oxtail, and the warm, friendly service. read more
