4/21/2026 friends treated my husband and I for his birthday dinner. Chang Thai opens promptly at 5pm as shown on their website for dinner. We were greeted and seated within a minute of walking in at 5pm. I'm not that familiar with this type of dining so I'm not knocking the restaurant for me not liking my dinner, it's just not my thing I guess. I'm giving 4 stars because they did not have Thai Iced Tea on hand for this evenings dinner guest, apparently the lady who makes it wasn't in today. My opinion, a Thai restaurant not having Thai Iced Tea is like a Mexican restaurant not having margaritas, a bit disappointing. We were the first dinner guest in the restaurant and our dinners were a bit of a wait (longer than usual) from order to service and that was ok as it gave us time to visit. Our drinks and appetizers were served fairly quick. Our waitress was very friendly and tried to help me decide on dinner by explaining a few options. The place was clean and inviting with ample seating and filled up quickly within the hour. I'm only picturing my dinner and I can't remember what it was. It had a strong after taste so I tried each individual piece to pinpoint what had that flavor. One of our friends said perhaps it's lemon grass but whatever it was caused me not to finish my dinner.

Went here with my husband this weekend and we ordered their seafood boil in spicy! I've been craving for a good seafood boil, and was so excited when I found out this Thai place had it on the menu! The sauce was good and the spice level was perfect! I added sausage and potatoes to my order and got it with a side of white rice! The potatoes come in medallions which is different from your typical boils which usually have the whole potato. However, my husband said he liked it better because it soaks up the sauce! Our server was friendly and the service was good! She came to check up on us pretty frequently! Can't wait to come back to try their other seafood boil which has lobster included next time I think it's called the Blackbeard!

Really liked this place Had some unique items that I liked place is small decorated clean and they always have some weird music going on (not bad just weird). Convenient and fair price not a 5 star place but definitely would recommend for lunch.

My family and I have been to Chang Thai several times and have always experienced exceptional service and cuisine. The restaurant is family owned and operated and we love that music is always playing in the background. The waiting staff is always so friendly and quick to serve. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious! On our most recent visit the owner came out to the dining area and gave my son chopsticks at his request. She began speaking to us and shared how impressed she was that my 9 year old uses chopsticks so well. She made a funny joke and we all laughed. She gave compliments to me and my children. The reason for my 5th Star is that the owner asked where my husband was (he did not join us this particular evening). I explained that he had just gotten into town from work and was feeling under the weather with an upper respiratory infection. Without skipping a beat she said, "Well wait right there...let me go get him some soup!" She came back shortly with a large container of clear soup. She had added some fresh ginger as well and she told me she hopes he feels better soon. Their clear soup-my family calls it "Liquid Gold". It's the perfect remedy when you're feeling I'll! This kind gesture made my day and meant so much to me. We will definitely be back to support this beautiful family and their restaurant!

Great place for legit Thai food of the classics. Great service and fair prices. Big portions and fast service. I want to try the more traditional plates next time also and the sushi menu they have here from time to time also. Tom the owner is a way cool guy also and his staff are super kind. I spoke to Tom a little bit on my visit and he said he has been making traditional Thai food for 20 years now and as a Thailand native, loves to share his home culture and history through food and cooking. It shows big time in their dishes!

WOW, the flavors left us speechless. Top notch service and they have the best Pad Thai I've EVER had! Drive over to East side and prepare to be blown away!

Pad Thai was a bit watery and heavy soy sauce. Did not taste like traditional pad Thai.

I got my bowl and the broth looked a little bit like it was weak and not concentrated enough...I figured maybe it's a little bit weaker flavor. I dip my little ladle spoon and take a sip....that looked like weak tonkatsu, but the flavor was something other than tonkatsu. I don't know what it was. The noodles were cooked appropriately, but the ajitama was not seasoned and it was not soft boiled, it was hard boiled. Okay, try out the meat. The meat was a little bit on the tough side and it did not have the flavor of chashu pork. I have had tonkatsu ramen at many different places through California. Even Missouri has a stellar tonkatsu ramen shop. Unfortunately this place does not leave me satisfied. I am afraid I can not give it a 3 star rating due to the fact that tonkatsu is unrecognizable as tonkatsu in relation to flavor. Was the flavor good? Not really. My recommendation would be to remove tonkatsu as an option on the menu altogether because although it looks like tonkatsu, it does not have anything in it that tastes like a tonkatsu ramen. The 2 stars is for decent noodles and I didn't get sick off the food.

I say cars & trucks because this is West Texas, and just about everyone has a truck, except us. We did, and we still should, but that's another story, and I want to keep this review short like my others. Went inside and were told to sit anywhere you want. I guess they really didn't mean that because I sat in the Kitchen, and they kind of frowned. (hehe) That's when we grabbed a booth. Our Server, Norma, came over and took our drink order. Coffee with creamer for me and a glass of water with lemon for Nancy. We looked over the menu as if we didn't know what we wanted, but we did. When Norma returned with our drinks, we placed our order. My Wife is going with her standard, "Two-Egg Cheese Omelet, with Hash Browns and Wheat Bread. I am going with the same thing but having their Biscuits instead. While we waited for our food, I enjoyed some goooood Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer. Kozy Kitchen makes good coffee, not the weak kind you get at some other restaurants. Soon our Cheese Omelets arrived, and they looked delicious. The Hash Browns are prepared just the way we like'em, golden brown on the outer and potato-eee on the inner. The Two Cheese Omelet is also prepared perfectly with lots of Cheese. My Wife's Wheat Bread is toasted with a nice amount of melty butter on it. My Biscuits look different than what they served before. My Wife said they look more like Muffins. I spread lots of butter on one and took my first bite. They are, in fact, "Biscuits", nice-n-flaky inside with a golden-brown outer edge. The top, one could say, looks like a Muffin, but it does taste like a Biscuit. Also added some Strawberry Jam to the Biscuits. I drizzled some Cholula Hot Sauce on top of my Cheese Omelet, which brings out the flavor of tasty heat. That's some mighty good stuff. We both enjoyed our Cheese Omelets, and I ate all of mine and finished up my Wife's Hash Browns, with some added Cholula Hot Sauce. Our Server, Norma, earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She showed us the other one she has that I gave her before. Kozy Kitchen is one of the Best Breakfast places in San Angelo, and we Love coming here. They have more than just breakfast, and it's all good. (maybe next time they will let me sit in the kitchen) On the way home, we enjoyed another Beautiful (but getting hot) day in San Angelo, TX.
