Last time I reviewed was 5 stars but after being passed off to another specialist after cutting me once, and then the next person cut me three more times and my full set is so uneven I give up. And 60 dollars later with no apologies. After 15 years of going here. Never again. I got a full set withone color and not the color i chose as they ran out of it. last time it was $50 and a few months later 60. I had my hair cut by Alex the day before and I wish I had a before and after, but he cut off all of my dead/fried hair-about 6 inches! I know it had to be done, but I avoided hair cuts for a while. To be honest, I didn't stomach the short hair very well, but after two days of playing with it and styling it, it actually looked pretty good. I went to Alex wanting a mushroom brown balayage color and showed him a picture. The best lighting I could get was in my car! AMAZING! Linda was such a sweet lady, that I immediately trusted her with my hair. We didn't speak much but she understood me and could tell how terrified I was of losing even an inch off my hair but due to bleaching my hair it desperately needed a cut. She told me "don't worry" and I did just that. I sat back and just told myself it will grow back. At the end of the cut for the first time in almost two years I didn't hate the hair stylist! She cut my hair so nicely and layered it so well I wanted to hug her before I left! Good value, yes. Get what you pay for, also yes IMO. If you know exactly what you want and how to ask for it, you may have a better experience. I have long wavy/curly hair and I came in after a long pandemic hiatus to cut off dead ends and for shaping in my layers. We agreed on taking off up to 3 inches as needed total and the stylist just took the 3 and then went to work on layering which ended up much shorter than agreed. I asked for layers to make it lay better and shape my face but I got a pretty blunt cut that didn't account for my texture. Not a bad cut but not good either. Styled it straight without asking even though I came in with my natural texture. I don't style it straight but once she started in with the brush and dryer I wasn't bold enough to ask it be styled how I actually wear it. read more

Came here last minute on a Tuesday morning. I was actually going to go try another salon close by but they had not opened yet, I AM VERY GLAD THEY WERE NOT because I would not have met one of the sweetest hair stylist. I called for a wash and a cut and they told me to come in, once I got there I was taken care of right away which I absolutely appreciate because I was very pressed on time today. I was paired up with a stylist her name is LIDA. She brought me in to wash my hair and I almost melted in my seat because it was so good. I noticed that they also had waxing stations so I asked for an eyebrow and lip wax as well. She did that while letting the conditioner settle into my hair. She did a combination of waxing and threading and my eyebrows came out great. I told her about a terrible haircut experience I once had before and she can tell I was antsy about trying a new place. She was very careful and checked with me before she cut anything. I just wanted a trim and she went with it and left my hair long like I wanted. She also gave me some tips for at home care that I could do to improve my hair. She also didn't make me feel bad about having such long hair. Most places I go to, they see the length of my hair and automatically I see an attitude change. With Lida, she assured me that it was no problem and actually gave me words of encouragement and made me feel more confident about my long hair! There's absolutely no price tag on how you can make a person feel. Thank you, Lida. She finished and when we checked out I was shocked by the pricing. Eyebrows, lips, wash, cut and blow dry for only $28? You can't beat that! I currently live down the street from this salon and am preparing to move but I will still be a regular at this salon. Went in for a balayage a couple of days ago. The hair stylist Alex, who does all the balayage, completely f up my hair. i didn't realize till i got home and got a better look that my "balayage" were just poorly done highlights. He was pretty clumsy and i got the impression he didn't know what he was doing but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. My highlights he did look so bad. Firstly, this review is not fully in regard to the salon itself but specifically in regard to the "stylist" named Alex. To be charged $366 for the job that was done and not what I wanted is the most absurd thing I have ever had to deal with at a hair salon. I have always gone to Bana when it came to getting just a basic trim and blow dry and have been satisfied especially for the price. However this time around had truly convinced me to never return to this place again! My first couple of encounters with Alex was pleasant and professional. I had initially went there for a cut due to another hair stylist messing up my long layers and left everything uneven. I ended up getting it cut up to my shoulders even though I was trying to see if it could be salvaged in anyway however he stated that was nothing that could be done. Fine. The following time I went in it was for a basic trim and blow dry. Throughout this time he kept insisting he do color on me and that he was boasting how he does a good job on balayage. I said I would think about it even though my blowout was less than mediocre and frizzy when I got off the chair. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt anyway. But after receiving what I thought would be a balayage was the last straw. I decided to go with him and days before my appointment I had sent him pictures of what I wanted to show him specific examples of what I was wanting to do which was an ashy blonde/bronde. Well I was highly dissatisfied with what came out. My hair was already blonde from the last time I had it done and what I wanted was a touch up and an ashier look. Not only did I not get the color I wanted nor did I get the cut, Alex had me in the chair for 6 HOURS. I have never had to sit in a chair for 6 damn hours. I literally didn't leave the salon till almost midnight to then see that my hair was dyed back to brunette. At this point, I was super exhausted from a long day of work and having to work early the next day. As soon as he was done with my hair I let him know right off the bat that the hair was much darker than expected. He kept claiming that it was "the lighting" in the salon when it was in fact the job he did. Not only that, the blow dry was once again not a very good blowout as the back of my head was still damp. When it came time to pay I was in shock for him to tell me it would be $366!! Wtf?! I could not understand for what especially since it was nothing close to what I wanted. Neither the cut or color. He stated he had to correct the color and give me babylights and would comp the haircut and blow dry. Really??? Then why in the world was it still $366? You would think he would state that BEFORE things got started. Not only that, he did not once consult me about the the pricing beforehand. As i was assuming Ibwas getting a balayage. And apparently he did a deep conditioning treatment on my hair that lasted but 2 min. Needless to say I woke up the next morning upset that it was not what I wanted and messaged him letting him know my honest opinion. All throughout the conversation he kept claiming that I needed to calm down and that I was being "passive agressive" and "rife" in my messages. HUH?? At this point I wanted a refund in which he was only wanting to give me back $85 or at most $100 for toners. UM no. This dude colored my hair back to brunette, had me on a chair for 6 hours which was ridiculous especially for the length of my hair, and when I got home there dark dye on my face and forehead and my left ear has not stopping itching since because he put bleach on it. I have since had to dispute the charge for some of it with my bank and he has since blocked me since I was being so "aggressive" LOL. I've never dealt with someone more passive aggressive and condescending because throughout the entire conversation he kept stating this and I was not responding to it as it wasn't anything personal but a service where it was not done up to par. Needless to say, this job was not anywhere near worth what I got charge especially by a stylist who is not very established and will now go to someone that actually knows what they are doing and give me what I want. read more

Horrible experience! From the moment I called to reschedule my appointment and got a rude response...I should have known how this was going to go. I don't expect to be cheerfully greeted but first impressions are the most important. I had made an appointment for a hair coloring. I was having my wedding anniversary dinner that day and my usual hair salon was not available so being new to the neighborhood, I took a chance on a new place. Most of the reviews I saw online were good and the online scheduling made it convenient. During my "consultation" I was told they "didn't have enough time to properly color my hair." I was told that getting my roots touched up and getting my hair dyed to be a consistent color was an impossible task. I honestly should have walked out during this conversation but having my important date I had to figure out something. I wasn't asked what I wanted but instead told what was going to be done. I was also judge for the current state of hair and was asked "you got your hair colored at a salon before? You didn't do this yourself?" I just had a baby 2 months so getting out or even taking the time to get a hair cut has been difficult. To make matters worst, I was asked to comb my own hair before the color started. WTF?! I've never gotten hair services where I'm paying to do my own hair. The person that did my actual hair coloring and cut was really nice but by then the damage was done. I was charged almost $100 for an inch of hair color and a quick trim. F*cking rip off for the horrible experience!!! I've gotten better service elsewhere for a lot less. I feel torn about this review. I really like Linda and Bana's salón but i went in for ash brown hair and left with dark/ brown or black hair! I paid for something and left disappointed. I told her it's too dark and she said it wasn't. All the family members that saw me asked why I dyed my hair black. It's so disappointing. Sadly I got the worst haircut of the year here. I had been growing my hair out for over a year now and have been getting trims to maintain the length. I originally came in for a blow dry for an event, but got talked into getting a trim and my hair curled. Both were a terrible decision on my behalf. My hair was Chopped and the curls were too tight for my thick hair that it look like I had a curly Bob. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. I have reviewed Bana's before, and am in need of an update! Two years later and I'm still loyal. I first was attracted to Bana's location (five minutes from home) and prices. What keeps me coming back is the service and quality! I've been getting my haircut by Ayman and I can't imagine going to anyone else! I even got my mom hooked on him! Every time I go in there, he tells me how to take care of my damaged hair so that one day it can grow long and healthy. I keep bugging him to let me go back to blonde but he is honest with me about the quality of my hair and tells me only if I take care of it. He's a blast to talk to and will tell you how it is. He always asks me to cut my hair super short (and I CRINGE) but he listens and will only do what you tell him to do. He is great with that! Other stylists may not listen to what you want or chop off too much but he always does a great job and executes exactly what I ask for. I had Lola before also who is great as well :) Another plus: I can get in the day I want to and not have to wait weeks for an appointment! They have enough stylists and try to accommodate you as best they can. The salon is fantastic and for the price it cannot be beat! I don't want to give up Ayman as a secret weapon but he deserves all the good reviews he can get. I'm 2 hours away for school and I still come back to him! read more

Good place for cheap prices. I've been getting my eyebrows done here for quite some time for $5. I was impressed with the fact that they actually spend time on your eyebrows and don't just whizz through the process like some places. Some women are better at eyebrow waxing than others, it's just a matter of finding your favorite waxer. The do haircuts for the whole family and waxing of all kinds, manicures, pedicures, etc!!. Great little neighborhood salon! They offer a wide range of services, including salt water float tanks! It is clean and well-managed. PARKING: Free street parking, and I haven't had an issue parking thus far. HAIR: I haven't had a bad hair cut yet! I usually go to see Hope. She is always pleasant, easy to talk to, and have never disappointed. VALUE: I usually spend around $15 for the cut! Pretty reasonable for a quality haircut! FYI: If I remember correctly, they don't take plastic if the total is under $15 or $20. If you are considering paying with a credit or debit card, I would double check about their policy. APPOINTMENTS: Although they do walk-ins, you may be better off calling ahead. RATING: As always, when using the rating scale, I compare apples to apples not apples to oranges. Silly me. I have been coming here for years and years. At least 3. The one reason I come here is because of Albana. She is the only one I will let touch my eyebrows. (As you can see from my profile picture, I have thick jet black hair). I went to a place before I found Albana and specifically said clean up only. I like to maintain my arch. WOW!!! TEN DOLLARS MEN HAIRCUTS, yes $10 I've been coming here since this place first opened, before it was remodeled and it was just chairs and Bana. The picture says its $6.99 for men but its $10 now, which is still cheap considering most places it's $15 (besides Betty's and Nick's). Now there are many ladies there, and one guy (he's not that good Do Not go to him, he will FAIL you), I feel that are all the lady's can get the job done to a satisfactory level. But if you want PERFECTION and have time I think Bana still does thee BEST FADE. Next in line would be and an asian lady Jackie, would be the quickest and tightest fade, Mohawk, Blow Out, FoHawk, FloHawk, what ever you need or just wanna try out something new she can get it done.
