Very solid Thai food. Ordered the spring rolls (nothing amazing, but not bad). The massaman curry (heat level 3) though was very good. Next time though I'd probably order a 4 for the heat as I thought the spice level was tame. Portion size (comes with rice) was pretty generous, though my only complaint is that I wish it had come with some more veggies. Would definitely eat here again. read more

My boyfriend and I have eaten at Ban Moon once as a couple and another time with a couple of friends. Both times the service was great and the food was excellent. The Chicken Satay is delicious as are the Spring Rolls. The Basil Fried Rice was excellent, perfectly cooked with lots of fresh ingredients. The Pad Kra Pao was also great. I tried a bit of my friends Beef Pad Thai and I think I found the next item that I will be ordering. Excellent Thai offerings at Ban Moon. I had the Drunken Noodles, fresh ingredients and very generous portions. My son had Tom Yum To Lay, which he had never tried anything even remotely like this dish. He was blown away by the flavor. This place offers a great value on some top notch food, even at an hour before closing. The only thing that could have been better was the spring roll. The roll was good but was cold. Out of the several places that I have had Lo Mein, this place has the best in San Angelo. That being said, their food is super oily and never sits well. One thing that really did upset me was when I went there with some coworkers for one of their birthday's and I had asked their waiter if they did anything special for that type of occasion. I was informed that they got to pick a special treat, which I chose fried ice cream, then come to find out that they had charged me for said "free birthday treat." Talk about rip off. read more

The yellow curry, stir fried pepper steak, and pad Thai were great. The spring rolls and Thai tea were ok, but I probably wouldn't order them again. I love a Thai food. I'm not from San Angelo. This is the only Thai restaurant in town. I ordered the Vegetable Delight with fried rice. My dish tasted more like Chinese food. The garlic sauce was too think. The rice was not like what I'm used to eating at other Thai restaurants I've been to. The quality is cheap. Prices are good. Ihad to box the other half of my food. Portions are enough for two people. I would come back to try a noodle dish. However, like I said it was of a Chinese taste more than Thai or Laotian. Service was good. Good came out fast. Good enough. Didn't think the spring rolls were much to write home about. Same thing you might get at a food court mall. Chicken pad thai was giant helping and very well priced. Wish it had crushed peanuts, cilantro, and lime served with it. Could'nt tell if there were any of those ingredients even cooked in. But tasty enough. read more

I tried this restaurant out and they have excellent customer service. My food was prepared really fast and when I arrived within 10 minutes, it was already finished. I ordered the basil fried rice, combination fried rice and the pad thai. I know authentic Thai food when I have it, but this first time at this place, the food seemed a little bland. We didn't have high hopes for the Thai food in West Texas but this place is the real deal. This is some reliable Thai food. I'm from the South Side of Chicago which is land of cheap tasty Thai and this measures up just fine. Plenty of good veggies, plenty of protein. I'm so excited to have found this place! I love their vegetarian red curry. The fresh spring rolls are a great appetizer to start with. I'm used to having them served with a peanut sauce but the hoisin sauce in the condiment caddy goes well with them, too. The pho is also great. Excellent authentic thai that I didn't expect to find here in San Angelo. The dishes could stand to be a bit spicier even with the highest heat rating but if that's my biggest complaint about this place then it doesn't really matter. Couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars. This place was not horrible, and considering it's seemingly the only Thai food in San Angelo you have no other options of you're craving Thai. The food was average at best. There's a lot about their menu choices and aspects of even the Thai dishes that say they are trying to be somewhere between Chinese and Thai. The Pad See Ew was definitely the highlight, but even that was only 4/5. Satisfied my craving but nothing special. Started with the papaya salad which was rather good and shockingly spicy, even at medium spiciness! Tasted like maybe a bit too much fish sauce. The spring rolls were fine, exactly what you would expect. Disappointed they did not have peanut sauce but instead a basic sweet and sour sauce. The most disappointing was the red curry. The curry itself was lacking flavor. We decided to order it with shrimp and there were maybe 3 pieces in it. Instead it was full of red bell pepper slices, which just don't belong in a dish like that in my opinion. They were almost the focal point of the dish. I would have gone with a weak 4 stars if it weren't for the curry. Average Thai food if you're really craving it, otherwise wait until you are in a different city. read more
