    Beef tikka with salad
    Daniel C.

Got this for takeout. Recommended by family as a new afghan place to try out. Located in a strip plaza, this is a pretty popular place for takeout based on people coming and going. There are some tables that are spaced out for dine in. The mantu were very good, it reminds me of ravioli that's made with thin chinese wonton dough. The filling is beef and onions which is deliciously savory. The Boulanee is not bad. Has a nice potato flavor and is decently thin with a good chew. The beef kabob is done well and tender. Lamb chops are super tender - definitely recommend. Lamb shank is nicely braised and fall off the bone. Salad is on the average side and the basmati rice Is pretty normal with raisins in it for sweetness. Chicken curry was a bit of a let down, the flavor was there but the chicken was super dry and stringy. Wouldn't order this again given the much better options. Price: I'd say more of a mid range priced restaurant compared to most kabob places so on the more affordable side. Overall, definitely worth trying. Everything seemed fresh

I personally handpicked this place out while looking for a place to dine in to meet up and catch up with friends. Additionally, an interesting note is that I was with an Afghan friend of mine so this should have made the experience feel much more authentic. My wish coming in was to come out of the restaurant after feeling full, satisfied, and having a good sense of what Afghan cuisine is like. This was not to be the case unfortunately. What I ordered was one of the most pricey menu items available which was the Chopan and Barg priced at $24.95. I was looking to splurge and order one of the supposedly premier dishes. It is not everytime that I go to an Afghan restaurant. After finishing the meal I was still left hungry. It was not a very satisfying meal, and considering that I have paid that steep of a price for it where I could have ate more for less in a lot of other places. The taste and flavour of the food was also seriously subpar. The sauces were ordinary, not exciting. The grilled meat was below average. You have the usual serving of grilled veggies but it was nothing special. The only thing that I could say it has going for it was the presentation of being served in a wooden board, but the immersion was quickly broken by having fries served with it as well. Having included the fries shot down any sort of authenticity to the Afghan food experience. It could have been substituted for a lot of other carbohydrate food items, and the food operators could have done better sticking to something more true. To compound my overpriced and inauthentic order was the place's horrible service. I had to follow-up several times to request for glasses and water. In a lot of other places serving water was standard or at least it was available as a self-service option somewhere in the restaurant. Another thing to comment on is when I tried asking if they have some sauce or anything to go with the bland fries, I was not answered properly and clearly. I can not even recall how exactly the response was. I just took to understand it as "no", and I just did not bother to request again. So to circle back to the objectives I set out to do going to this restaurant, I would say it failed to meet all of them. I was still hungry afterwards and feeling bad for having overpaid for my order. It was not advertised anywhere that it was an inspired mixed cuisine or a fusion restaurant, but there are a lot of Indian and Mediterranean items in the menu. I understand the geography and proximity of those regions, but it still holds true that I did not get the feel of how Afghan cuisine was really like from this place. Maybe it was the fries, maybe it was all the other reasons as well. The last statement I just want to say is that I now understand why the other middle eastern restaurant 2 to 4 locations away in the same place is always more full than Naan & Kabob.

Had some food delivered and I really enjoyed everything I ordered. I got a chicken and a beef dinner which came with rice and a salad. If you spend $30 they add on a side of dumplings so I also ordered a side of chana so I could get to $30. Everything was very tasty and delicious. Even the plain rice tasted good. I'd definitely order from here again!

    Tandoori Wrap $7.99

Strictly a sandwich/wraps review at this time. 3/5 for now, with room to move up or down once I get to the main entrees after dine-in resumes. I've been here a couple of times pre-Corona and for take out since. Can't say I've noticed a decline in service or poor safety protocols others have cited, but maybe that's because I've only been here late at night. To me it looked clean & well maintained - that was factor in choosing it over the Shawarma joints - as well as doing prep in a kitchen instead of a counter where somebody stands & talks over the veggies & condiments all day. I've had the Tikka Wrap & Tandoori Wrap. They're a $1 or $2 more than the typical Shawarma wrap on Lawrence E and a bit less filling due to using a Burrito style shell instead of a Pita or Naan. In the case of a late dinner I wanted less carbs so I didn't mind. It's exactly the same cost & size as Small Burrito at Fat Bastard but much better quality IMO. The meat was good quality and well cooked in both cases. The freshness & ripeness of the raw veggies was better than the typical Shawarma takeout. The sauce - Hummus with light hints of Garlic & Lemon - was pleasant if a little underwhelming. Hot Sauce is optional. Problem is the dressings are very runny so if you don't keep the wrap horizontal at all times, it drains to the back side and you don't taste it until the last two bites. It's pretty good as fast food for those who want a clean, light lunch or late night bite that's not heavy on carbs. Or the meal can be bulked up with a Naan or Lentil Soup and still be around $11. I have no real urge to have this again but I'm OK with ending up here as matter of convenience once in a while.

    Large Mantu Platter

Mantu. That's all I came here for. Gimme all of the mantu. To die for! What else can I say? Beefy, Garlicky Yoghurt, fresh cilantro, Chana Dal on top. Yum! I could eat this everyday if I could! COVID: social distanced ordering system. Although I called ahead for pickup. Masks enforced.

I'm glad I reviewed this after the transformation. It was still quaint, but the renovations have provided more comfortable seating with their booths. The menu is very extensive compared to before. Before, they had predominantly afghan dishes but now it features some Arab and Indian entrees or appetizers. The food is absolutely delicious. Plates typically come with rice, meat, salad and bread. The carbs themselves are perfectly done - Afghan rice and bread are murderous (in the best way). Kababs are seasoned well, juicy and fresh. I particularly like the chicken breast kabab and beef kabab, which is why I usually opt for the Waziri classic. If you're sharing with someone else or want more variety, the N&K grill has 3 different types of meat. If you haven't ever tried it, the lamb shank with carrots & raisins is a treat and a definite staple of afghan cuisine. Also, the mango smoothie will complete your life! I'm ashamed to say it, but I drank both my own and my friends in the same night. Please don't judge me. Not to mention, if you've got quite a few people they also have the family platters for 4-5 people. The price point is amazing. There was 4 of us who split it and there was still a lot of food left over. I'd say you could share the food comfortably among 5 or even 6 people. The family platters also come with many different dishes so you get to try a variety. Only thing that's lacking somewhat is the service. You go up to order and pick up your food, which is fine. However, I always find that I get up at least 2 times to ask for something else whether it's napkins, extra cutlery, water, etc. I hate taking breaks in between inhaling my food so it can be annoying, but nothing that turns me away.

Been to lot of Afghani restaurants over the years, but I gotta say when ever I order from this location of Naan & Kabob, food always taste great. Waziri tandoori din is my go to order. Can't go wrong with their tandoori chicken and kabobs. Aushak is also a must try appetizer.

Shish Kabob with Rice - $10.99
    Alan Y.

One of my favourite Afghan restaurants in Toronto. The place is very clean and the location is convenient as there are many buses that stop by there. The dishes are mainly Afghan but they also added some Arab dishes recently. I got the Shish Kabob with Rice ($10.99) and the Chaplee with Rice ($11.99). Both meals come with a huge piece of naan bread on the side, a small salad and some dice tomatoes. They are very generous with the amount of rice they give. The Shish Kabob comes with 2 ground beef skewers while the Chaplee comes with 2 ground beef patties. The flavours are similar except the Chaplee has a bit more spices and is spicier. I prefer the kabobs because the meat is more tender and juicy while the Chaplee patties are a bit more chewy. Both are excellent dishes so depends on what kind of texture you are looking for. Tips: - ask for one more cup of hot sauce and pour it on the rice to kick the flavours up a notch (don't worry, not too spicy) and also one more cup of Afghan white dipping sauce for the naan bread as I recommend pouring one cup over the meats. The sauces are free. - only Debit or Cash

    Mango Yogurt drink

We ordered the Half Chicken Kabob with rice. It came with lettuce salad and tossed Tomatoes salad. The rice was very fragrant and it tasted really good. The chicken in my opinion was over cooked but was seasoned well. It was a bit spicy for me only because I don't like spicy. All dishes comes with salad and bread. Their read was warm, soft, and fluffy. Another dish we ordered was their Beef Steak Kabob with Salad. The Beef was tender and was juicy. We saw that most people ordered the Trio Meat dish with rice and salad but we thought the chicken pieces were too small so we ordered the half chicken instead. We also got the Mango Yogurt drink. It was already premise with real mangoes. Although they took it from the fridge, it was a bit on the room temperature to cold side. I wish it had been colder. Their steeped tea was flavourful and I highly recommend it. All their staff were very friendly and explained every dish to us.

The Mango Smoothies were very thick and dense. They were quite good. The Bolanee was lightly grilled naan, stuffed with potatoes, green onions and herbs, and served with a side of homemade yogurt. I liked it! This was my first time having Mantu. This was like Asian dumplings since the styling and presentation were the same. These were hand-formed dumplings, filled with sautéed onions and ground beef, drizzled with seasoned yogurt, split peas and more filling. This was a good appetizer. The Tandori was good! It was boneless-skinless chicken breast skewer, marinated with rich ingredients for a juicy, tender, and spicy taste. The Tandori Half Chicken, tender marinated in original fresh tandori spices, was rather good. The Classic Chicken Breast: boneless-skinless, marinated for tenderness and succulent taste. This was tasty! It wasn't rough or dry at all. The Naan was really good too! It was simple traditional flat bread but it was freshly baked and went perfectly with the other dishes. This Firni dessert was an Afghan pudding of milk and starch flavoured with cardamon. It wasn't too sweet.

Beef dumplings with yoghurt and lentils

We went here on a Sunday afternoon, the place was half filled. It's a self service place, we ordered the rice and kebab plate and a beef dumplings with yoghurt. The dumplings with yoghurt as an appetizer was outstanding, too tasty. While the kebab were juicy and the rice was also flavorful. It isn't too expensive and neither is it cheap :) A place you wouldn't mind going again for some Afghan food.

Friday, Awesome, food is so delicious; I ordered with a brilliant woman chicken curry (kuri) was 11.50 including tax for salad, such tasty chicken and brown rice, I generally hate brown rice so not sure if this is coloured white rice or if they've mastered this either way damn good. I'm Indian so I missed my green chillies however there was no taste missing. Saturday update, if you didn't know now you do - curries always taste better the next day. NO CREDIT CARDS

    Lentil soup

It's a lovely place. A friend first brought me here 5 years and I recently visited again when I was in the area. One thing that stood out to me was that they have some of the best-tasting naan I have ever had (IMO) and it seems like they still do. I like the renovation, the place looks more vibrant and welcoming now. As for the food, I ordered a waziri tandoori and lentil soup. I received a buzzer that told me when my food will be ready. The lentil soup tasted as expected and went well with my kabob plate which I was satisfied with. I like that they have a decent amount of vegetarian options available. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend Naan x Kabob. I hope to visit the other locations when I have a chance.

This is apparently their new menu with correct prices.

I recently dined here on a Friday night. This particular location was busy where there were customers throughout my time there, however, there were no lines. Service was friendly and welcoming, where we were given ample time to look at the menu and ask any questions regarding the menu (if we had any). I decided to order the NK grill (a mix of tandoori chicken, shami (beef) kabob, and classic chicken). Each grill meal comes with a salad, rice, and naan. We also got a container of creamy garlic kabob dip to go with our meals. Our food took around 10-15 min to be made and were brought to our table once ready. The naan bread the meal came with was also warm and delicious. My NK grill meal was delicious! The Afghani rice was flavourful and savoury, a perfect carb to go with the grilled kabobs. The tandoori chicken had a slight kick but was tolerable for me. All the meats, especially the chicken was tender and not dry at all. The side salad was also refreshing as well. Overall, a delicious meal - definitely would return to get the NK grill again. I wasn't able to finish everything and also had leftovers to bring home. The Kofta is mainly minced beef with herbs and spices and is freshly grilled to perfection. I find Bamiyan's Kofta tender, juicy and not dry like the others. The same goes for their chicken breast. Mildly spiced chicken cubes are perfectly charred and absolutely delicious. The simple Afghani Rice (Chalau) has a fragrant aroma and fluffy texture. The Afghan salad which is loaded with vegetables like tomatoes and lettuce is light and refreshing and goes well with the white yoghurt sauce they provide you.
