Service was quick and friendly, except we had to hunt down some chopsticks. We got bun bo hue, and pho ga. Both were ok, but we had to add lots of sauces to get more flavor. Decent meat portions and noodles. I would skip the shrimp appetizer, they were ewww and the rolls were just ok. Stopped by for some dinner. We were seated quickly. Our order was taken, and we waited for our food. Oddly, there were no spoons at our table. I checked the table next to us, no spoons either. We got our food which was really hot and ready to be eaten. Unfortunately, we had to wait until someone came and brought spoons for the food. I'm a little harsher judge on Vietnamese food but this honestly a decent option for the area (just not the best I've had). They gave me plenty of vegetables with my pho and egg rolls which I love. The egg rolls were good but I think they probably cook a batch and have them under a heater because it wasn't super hot and freshly fried. The food came out very quick which is nice! I visited Dallas in February, and it was the coldest time of the year. Because of the cold weather, I really wanted to eat Pho, so I searched for restaurants around the hotel, and Pho Empire came up in the search results, so I drove there right away. When I went into the restaurant, it was very spacious, had great interior, and had a clean and quiet atmosphere. I ordered Meatball Pho, and the Pho broth was clean and good, and there were a lot of Meatballs, so I had a very satisfying meal. And it really was, the pho was very flavorful with plenty of meat, I didn't like the fact that they just brought one plate of beans sprouts with jalapeños for our table. I've been coming to Pho Empire for 6 years, but after my last two experiences, I'm never coming back. In October, I ordered the K2 and found mold on my tofu (see picture below). That should have been my sign to stop coming, but I gave them another chance. Today, I ordered the K2 again and found a bug in my food. Great food nice relaxing atmosphere. We dined in not expecting anything but we pleasantly surprised!

I still eat here at least two or three times per month and I feel the quality has decreased over the last year. The portions are still generous but the last couple of times something about the taste didn't sit right. The other thing that's annoying is that as soon as you sit down they are wanting to take your order and wanting to clear the table before you're even done eating. It's not like there's a lot of people waiting for a table, every time I come there's like 6 busy tables in the center section and mostly empty elsewhere. I was hoping I would enjoy this place, but not all was bad, the place is nice looking, clean and nice servers,but my Pho was just plain boring and bland, is there anything as overcooked noodles? Some of the protein was very gamey. The tendon was thick and very chewy, trust me I love tendon, this was just beyond chewy, the soup base was waaaay off, no flavor whatsoever and no matter how much Sriracha, lime and other condiments, I just could not fix it. On the bright side the Speing rolls were good but even that had hiccups, shell on the Shrimp, so yeah had some spitting out to do. If this is the best in Irving, you can stay there. read more

Been going here for years, always getting the same things... pho... shrimp spring rolls... bun. Two visits ago I tried one of their Chef's Specials--Bánh Ướt Đặc Biệt (S82). REALLY good! Personally I was not a fan of what I guess were the steamed rice sheets--thick slippery rice noodles that were clumped together--and might see if they can use the vermicelli noodles next time. Today I reverted back to bun, specifically Bún Đặt Biệt (V1). Portion size was huge; took half home. The "charbroiled" chicken was my only complaint... it didn't feel like charbroiled chicken I've had in bun before. Bad service. Bad hygiene. Place is dirty. Hair was on the table, in the menu and in my bowl of pho. Gross. The soup was barely warm. Regular sized bowl barely had any chicken in it and the little pieces in it were tough like leather. There was also a piece of mystery meat on the side of the bowl. Cross contamination. I felt sick after eating here. Bathroom is also dirty and had no paper towels. People making and serving the food are not Vietnamese. When I walked in the three people working there just ignored me. I ordered: Pho Empire: Definitely for the seasoned pho aficionado. It's basically the standard deluxe, special, "train", or everything but the kitchen sink option at most pho places. It has various pieces of tender/crunchy beef and meatballs. The XL size comes in sizable bowl and A LOT of noodles. You will definitely walk away full. The broth is decent, but it could be better. For my taste it could use a little more fish sauce or some other salty alternative. A2. Goi Cuon (Fresh Spring Rolls): Tastes fresh; however, the pork they use is a pork cake instead of boiled pork so they texture is a little off for me. That aside, it is a great appetizer to start your meal. The pricing is on par with other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The service us extremely quick! In fact, within 10 minutes of us sitting down, our group received all of our food (appetizers included). A perfect spot for a weekday lunch. I have been frequenting Pho Empire for more than 15 years and they keep on cranking out some of the best pho in the area consistently and deliciously since I have been visiting. The service is always fantastic. The spring rolls always delicious. The pho broth just has that lip smacking "YUMMY!" Satisfying goodness. The pho meat and noodles taste great all the time and it always scratches that itch for a pho craving. I also recommend the appetizer fried chicken, which is fried up to perfection. The Thai tea is good here to as well. Lastly I have always enjoyed their ice tea. It's not the normal Texas ice tea it's a jasmine flower tea, which I always enjoy the flavor of, and take to go when I leave.
