Unfortunately, the person we were working with there just was really uninterested in helping us. He had said to just go online to look at the options and packages. It was like pulling teeth even just to get him to show us the shoe options next to the suit color tones. We felt like we were being rushed out and like a nuisance, maybe because you formalize the order online? But it's so hard to gauge colors on the internet and important to see swatches. We were really disappointed in the experience. The next week, my husband went to the Reston location to try for a better experience, which is just what he got. He said that location was SO helpful and much more attentive. Wouldn't recommend Fair Lakes for wedding suit rentals, but would recommend the Reston location!

I came…read moreto the store because a good friend (who lived in Fairfax) past away and I acquired his last suit that he purchased at William T. Clothiers, and I wanted to get it altered for me in his memory. While I was there I decided to get 4 customs shirts made, as my last tailor retired recently. The shirt measurement process was strange from the get go, the owner/tailor Todd put 2 sample shirts in the dressing room. He stated 1 was for tighter fit, and 1 was for a looser fit. But didn't tell which one was which, so I put on the closest one to me. Todd then started asking me about how I wanted the length/width and such and started to measure me. Then we started to go over shirt patterns and fabrics, and I started to pick out patterns/fabrics/cuffs/collars pretty standard stuff. BTW, once this process started I never did try on the other sample shirts and he never mentioned for me to do so. After all the measuring was finished the pricing came, and OMG it was crazy expensive! The 4 shirts came to an average of $323.75 each, wow. All of my suits, jackets, dress pants, and dress shirts in the last 20 years have been custom tailored as I am an oddly shaped person. I know custom clothing is expensive, but the most I've ever paid for a shirt was about $200, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the shirts as I need a closet refresh. After a few days I got a message that 2 of the shirt designs were not available, so I had to basically let Todd pick the new colors/designs. About 4ish weeks later my shirts were ready for pickup, I was excited to see how the expensive shirts looked. When I tried on the 4 shirts, they were so tight that I was really taken aback. It was like his tape measure or eyesight was not working properly, they were so ill fitting. So all 4 shirts had to be completely reorder, and low and behold another color/design was not available again. That makes 3 of the 4 colors/designs picked out ended up unavailable. Well I picked up the 4 shirts yesterday, 5 months after my original order/measurement. Another bothersome thing with this tailor/Todd is that I ended up in that shop approximately 8 times, and Todd was only there 2 times. He as some nice whiskey displayed in the shop, never did he offer any to me. He knew how upset I was, and didn't even have the decency to be present when I finally pick up my shirts yesterday. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this tailor, there are so many tailors to choose from in the DC area to deal with this tailors crazy high prices, and awful customer service. The shirts are good quality, but this quality can be had for half the price.

The first pair I ever bought were in Prague, CZ because I didn't pack enough socks for my 10 day European extravaganza. We must take care of our feet cause we only get one pair. My apologies for forgetting the young man's name, who worked hard, to prove that last pair of shoes was in the shop! That was really good service. The problem with Vans shoes, is that they don't last long. Their prices have gone up significantly. If quality showed, I'd be sort of okay with that. Yet their shoes even without extensive effort, can be worn out rather quickly. Are they the worst shoes? Not at all, plus some of them are stylish. It's an opinion, but there are better brands to choose from.

This is a new JCrew that just opened I think a week ago…read more Funny story: I walk into the store and see a plethora of spring colors (makes me happy doopdoopdoop), and I pick up a spring straw hat that I was interested in for my upcoming vacations...trying it on in one of the full length mirrors...and note: even though I have been walking around for a good 5 minutes now, not a single person has acknowledged me yet or even said hi. I'm trying on the hat..and this asian girl walks past the mirror and smiles at me, I politely smile back and IMMEDIATELY turn around! It's my girlfriend and she works there. Funny thing is, she still hadn't recognized me because of my 10 inches shorter hairstyle and with the straw hat on! She just started when the store opened and she's the store's only personal shopper! What a small world! She was working with a bunch of customers and picking out cute items. The store is already slightly starting to get messy though and I can't say this is one of my favorite Jcrew stores yet, but I'll give them some time to get their stuff together :) definitely going back to visit my friend though! Her name's Tiffany, call her if you need a personal shopper!
