Bambu dessert was actually a second option because the other tapioca place was closed. Bambu is a vietnamese tapioca/dessert drinks chain. I was desperate for a tapioca drink, so I had Bambu anyways. One great thing about this place was how nice the girl working the ipad/cash register was. She promptly took our orders and suggested for us to partake in the "buy 4 get 1 free deal". We all ordered our drinks (there was 9 of us) and waited in the seating area. It is kind of squished with random tables kind of placed, but we made it work. Our drinks quickly came out. But I guess since we had so many orders, the people inside making our drinks got confused. We ended up being short one drink and we had to pull out the receipt to show evidence we purchased it. Now, the actual drinks were downright awful. Most of us ordered the milk teas with tapioca. And anyone who ordered any fruit-flavored teas was disgusted by it. It was so obvious that it is made from powder and it was sweetened way too much. I took a sip of my sister's taro milk tea and all i tasted was powder. It was terrible. I ordered my jasmine milk tea with one half sugar and it was extremely watered down. The tapioca itself was too chewy probably sat in the bin way too long because the flavor of my drink never went into them. The drinks were each about $3.50 and above, which is a little pricey...especially for the quality and quantity of the drink. Stay away from the milk teas. I have been craving Che for awhile now so was very excited to see this location when I went to have dinner in the area. The girls behind the counter were very sweet and patient with me as I browsed the menu binder. Luckily, we just missed the prom crowd and rush hour so it was just my family at the time. Ended up ordering the #4 and a milk tea to go because I was beyond full at the time. She suggested putting the ice on the side and to be mixed in before eating. Love this location! I always get the black milk tea with boba. Recently I tried their hazelnut mocha milk tea with boba, SUPER delicious & now a new fav! Their macaroons are great too! This Bambu location is not like the other ones. I've tried the milk tea at this location and it is way TOO sweet and it has no tea flavor at all. I asked if I can make it less sweet and the owner said it's not sweet so I don't have to. Well you were wrong. For the che, it's sweet too and they do not give a lot of ice. The tapioca had me coming back six times in just one week, ridiculous. I am picky when it comes to having tapioca in drinks. Bambu prepares the tapioca perfectly as it is soft to chew, not overcooked and rubbery compared to most tapioca places. I am impressed at how the flavors of the drinks are really pronounced and do not taste as if it was made of powder, especially the taro coconut. I arrived at about 3:00 and it was pretty crowded, but the line moved quickly. The drink that I got was the chai milk tea with coconut milk and boba pearls. When I received the tea, there were no big straws out so I had to ask for one and the worker at the front quickly brought some out. My tea was alright, the coconut flavor was overpowering and the tea was lukewarm. However, the inside was very clean with nice decor. Also, I could see powDee particles floating around in my drink. I am so excited that Bambu come to town. Its great to be able to head over and get a really well made drink. i personally had the milk tea boba and it was great- I can tell they used real black tea and not a powder tea. It was fresh and crisps and had no strange aftertaste like the powder tea. My friend had a limeberry smoothie and it was also very fresh and made from real fruit. Really really good. They have a binder as a menu there with pictures and descriptions of each drink and dessert, so, if this is new to you, you'll know what you're getting.
