This use to be a high quality shop filled with a great items and a very personable team. I went in today, and there were FOUR employees on the floor-none of them paid attention to me but instead loudly talked to each other while standing behind the cash register. (I was in the store 20minutes!) They were the most unwelcoming group of people I have ever encountered at SMU. The selection in store and the layout of the garments were not in par with their price range. Save yourself a trip and go to the Mosaic location or a different store all together. Walked into this cute shop to find something to buy on a Saturday night out! Walked in to a group of 3 girls gossiping behind the counter, didn't welcome me to store or even acknowledge me. They had a lot of cute jewelry and a few sweaters that caught my eye but the vibes in the store were terrible. The prices aren't cheap and I would've loved to left with a bag of something but I would like to support business where the service is half way decent. If I was the owner of this store in such a prime location I would hire some girls that are friendly, outgoing with great attitudes. I even walked by and said "hello how are you girls doing?" They didn't know how to respond.. they all started giggling and gossiping again. Manager, owner? If you have cameras in the store check out your employees Friday evening! Clean up your staff if your numbers aren't adding up. Lots of customers walked in and out empty handed.. I can guarantee you it's because of your staff. Absolutely no help. I love visiting this brand store because I find their offerings to be lovely and chic. I have gotten plenty of little handbags, outfits, and even Swell bottles here in the past. Removing one star because of customer service; last two visits there were more than two associates working and I passed them all multiple times and was never greeted or offered assistance, both while I was clearly searching for something specific. This made me feel undervalued, resulting in me not making a purchase and giving my business elsewhere. read more

Came here during the "tax free weekend" 8/6/16 Super friendly employees today. Even more than usual. Maya and Allie were super sweet in assisting in outfits and the dressing room. This store has beautiful on-trend (but so classy), and everything I bought was on sale except a few pieces. I got some amazing things for my honeymoon in October. Check it out, ladies!! read more

I LOVE this South Moon Under! The staff is so welcoming, cheerful and helpful! I love this store because not only to the sell high end lines such as marc by marc jacobs, ella moss, velvet, frye ect. but they also sell and feature new designers. They always have great sales going on so you can snag a pair of JOE jeans or Hundsons for 80-110 dollars. They also sell mens ( great selection at this store). I have been to quite a few South moon unders in the NOVA/ MD area and this one is by far the best! read more

Super cute. This location is much better than the one in Reston. It is part Anthropologie, and part designer. There's definitely more of a boho-chic theme going, but you can also find J-Brand jeans, House of Harlow, Frye, Voluspa candles and Hanky Panky undies here. Prices are pretty reasonable. read more

I love the brands SMU carries and the girls that work here are really nice as well. I bought a bracelet probably 4-5 months ago and unfortunately it broke in half :( I didn't have the receipt but I figured I might as well come in and ask what can be done (ideally, I wanted a replacement or store credit). The sales associate that took care of me said it was not a problem at all to order a replacement since they didn't have it in the store. I was afraid they would not be able to do anything because of the no receipt/proof of purchase situation but it actually arrived at my more 2 days later, free shipping as well! I've always loved this store but this situation makes me love it even more, thanks for being so generous! read more

Love this place!! It has a good mix of all brands of clothing. Also the sales girls are awesome and sweet. I usually do my clothes shopping at Bloomies but South Moon has such a range of selection of my fave brands. This place is my new place to go now. read more

I went to SMU today and it was a very unpleasant experience. Not one person greeted me upon entering the store until I was getting ready to leave. And the person who actually greeted me sounded like it was such a chore to do so....as if to say, "I really don't want to do this, but I know I have to so..." I felt totally ignored and like my business was unwanted. The clothes are cute, but the lack of customer service/frinedliness makes me not want to go back. read more

I lived dangerously close to this store while going to college. Good for me. Back for my bank account. The store always had a good variety of clothes. Initially, one would think that it was very boho chic but a lot of that has to do with the way the store styles its clothes. It would be very easy to find great pieces here if you're not into the boho style. I personally tend to veer more towards that style so I think it's great. One thing that really stands out to me is the way they organize the store. It's not just all shirts in one area, pants in another, etc. You can tell that the layout and placement of the product is really thought out and made to help the customer's shopping experience more enjoyable and easier. It makes finding a fabulous outfit very simple and fun. The reason I knocked it down a star is because a majority of times I was in the store I felt like the sales associates could be quite pushy with buying more than you want (particularly with adding accessories to your outfit while trying things on in the dressing rooms.) Other than that, this store is a great all around choice in my opinion and is in a great location making it easy to predinner shop with girls while waiting for your table. The one thing I wish they would do is extend their hours so people who are walking around after dinner could enjoy the store as well. read more

This is the best location of South Moon Under I've been yet. It's spacious with lots of selection. I just bought 3 shopping bags chock a block full of stuff. I haven't been shopping for myself in a while, so after I was told about another boutique in the same mall, I went all over. I was really disappointed in the other shop, but SMU made my trip worthwhile! The service was wonderful. I went into the dressing room, and the young woman, who was very hip herself, kept bringing me wonderful item after another. I have a big chest, and sometimes have fit issues on top. She got that and brought me a bunch of tops that really flattered my figure nicely. I'd given myself a budget of $300, and walked out with double that amount. Thanks for a great experience and a wonderful big new shot to my summer wardrobe! read more

It's all sunshine and rainbows like teenagers skipping through a field in a tampon commercial, until something goes wrong. I had a issue at this location, and was told the wrong information by a sales associate, which in the end is costing me money. Long story short, I was told to contact the customer service number to get my problem rectified, which I did via email and got no response. I have since called today to get some sort of conclusion, and surprise.. the person I need to talk to is out of the office and will get back to me in a few days. I feel a run around coming on. Their customer service doesn't seem to be very responsive, and I feel the employees at the stores need more training to prevent issues from reoccurring in the future. The manager at the store was very nice when telling me she could not help me at all, even though it was their mistake, there was absolutely nothing they could do for me. There just seems to be an overall lack of concern for my particular situation, not sure if others have experienced this too, but I'm done shopping here. read more
