It's not the fanciest salon I've ever been in (it could use updating), but my stars she does great work! I had a gel manicure and 2 weeks later, it looks new. My pedicures seem to last forever, too. Illinois Nails is the best nail salon. I used to live in the loop and I never liked any nail salons over there since they were always so busy and always rushed me. This place is totally different. They pay attention to what I like and listen to me. Their customer service is excellent and the place is clean. All workers wear face mask and gloves, which is really nice. There are dividers between customers and staff at the manicure stations. You're seated apart at the pedicure stations. I got a no chip manicure and she did an excellent job. I am planning to go again for both manicure and pedicure. I felt so relaxed since there was only me and another lady there. The price is reasonable and worth it for the service. I love this nail salon; they don't rush you and the ladies value their craft and clients. You can book them in advance or walk-in, but they will dedicate the time to properly give you the beautiful nails that is worth the time and money you see investing. They were AWESOME!!. My husband needed a pedicure for his ingrown toenail (Which I WOULD not touch). He was having pain and trouble walking. He never had one done before and was kinda embarrassed being a man and getting a pedicure :). He was put at ease by the girl saying a lot of men had it done. He loved the massage chairs. But, The highlight for me is I have psoriasis and it's in my nails also. They have not had a lot of experience with this but they did an awesome job on my nails.. My toes are the worse and they shaved them down and clipped them. Didn't hurt at all!! When I do my own toenails I always wind up hurting myself!! I switched to this nail salon thinking that they were going to have better quality and better designs, but that was NOT the case. Very unorganized and dirty place. The owner, Amy, who tries so hard to be respectful, is always on her phone and was quite rude during my last experience here. My friend who went with me had most of her nails FALL OFF 2 days after she had got a new full set (which they charged us more than they advertised) One of the colors I had picked was empty, so when I went to go find a different color the owner snapped at me telling me to sit down and that she will do it. I did not tip because I was charged extra, my nails weren't up to my standards and I was disrespected. I honestly tried so hard to like this place, but with every visit, things just got worse and worse. read more

This place is cluttered and felt disorganized. I did not get the spa feeling that I would have preferred. Their prices are the same as other salons in the area that have better atmospheres. When I first arrived I was the only customer, but as time went on it got a little busier with what seemed like "regulars". The nail technicians were very nice. My No Chip manicure chipped within 5 days. I have received No Chip manicures from different salons in the past. Illinois Nails did not have me place my hand under the LED Lamp for nearly as long as the other salons. The lack of time they had me put my nails in the LED Lamp May have had to do with the number of customers that were arriving; they may have been in a rush to finish my nails. read more

I am new in the area and was looking for a nail salon. This place had great reviews so I thought to try. Amy, was great and very kind on the phone and in person. The pedicure Amy did was great and is still going strong after 2 weeks. I also did a no-chip manicure...and I am totally disappointed! The girl who did it, obviously did it too fast! The manicure started chipping away and coming off ONLY after 2 days !! Very disappointed since I always have gotten no-chip manicures before and they usually last at least 1 week. I've been going here for years. Usually it's a no chip mani but the occasional pedi or acrylic nails for special occasions. I'm terrible at making appointments so I usually walk in or make appointments for the same afternoon, and they're always accommodating. It is a small shop, so sometimes there's a wait to get to the appointments and walk-ins, but it's worth it, especially to get to support local business. Over the last few years, only maybe a handful of times was something not quite right, but it was sorted it out right away. ( I didn't like the color after the seeing it on the first nail, nails weren't filed quite like I like at first, I even messed up a nail mid way) They're happy to make it right read more

I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. I just moved to the area 3 months ago and moving is such a hassle plus it was winter aka socks and boots weather I hadn't given my nails or feet much thought until today when I realized spring weather is coming. Sandals. Eeek. Did a search and found them and the great reviews which I think have to be fake. They just have to be. First, this place was filthy. They do a surface clean. Ie clean floors maybe wipe down bigger visible spots but everything else? Gross. The tray tables for putting down your drink/belongings? FILTHY. I had a coffee cup and putting it down on that tray gave me hives. I had to ask for wipes to wipe it down myself and the wipe came back up brown. So that's was great. I took the liberty of wiping down my own chair as well just to be safe. I did not trust at all the disinfection of the tools they did not look like they were sterilized between uses. She showed me some sterilizer thing but idk man. The whole tool set just looked shoddy. I was already pretty grossed out by the tray tables so maybe I was just suspicious of everything at this point. But tray tables that dirty are a pretty big thing to miss. The guest chairs have seen better days. And they have these two kids floor mats under the nail color shelf which are also definitely not cleaned at all. I just ....will not be going back. The lady herself was nice. She did an okay job for a regular pedicure. A little heavy handed but my feet were disgusting so I don't blame her for that AT ALL. The chair massage was the best part. read more

Would go again. Walked in without an appointment to get my nails dipped (not acrylic) and they were a little short staffed. I waited and read a magazine for about 15-20 minutes before we were able to get started. I'm really particular about my nails, so I was a little hesitant at first. But! They turned out perfect! First trip to Illinois Nails, and it was just fine. I'd give it a 2.5 if I could. Nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible. Not a high quality selection of polishes, but I found a pretty Essie lilac for my toes. Went on a Saturday at 4, waited a half hour because there were only 3 women working (On a Saturday!?!) Got a decent pedicure, but while drying toes realized that one was smudged and one had a dried chunk of top-coat in it. Amy, who was in charge, fixed both upon my request (along with a few others she clearly didn't approve of!) If I came back it would only be for her. read more

I really wanted to give this place more stars. The service was amazing. Such lovely ladies. The work of my bails was really nice. They even found just the color I wanted. Butttt this is my second time there and both times my no chip barley lasted a week. It's literally peeling off of my nails in odd places and just coming off in chunks. I'm a stay at home mom with a 2 year old. I'm sure if I went in they would fix it but im short on time and people to watch my child so i need a no chip to last 2 weeks at least. I went in for a manicure and was beyond disappointed for multiple reasons. First my manicure chipped within less than 24hrs (mind you my job is not an intensive job) and to top it off while my nails were drying in front of the fan the nail tech who was working on my nails decided to clip his finger nails which were flying everywhere. Went because a friend recommended it, and I saw that it had raving reviews. Unfortunately I proceeded to get the WORST MANICURE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED in my entire life. I got a no chip manicure so it is supposed to last about two weeks so it needs to be done well. On multiple occasions I had to have the manicurist go back and refile my nail because they had filed it at a COMPLETE angle. I can't believe they were just going to not even bother to make sure that they filed them straight. Because of this my nails turned out to be much shorter than I would like. And after I left I realized that a couple nails still aren't really straight. They didn't really push back my cuticles and you can still see my nail bed. If you can see my nail bed right away, imagine what it will be like in a few days! I paid good money for a manicure that is supposed to last for two weeks and now it is going to outgrow faster. Now for the worst part.... MY NO CHIP MANICURE CHIPPED AFTER A DAY, not just one... 3 NAILS!!! Needless to say it was a complete waste of money and it was a completely horrendous experience. I will definitely not be going back and will be spreading the word about how it is not worth it. read more

I used a groupon at this place for a manicure and pedicure with parrafin. The leg massage was non-existent and to get the paraffin, I had to wait a while after the manicure- pedicure was done. The paraffin didn't seem like a sanitary procedure as I had to stick my hands and feet into the hearing element/one pot they had to heat the mixture. If you're looking for a cheaper mani-pedi,come here but don't expect great service. read more

I never write reviews. That being said, I have to say that I had a great experience at this nail salon. Amy is super sweet and it's constantly making sure everything is going well. I particularly want to point out what happened to me today as a great example of excellent customer service. I got the no chip mani and pedi and the color I selected for the many kept getting wrinkled after exposed to the UV lamp. So I had to choose another color and they had to start all over again. She apologized so many times for keeping me there longer than expected and when I paid she gave me a discount for my next visit. I understand this things happen and I always go to get my mani and pedi with time because thats my "me" time. However the way she handled it makes me want to come back because they cared enough as to make it better when it wasn't even their fault. It's a chemical and like everything else, it can go bad. The nail job is impecable and im pretty sure they will last a long 3 weeks! Loved the place, the attention and the commodity. Mornings are easy and the place is less crowded!!
