First time at this specific branch. It was fairly busy, with a lot of families, but despite that, the ordering was quick and food took reasonably quick time to be ready. As a quick service restaurant, ordering is at the counter and there are lots of tables. The food was great - we ordered that the Lamb Shank with Kabli rice and a chicken breast kebab (with bread instead of rice). The food was flavourful, and the lamb shank was particularly well made. I went to this location with a big group. Service was great, food was amazing. Staff was great. The only staff that was terrible was the managers or higher ups. Treated their staff terribly. I was standing by and heard every way they were talking to staff. I speak Farsi and these managers are pure disgust. I as an Afghan will never tolerate the sexism and forced labour they put on the girls working. These manager are disgusting. Wish the best for all the other staff members. read more

The best, most drool-worthy, freshest kabobs and rice you could find. This Afghan restaurant keeps it simple with their vibe and their food. The portions are huge and the dinners come with rice, salad and fresh bread along with 2 sauces. Definitely a bang for your buck. I believe most dishes range from $12-20. We have tried all their dinner meals but my favourite is the barg dinner (lamb) and tikka kabob (beef). Don't forget to try the firnee for dessert. It's underrated but so yummy!! read more

The Vaughan location of Bamiyam Kabob is very solid as I was impressed with the service and food quality when I visited with my friends the other week. First time at this location and having a kofta kabob wrap. It was $C8.99 plus tax. The halal ground beef was fresh and seasoned nicely with fresh seasonings and herbs. Grilled to perfection and not overdone. The wrap was thin and fresh along with the salad. The hot pepper salsa just made the sandwich a lot better and moist. Service was the only not so good rating. Had to wait over 15 minutes for the order to be fulfilled. The overall restaurant was clean but there were many tables with plates and trays. uncleared. It is a restaurant where you go to pick up your food when they call your order number and there's trash bins and trays to put your plate and cutlery down when you finish eating. Although its a self service, a little loud and time taking order serving place, but since the food taste delicious and awesome i am gonna give it 10 outa 10. My updated review really confirms everything I wrote two or so years ago. It is good to see that this business is consistent and has not dropped its standard. The one thing that has changed is that all the chairs are stacked on the tables and the business is all take-out - obviously. I had the Soltani and the Chopan Kabobs with a mixture of salad and rice. While prices have increased everywhere Bamiyan's has not. Try an Iranian kabob restaurant or a Turkish one and you would pay double Bamiyan's prices. A nice tasty sandwich at Champion Doner up the street costs as much as a plate with rice here. What is more, the food is plentiful, delicious and not lacking in quality. The lamb in Choppan was not too soft and not tough and enjoyable. The kofta (minced meat) in Sultani was soft and tender, while the barg (second skewer) more spiced with pepper than I had remembered from last time, but that was not a bad thing. The included sauces for the dish and the accompanying salad really add that particular zest that no one else offers and are not to be missed. The lady at the cash was polite and gave me constant updates, but my order was ready in ten minutes nevertheless having not called ahead. i enjoyed looking at the roller coasters at Wonderland as I waited. The premises seemed clean. What's more: I was not prompted for a tip and there was no tip jar on the counter. The prices are the prices are the prices here. What a concept! I will finish the rice with salad and naan tomorrow! I absolutely love the Bamiyan restaurants, as I've been to a few already. When I found out I had one virtually next door, I got really excited. I was seriously craving some of their food after a long day of work. The place is quite large and can seat many people. There was a large group of over 10 people there but no line up. I decided to get a kofta and tandoori chicken meal. So apparently they have a meal that's half kofta kebab and regular chicken, but if you get the tandoori it's an extra 2+$ charge. The food is good, so I didn't care for the extra charge. I also got their mango smoothie. The most unfortunate part for this location is that they don't have a mantoo machine. I really hope they get one sometime soon, because those mantoos are to die for. The meal was big and delicious. Both the chicken and kofta were juicy, the rice perfectly done and I love their salad sauce. I was a bit bummed out that I didn't get their white garlicky sauce in my takeout order, but the red spicy sauce was great. The bread that comes on the side is SO good! The mango smoothie is a definite must try. I'll definitely be back for more sometime very soon! read more

Left me no choice but to use USD! I was surprised to know that the manager and the cashier took USD $35 and did not automatically give my change back! according to Canadian dollars, I was ripped off because their cash register doesn't convert and therefore they had the right to keep my entire $35.00! I WOULD STRONGLY SAY THAT DO NOT GO WITHOUT CANADIAN DOLLARS OR ELSE YOUR CAD$35 WILL NOW COST YOU USD$35.00! The owner doesn't give a FREAK about this policy and ends up pocketing US DOLLARS! Wandered in here before going to the Barber Shop as you could smell the wonderful BBQ all through the area and I couldn't resist. I got the Chicken Breast Kabob Wrap and boy was it good. First of all, they cook everything to order so be prepared to wait 5-10 mins even for a simple wrap. Because of that, it shows up piping hot and super fresh, in a huge wrap. The chicken chunks were beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly. The wrap came with really nice, crispy lettuce and tomatoes but also with some sort of yogurt-based sauce which I wish I had known about ahead of time as I'm lactose intolerant. I shrugged, resigned myself to a night of abdominal pain, and dug in like a champ. It was so tasty I'm hoping it's worth it. Reasonable prices too, for the portion size. Fantastic place to eat. Would eat here every day if possible. I switched from fast food to this place and lost 10 lbs in a few months. Really tasty but healthy, good food. Naan always baked fresh to order. My favourite meal options are the sultani or barg with salad and naan depending on how hungry I am. I also upgrade to the "dinner" version on the weekend for a more substantial meal. I live in Maple but work in Brampton / Mississauga area. I visit their other locations frequently and have seen the owner at them depending on the day I go. I was attending a new place for physio and was a bit early so I decided to look around the plaza for a snack. Several doors down saw a sign for Bamiyan Kabob. I was intrigued by the sign that said home made ice cream and decided to try one. Inside the restaurant I was greeted with an array of mouth watering aromas. I had already had a lunch 2 hours earlier but I can see going to physio in this plaza will have me gaining weight. There were a number of people inside sampling dishes from their menu. I had never heard of this Afghanistan Kabob house and on the menu I asked for was shocked to see this was their 7th ,location in the GTA.. I know I will have to start sampling some of the dishes that produced the delicious aromas, I just have to figure out which ones will not cause me to gain as much weight. Their menu lists all the other GTA locations and again I was surprised that one area I go to has a restaurant that I have missed a number of times as the food looked and smelled wonderful. Many writers tell us that Toronto has a wonderful base of ethnic foods and we should be out sampling more of them. read more

Super flavourful grilled kebabs! The chicken kebab is out-of-this-world tender, I have no clue how they do it without the chicken becoming dry and hard. It was so juicy and delicious. The rice was also very flavourful on its own. The kofta is also a must try if you haven't had this type of food before. I believe it's a pork or beef-based ground meat that's packed into something like a sausage. The chicken qorma was nice, but fairly greasy so I'm not ordering that again. I'm not a fan of lamb, but my wife seemed to think it was pretty decent. The boulagnie / potato pancake was excellent! Beware, there is a bit of a spiciness to this, which they don't tell you about, so if you can't handle spice you've been warned! read more

This used to be Sultan Kabob, though the menu hasn't changed. I ordered the grilled salmon dinner and it was pretty good. The portion size was more than enough - like other Afghan restaurants. Don't go for their wraps, though. My friend ordered it and it fell apart. Like what's the point of a wrap if it doesn't wrap its contents? Lesson learned. read more

I wish i could give them no star! Thats how bad the service was not once but on multiple occassion. But still gave them a chance. The last time i went i ordered the tandoori chicken meal with a skewere of shami kebab on the side... it came with half a kebob and when i told the person he said because its a side order u get half not a full size.. i told him thats not true.. this is what i get all the time and i never had a problem.. the guy didnt care and refused to do anything about it! I paid full price for an extra skewer not half the price for half. After that day i never went.. i also told my family and friends to never go to this location.
