You come feeling that you had to please them instead of them taking care of you. Besides the owner Jackie, no one seems or very limited few are able to communicate to you in English. That's fine until some of them can't understand even nonverbals. My man went with his son and told me it's unlikely for him to return. He was given a less experience stylist that could do longer men haircut. The more experience guy was assigned to my son due to his desired haircut length. (My son said he was happy with his experience) How would this be known? The owner said so.. Yet it was not a walk-in but a scheduled appointment. Probably best if the owner don't make the appointment if she doesn't have the staff to do it. Needless to say -- my man was not happy because the stylist couldn't understand what he wants and after a little snipping.. he was fine to leave since over-correction/too short of a haircut was his fear. It was suppose to be a basic business haircut.. I had to "fix" his haircut when he came home and I'm not a train stylist. However, I can see that the cut was uneven and choppy without a nice gradual blend. The 2 stars is because my son like his haircut. I had been there as well with a haircut and I'm not impressed with the experience. I had Jackie, she was good but I felt the experience is she sets the "it's good and you are done." and not "how do you feel about your haircut?". I was rushed to end the session. I want to rate this place higher as it is a convenient location for me -- although parking is limited street parking. Many time I have to drive around more than once to get a parking space. I desperately needed a haircut. As you all might already know l, it's hard to find time to get a decent haircut when you're a busy working mother. My son goes to karate next door and I took this as an opportunity for some "Me time". I always see them cutting hair through the window and the finished hair looks great! So I walked in to see if they could take me and to my surprise, they did! I framed my face and took a few inches off. Loved it! Everyone is so friendly and the shop itself is very clean. Called this place just to see if they can accept walkins and if they can accept a senior citizen; I was very pleased that they did, given that there's pandemic. So I took my mom here. They TOOK CARE of her! Wow! Mom looked few years young after her haircut (mind you, she's low maintenance). I am pleased of the fact that they were very accommodating and friendly to me and my mom. Kudos to Jackie and staff. We will be regulars. The place is very clean. Staff knows what they do and I can tell they take pride of what they do. Don't waste your time at this crappy salon. The owner and her team are so unprofessional. I walked in with no appointment, she said "it'll be 30 mins" as there were people in front of me. Fine. I'm next in line and someone comes in, no appointment, and gets seated right away. Then when that guy is finished, she says "ok I'll take you now", sits me in the chair, and tells me I have to get up because her "appointment" came in. Worst service ever, I was unimpressed walking in but desperate for a haircut, so I thought I'd give them a chance. I get that there are appointments, but if you are not going to give me a cut when the next person is free then don't say you will. Unprofessional. Went in with my girlfriend and we both wanted just a 2-3 inch trim and evening out. Hairstylist "consultation" lasted all of 3-4 words and she starts cutting. Of course both of us walk out with way more cut off than requested. There was noone else in the salon, and a slow part of the day but the stylist chose to rush it anyways: I was in and out of the chair in about 12 minutes; my GF only was in longer because they hacked off more of her hair unwantedly. Most hair cut places would cut less at first and then check in with you before going farther but not here, its just cut, cut and gone. My advice would be to be more cautious when taking off so much of a customer's hair, knowing that it will take months for her hair to grow back what you took away. Absolutely careless. The stylists here just kind of do whatever they want, not what you request. If you want to roll the dice, and that's fine with you, go for it but there are plenty of better salons on the NW side. It's a shame because they could have a decent salon if they just had better customer service. We will not be returning. read more

I just came from getting a mani and pedi from Alice. She is literally the best nail tech I have ever had & I've been getting my nails done since my sophomore year in high school. She takes her sweet time, clipping, exfoliating, and especially messaging. A rarity now because salons are more considered with quantity instead of quality. She notice my ingrown toe nail and tried to sooth it by clipping dead skin away. Then when she did my nails, she recommended the color on my nails in my picture! Instead of the black I originally wanted. And she even did some design which I loved and didn't even charge me extra for. (I had a gift certificate!) I was optimistic that they would understand my needs for my Asian hair hence why I tried this place in the first place. I asked for 3 inches max to be cut off and got more like 5 inches. I'm unhappy with how much was taken off. They did listen in making my thick air a bit lighter and asked about layers which I agreed. I am just okay with my hair, but not happy at the overall length. Would not return especially after reading other reviews and understanding they may take off more hair that you wish so it appears that may be a reoccurring issue. There was also some language barrier (my stylist had to confirm with the the owner about what I was asking for) as well so I wish more was discussed in further detail before cutting started. read more

I just asked for a long layered cut and was very specific with Jackie (Mongolian name Taegi- not hard to say, folks), about things I'm looking for. For instance, asked to not use razor but instead shears. She made sure each side was equal, which I loved. I absolutely love this place. I went in with box dyed black/dark brown/reddish hair which was uneven in color all over and Jackie bleached it and got it to the red I wanted in one session. Wow I knew I was getting a cheap haircut but I've gotten better at a supercuts. I'm not sure if I was getting the "white girl" treatment from a salon full of only Asian women but here's the whole experience: I don't know my stylists name. She doesn't introduce herself. I sit in the chair and try to explain the very simple haircut I want and even though she has broken English I feel like we're on the same page. To my surprise, she throws the apron on me and starts cutting! No wash. No water. No products. It's fall and my fine hair is getting static-y but the stylist keeps going. At this point I feel like it's too late to say something. (And for the record - their website says haircuts include wash) The whole appointment is about 20 minutes. At the end she takes a water bottle and sprays the ends of my hair and then blow dries them for about 10 seconds and voila! Done. She asks me if it's ok and I mumble it's fine before practically running out of this place and swearing never to go to a one $ place again. In the end I realize the only "product" that touched my hair was water and my hair ends up frizzy and choppy. Long story short ladies, it's not worth it. read more

The services here are just as top quality, only at a tenth of the price. Lisa gave me an outstanding shampoo, razor cut, and blow out. Alice did a great job on my mani/pedi. Run, don't walk, to this place. It's clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and staffed by knowledgeable professionals. My only criticism is that they need to remove the plastic off the back of the pedicure chairs. That was a little sweaty, due to summer weather. If they want to protect the fabric, I suggest a towel, slip cover, or spraying Scotch Guard on them. read more

Even though I did not have an appointment, they were able to fit me in. The color turned out great. I came in with dark brown hair and they were able to get it to the color I wanted!
