This was our second visit here, but likely our last. We were so excited to come back... until we…read morerealized this wasn't the restaurant we thought it was. The one we meant to return to is a few hundred feet farther up the road. I should've known the moment I saw the parking lot across the street.
We got a great seat with a view but that was the highlight. It took 15 minutes just to get menus - which was actually just a QR code, so be sure your phone is charged. I tried to convince my husband to leave while we were waiting, but he was committed. After waiting another ten minutes for our order to be taken and fifteen more minutes for our drinks to arrive. Two hours and $130 later, he regrets that commitment.
I ordered the pineapple rice with shrimp, which was genuinely delicious -- the shining star of the evening. My husband ordered a porterhouse that looked suspiciously like a T‑bone and chewed like shoe leather. I gently reminded him he has never had a good steak on this island, but hope is a powerful (and apparently pricey) force.
I ordered a mojito to relax, but it must've been the "suggestion of alcohol" version because I'm not convinced any actually made it into the glass. Tasty, yes. Calming, no.
The entire experience took two hours. The view is lovely, but unfortunately, you can't eat the view.
