Over $10 fish with some onions and peppers just taste like a little vinegar to me

First of all, they don't grill the chicken they put on top of inside commercial stove If you don't see a grill outside it's not jerk chicken. Haven't eaten in a long time. The price is phenomenal pricey for that spot hole in wall s. The line was long, but it went quickly. The place is old. Nothing updating like a shaggy shack in Jamaica. jerk sauce I could've bought it from the supermarket.Taste better. Fish was kind of dry The onions and peppers was not nothing spectacular when I go back again. No, I think I could do a better job myself.

Straight hole in the wall Jamaican take out spot. The place was run down and in dire need of a complete makeover. Looked a bit on the dirty side but that's just from the waiting,/ordering area. Maybe the kitchen is very clean. The lady that took orders was pleasant. The prices here are real decent. $10-14 bucks for a plate of food. Decent portions. The food was solid.

I liked the two sauces offered. Takeaway only. Had the curry goat + jerk chicken. Tore them both up. Solid choice and large portions.

It's really crazy to see how peppas have fell off. I ordered jerk chicken today. It was jerk chicken out the pan not off the grill with pimento. 4//10 wouldn't recommend they have fell off. There's jerk chicken that's better all over Flatbush

    Festival - so good :)

Food is always fresh. The jerk chicken is SO GOOD!! Festival hits the spot every time. It's a very small space, so pack your patience. There may be a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. Also, bring your bills. It's CASH ONLY!!

A cash only establishment. There is an ATM in the lobby. I eat here a few times a month because its very good and tastes like home. The meat is where it is at. I rarely get the sides but the mac and cheese is decent. My favorite is the fried porgy and festival. The jerk chicken is flavorful but make sure you ask for it to be well done if you like the skin crispy. The pepper shrimp has been hit or miss because sometimes the shrimp is too soft but the flavor and spice is spot on. Price and portion size is fair. The place is small and you have to pay attention when you order. There is no number or name system when ordering. You order on the right side of the counter and pay/pick up food on on the left side of the counter.

I have been sleeping on Peppa! Seriously. I pass by quite often, see the line and think o wow that place must be good. But I am not a line person if there are other options. Finally a few weeks ago there was not much of a line (just 3 people before us.) I had to get the jerk chicken dinner. For $15 bucks the plate was HUGE. We tipped $5 because it feels like it should be worth more. The food was so delicious and the jerk chicken was even better than the one I had in Jamaica. I can't even describe it. Just listen when I say don't sleep on it. Go to Peppa's.

Peppa! Where have you been all my life? I can't believe how good your jerk chicken is. Delicious. I couldn't stop licking my fingers after each bite. The cashier/server has a system. You tell him your order. He writes it down then he tells you to move to the left. When it's your turn, he asks you bbq or hot sauce. Then he quotes you the price while he puts your order in a bag. He knows how to wrap it up. There is aluminum foil around the box. Here is a word of advice. This is not picnic friendly food. You need wet napkins. It gets messy.

Orders are made at the register as soon as you walk in, even for dine-in orders. I ordered grilled chicken with yellow rice and red beans and a side of sweet plaintains. The chicken was those flat, paper thin strips with grill marks all over. It was tender but not very flavorful. The yellow rice was good and the beans were fine. The sweet plaintains were the best part of my meal. They were cooked nice and brown and they weren't mushy at all. I asked for hot sauce. I was given a cold bottle of hot sauce from the fridge. The dipping sauce helped to give the chicken a little zing. Chicken Stop is a narrowly built restaurant with decent seating, dim lighting and fake grass walls. There was a large, flat-screen TV hanging from the fake grass wall, showing the news. The satellite music was an awful mix of soft rock and country/western. Menu prices are reasonable. I have business in that area now. I'll be dining at Chicken Stop again.

The chicken was fried perfectly; it crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside. The portions are generous, and although I paid almost $30 for dinner with rice, I still had enough left over for another meal. It's definitely pricier than many of the more affordable spots around Chinatown, but they're serving a more niche menu rather than the usual dumplings, noodles, or Chinese BBQ, so I think the price is justified. They also accept cards, which is convenient compared with some other spots in the neighborhood that are cash-only. The main reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the service. There was some miscommunication with the staff, my drinks were brought to another table, and they almost did the same with my food before I signaled that it was mine. The tables also weren't the cleanest and could've used a quick wipe-down between guests. That said, the restaurant is very small, probably only 10-12 seats, so space is definitely limited. Despite the service issues, I really enjoyed the food and would come back. If you're looking for something different from the typical Chinatown offerings, Peking House is definitely worth trying!

Even the collard greens (and that's saying something, coming from a Southern transplant). The food is reasonably priced and high on flavor. But this review is less about the menu and more about the level of customer service demonstrated by the owner. A recent Seamless order went wrong, and our Sunday dinner was never delivered. (Unhappy hungry toddler on-board!) All Seamless could offer was a $5 credit and generic "oopsie" apology. I wrote to the restaurant directly to share our disappointment and expected as similarly short response. Instead, the owner called me directly to apologize, promising to make it right. He gave me his personal cell number and invited me to text him ahead of our next order so he could personally ensure a successful delivery. (He even followed up to make sure we didn't forget his offer.) That level of human-to-human customer service is so rare. Big thanks to Yosef & Team at Lula Bird. It is full of flavor, albeit not that cheap considering this hole in the wall restaurant is located in an iffy part of Crown Heights. There is nowhere to eat here. Just take your food, walk up to Eastern Parkway, and eat it there... if you are brazen enough. I am not, so I walked to the Nostrand Ave subway station (on the 3 train) and took a roughly 30 minute subway ride home. The sides I got were the coleslaw (it is a vinegar-based slaw, not a mayonnaise based), and the roasted potatoes. They both taste great, along with the famed "green sauce", which is really a spicy Peruvian garlic sauce. No fooling me! I drank this stuff by the gallon when I lived in Virginia. If you get a combo, you also get their famed cornbread, but my goodness is it dense. It feels heavy in the hand, but also contains heavy flavor. They even cook corn bits into the bread itself! Really unique take and something I can definitely appreciate. The Bird is definitely the word here.
