Product is very good, however the service... not so much (hence one star off). I came in at a busy time, with tables completely taken up my customers. It took about 10 minutes for us to get our drinks, even though it seemed to be just laying at the cashier for some time. Bambu is quite a famous place as they have quite a few locations all around so I decided to try them out! Not only that I got a stomach ache and diarrhea because of their drink, I also got pretty pissed off by their customer service. The girl didn't listen carefully to my order and make many extras of wrong order. When I sent it back, she showed attitude and talked about me in Vietnamese calling me and my sister "crazy, stupid bitches" when it is clearly her fault. Little did she know I am also Vietnamese and know exactly what she mean. If you work in service industry, I'm sorry but WATCH YOUR WORD!!! Customer satisfaction will determine your success!! Super cute modern little place in Madison Heights welcoming and clean. I tried the Jasmine Milk tea and it was really delicious and refreshing. A friend recommended me this place and told me I had to get the number ten Bambu favorite. It was delicious!!! I love pandan flavored desserts and this really hit the spot especially since I am not overly fond of coconut milk . Staff are all super helpful in choosing the best drink for you! Everything on the menu looks tasty and is fairly priced. The line did get long at one point and there was easily a 15 minute wait, but the staff was clearly doing everything they could to keep everyone happy and keep the drinks coming out. Dude! This place was so cool! I am a bubble tea fanatic but I had never tried anything like this before! They have about ten different specialty drinks (in addition to just normal tea drinks and smoothies) that are filled to the brim with tapioca of all kinds, shapes, and colors, and other fillings as well. It's not like a regular bubble tea drink. It is like 60% solid pieces so it's more like a snack than a drink even though you eat/drink this with a straw. I found it really interesting and therefore I thought it was also a good value since it wasn't something I could just make at home. Got a Durien smoothie. It tasted like it was minus the Durien. A waste of $6.80, which is more than a big city price (ex. NYC, Chicago, LA). I have had Durien smoothies in half a dozen major cities, and this was by far the worst and most expensive. I take that back, probably 2nd worst (worst was Fresno, CA which had stale boba). We even brought the Durien smoothie back to give Bambu a chance to fix it, but got it back again, tasteless. Ended up getting a banana milk shake elsewhere to satisfy my craving. read more

I dealt w 3 different workers and they all were rude when I asked a question. I asked for milk tea and they gave me milk with ice. What. The. Fuck. Wouldn't let me exchange my drink because it was against their policy. So I gave the drink back, I wasn't going to drink it anyways . The food and the menu and presentation is excellent! I've been going to bambu ever since it open and it's great but the one thing that is terrible is there shitty customer service. Every time I go in their no matter male or female who's taking my order they always have a rude attitude towards me. I walked in on Friday night, May 11,2018 at 9:25. When they took my order I asked for boba/pearls and they were all out and the girl tells me in a rude tone " We're all out, so pick something else." I work in the restaurant business too and I get it's almost closing and it's Friday but seriously this isn't the first time. When customers come in they should be expecting welcoming and nice tone from the workers but I never get that. A business is not just your product, it's also about service and the service is biased and rude. So to the girl in the white and red letter baseball cap and in a maroon sweater fix your damn attitude. I don't want anything back, I'm not looking for that but I do want when I go back that I get better customer service. read more

Love the concept! As others have mentioned before there are quite a few of these places in SoCal. However, compared to the Socal one, this one is definitely much nicer in terms of decor and overall presentation. The drinks and desserts are the star of the show here and don't let you down. A few friend I've brought here have been hit or miss. The menu can be confusing if you aren't familiar with some of the ingredients, but all and all I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here. Why the low score? The serve here is borderline awful. Be warned, the wait can be long once the place gets a little packed which is a testament to their great drinks. However, the cashiers seem very disingenuous and on a couple occasions gotten our orders wrong. I was just met with a blank stare and had to ask they remake the order. read more

I stopped here today finally after wanting to try them for some time now. The last time I was in the area, it was during their grand opening and the lines were out the door. I went on a Monday afternoon and there was little wait. They have an extensive menu of bubble teas, smoothies, coffee, and teas. I decided to try their #1 Coconut Special. It had coconut juice, basil seeds (reminds me of chia), longan, and pandan jelly. I was taken back when my drink was almost $6 with tax but when I tried a sip, I understood the price tag. They use fresh coconut juice and jellies taste homemade. I have never had this drink before so I can't compare to how it is supposed to taste, but it was refreshing and light. I requested mine for no added sugar and it was perfectly sweet for me (tip for those trying to cut down sugar like me). There is also a 5-10 minute wait for your drink but seeing as how fresh it is, it is not an issue for me. I will definitely be back. Not an everyday splurge but definitely on occasion. read more

Great and happy staff and drink was the best Boba tea that I have had so far. I like the little display carousel that shows you all the different pearls and stuff you can add to the tea. The menu is very well laid out and easy to understand even if you are a first timer. Also it smells really good in there. What was also really cool is the drink comes with hermetically sealed plastic cover so it won't spill or anything if you are traveling with it, that was kind of cool. read more

We come to get our favorite drinks and we pay for ours. I believe the customers deserve a better service. I moved to Michigan from Hawaii over a year up til now because of work, and I've been visiting this location several times. The drinks deserve the whole two stars. I'm never happy with the service. I saw the cashiers smile at each other, showing stuffs on their phones, and laughing all the time. But, when it comes to customers, the smiles somehow disappear. Today is another bad experience. I ordered #19 which is avocado smoothie, and a lychee milk tea for my friend. I let the girl know that I wanted tapioca for lychee milk tea and no tapioca for the smoothie. She gave me two milk teas then quickly going back inside. I didn't know her name so I said " Excuse me" several times. She didn't come out until another customer walked in. I told her I ordered #19 and lychee milk tea. She said " No, you ordered one milk tea with pearl and a lychee milk tea without pearl !!???". *sigh*... I knew the order got messed up. So I just dropped the issue and left with the drink, kind of irritated this time. I've been to so many places from different states, never had a consistency of unhappy experience like this place somehow gave me. I think I would just come back only when to pick up a drink for my friend on the way home or if this place is my last option. I don't mind driving further for better customer service. read more
