I went to return an item at Mclean Tysons corner that I had ordered online. Service was extremely TERRIBLE. I waited patiently while an associate was helping a customer with her returns. They chatted for about 20 minutes , she clearly saw me waiting in line and when she was done helping the customer she walked with her and never came back. I asked the other associates for assistance and they all said wait for the other associate helping a lady who had a bagful of returns. There were probably 2 other customers just looking around the store , so it was not busy. The associates were walking around, one was supposedly folding a shirt who when asked pointed at the other associate helping with the returns and then went and disappeared. My experience with Talbots at the other locations here and other states have been pleasant. Staff has always been helpful and polite. I have been a Talbots customer for almost 30 years and today's experience was indeed an EXPERIENCE so uncharasteristic of Talbots. I left the store without returning the merchandise and the associate who walked away was at the entrance fiddling with her tablet! SERVICE indeed. The attitude of the associates provoked me to write a less than positive review, my first negative review of a store. Salespeople were so friendly and helpful, even though I was just browsing for a scarf. I will definitely come back to check out the cashmere sweaters. The sweaters and many other items were offered in gorgeous colors in sizes from petite to women's extra large. read more

Always happy shopping at Talbots. They're perfect for mature women but they also have petit me section that I find to be a cute section. I like their summer blouses and of course I went straight to the sale section. Got a few summer blouses to wear in the summer with nice bright colors that go very well with my white summer pants. Haven't gone to Talbots in NYC for a while. I went there in the past but thought it wasn't really my type but now that I see a petite section, I would check it out again. I got helped from a very nice staff named B. She's great and she helped a lot of customers at this store. Great price! read more

I returned a sweater that was a gift. Karen, Christina and Stephanie were all very helpful! Everyone is courteous! It is definitely worth the drive. If you park in Macys parking lot, walk through Macys (2nd level) and take a right it is very easy to find the red awning! This is one of the few stores that has petites sizes too!!! read more

I love Talbot's, because I'm secretly my own grandmother, complete with a love of navy and sensible shoes. However, this location was sort of annoying. I came in after work one day with a very focused mission: buy a dress I'd identified online and get out. I found the dress as soon as I came in and proceeded to the dressing room with my guestimate at what my size was. I liked the dress, but realized I needed a smaller size. I again grabbed it myself. On my way back to the dressing room, a sales associate accosted me to walk the dress back to the dressing room so she could claim the sale. Meh. Fine. She did bring me a belt that had been featured with the dress online, so she was some help. I took the dress and the belt to the cash wrap. I was rung up and handed over my credit card. My items were wrapped up and I was handed the bag. I left. 20mi later, I picked up my phone to see I had a missed call. The voicemail was from Talbot's, informing me they'd failed to place the (nearly 50$) belt in my bag. They asked me to come back and get it. Now, I appreciate that they called me and I'm very thankful I was in their system to be able to be called at all. However, I was not going to turn around and drive an additional 40mi in DC rush hour traffic after they screwed up. I called back, talked to a manager. After I stood my ground, they eventually offered to ship it to me. I took them up on that. I'll be back, because, like I said, I'm secretly 45 instead of 30 and I work in a conservative environment. less than 10mn from this location. But I'll certainly be checking the contents of my shopping bag before I leave - and you should as well! read more

I went to this store over the weekend to return few online items. The sale associate, his name is Marques, did my returns incorrectly. I guess he's new here since he didn't know how to do the return. He walked into the office and asked someone else to help. Another sale associate named Andrew came out and had to start it all over. I pointed out the items on the receipt to let him know the order number and price I paid for. I was so impatient since it took him long time to do the return. Finally he asked me to sign the return. And OMG he did it wrong again!! I told him that he did it incorrectly. He turned to the other guy, Marques, and whispered something then both of them had disgusted smiley faces. Andrew gave me the return receipt and didn't even say sorry since he still didn't do it correctly. I was so pissed off. If they don't change this bad attitude towards customers, the store will eventually loose customers. read more

Today I went to Talbots Tyson's corner searching for a dress to wear to my daughter 5th grade graduation. Since I'm 8 months pregnant it's hard to find something I love and that fits. Everyone was so kind. From the moment I arrived 3 people said good morning. When I looked as though I may have need help I didn't even have to ask someone came if jr over helped me and took everything to the fitting room. She also checked in with me to see if I need another size or style then helped me to the register. This shopping experience was lovely I will return thank you read more

The Talbot's at Tysons Corner is the BEST "grown-up ladies" store in the DMV region! They have a large, varied selection of surprisingly modern clothing to style ATTRACTIVE, 'still-can-get-'em' corporate women who haven't gone out to pasture just yet - think Michelle Obama!! ;) 'AT' has become too hit or miss lately for me with 'V's being too deep to be truly professional and wayyy too much gold and silver metal and other extraneous, dangling nonsense on their clothes (who wears that stuff???) Talbots is a great, conservative balance. This location had excellent stock and VERY nice staff which is a SIGNIFICANT differentiator for me. If I'm going to pay YOU over $100 for a pair of pants, the LEAST your team can do is to be courteous and equitable in their treatment of me as a customer. The only downside was the lack of dressing rooms. They shared that they were in a temporary space when I visited so hopefully, the new space will give them more area. This store may not be the closest one to my home but I'll make the drive for the GREAT service and selection. Old Town, Alexandria Talbots? Meh. read more
