My coworkers told me to check it out and it wasn't that bad of a walk since I was boarding next door at the Marriott. I ordered the chicken meal for $9 with corn, fries, and garlic bread. I loved the corn. The chicken was dry & pink in some areas so I didn't eat that. I enjoyed the different sauces and I chose the Chicago sweet for dipping sauce. I love that they still offer curbside delivery. I ordered online and waited in my car. Food came out fast and good customer service. I wish they had a way to leave a tip online. I know tipping culture is out of control but when the food is brought to your car, that deserves something and I don't carry cash. Food looked great, was packaged well and tasted good. Arrived at about 5:30. Was seated promptly. The server was Very friendly and helpful. Came in for the burnt ends but they were out so I opted for the small rib platter. It came with 4 ribs and 2 sides for about 20 bucks. The ribs were just smoked and not really St. Louis style coated in barbecue and caramelized so it was a little bit of a shocker. The flavor was good, but the ribs were very dry. Not sure I would have them again. The beans as one of my sides was very good as was the garlic bread and the baked potato. Stopped in while waiting to go to the airport. That BBQ smoke smell hit as soon as I walked in the door. Knew it was going to be good at that moment. I ordered the 2 meat combo platter: turkey, ribs, Mac and cheese, fried okra, and 2 pieces of garlic bread. Every bit of it was delicious. Rib meat fell right off. Turkey was juicy. Good food but menu is convoluted where pricing is concerned. $27 for 3 meats & 2 sides. Up charge of $2 for 3 spoonfuls of mac & cheese is ridiculous. Plate wasn't full / heaping for $27. The tip prompt stated @ 20 or 25%. Coming from CA you wouldn't expect to see higher prices. Only explanation was "sh$&t costs a lot everywhere!" Just flew in from California for a business meeting. I have been looking forward to "St Louis" bbq for years and finally am getting to chance to taste the local offerings. I will never recommend this place to anyone. The staff is very gracious and kind, lovely people, and the vibe is that of an over commercialized Texas road house. However, the food was awful for any price tag, but especially $40 for 1 person. I ordered the 3 meat combo typical for me tasting bbq (which I have done in several states now). The chicken was so dry I could not put enough sauce on it to choke it down, the ribs were the highlight, and they still needed sauce (good ribs stand on their own with a good rub). The Brisket was a sin. Whoever overcooked that poor meat needs a talkin to. Both the coleslaw and the green beans are store bought. The green beans are straight from the can. They couldn't even be bothered to put them in some stewed tomatoes and add bacon crumbles. Murfreesboro/ Nashville Tennessee has better bbq than this spot. I also tried Sugar Fire in St Louis, that is better, but still not what I was hoping for. Come on St Louis! Step your game up. We have better bbq in Cali. read more

We stopped in here for a quick lunch. Bandana's is one of our favorite BBQ chains and this one did not disappoint. We both had the budget plates. I had chicken and DH had brisket. The chicken was a breast and it was tender and moist. DH said his brisket was good but it looked dry to me. Service was quick and attentive but not hovering. Whatever floor covering is in most Bandana restaurants is slippery, so walk carefully! read more

This is my new go-to spot in STL. It's too bad I live in CA. The Brisket is finely layered in seasoning and the perfect amount of tender. My brisket was not dry at all... The ribs were accurately cooked with loads of flavor. The ribs fell of the bone and were so good to the point I was scraping the bone trying to get any hint of flavor there was left. First of all their advertisement says smell the smoke and I smelled no smoke and saw no wood piles second of all their brisket taste like it was cooked in an oven. This Texas boy will never eat there again because this brisket barely taste like it was smoked at all. I'll give it two stars because the customer service was good, but it would be better if they were wearing bandannas. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our larger group. The brisket had great flavor. Could have been trimmed a bit more. They had 4 sauces on the table to choose from - the Spicy & KC were the two I preferred. The okra was perfect. Also highly recommend the smoked wings. Those were excellent. Great tasting ribs, they only used dry rub no sauce and they tasted great. If you want sauce, there are five different flavors on the table and it was fun to try them all. AND they have CLEAN bathrooms. I will be back tomorrow to try the burnt ends. read more

Whenever I have family in for BBQ I take them here over the likes of Suger Fire (inconsistent) and Salt + whatever (over rated). Pappys was my often go to but the St Peter's location set them back. Perfect dinner on my way home! Orders the half slab ribs with fried corn and Mac and cheese. Ribs were "fall off the bone" tender and there was more than enough. M&C was cooked perfectly and the cheese sauce was delish! The fried corn was new but wasn't as crisp as I expected. I was staying at the airport Marriott and noticed the BBQ place popped up on the map. I went in to order takeout and the food was ready within minutes. I love that you can add a rib to your meal for an extra charge. It was delicious. I ate the pork and brisket sandwich with a side of slaw and I loved it! Really, they couldn't be more kind and friendly and welcoming. If you're in STL for work, the closest hotel options seem to be Hampton Inn and Pear Tree Inn. They share a free airport shuttle in the morning so plan ahead for dual operations. It so happens that they also share this restaurant which sits right next to PTI and is about a 1 - 2 minute walk from the HI. I ordered the burnt ends platter with sweet cut corn and extra garlic bread on the Yelp app. Order status was dead on. Beyond convenience, Bandana's ranks about 3 stars. There was perhaps one party sitting and eating in the restaurant and they were about an hour out from closing. I walked in and no one made eye contact and I had to stand around for a few minutes before someone came to hand me my order that sat on the counter waiting for me. They pack plasticware whether you opt in or not which I left behind at the hotel. I also got 5 assorted BBQ sauce packets and a generous pile of napkins which were completely necessary. Everything was tasty from the sweet corn, which was basically canned quality heated up to the garlic toast that was generously buttered (but not especially garlicky) and perfectly toasted to the 9 oz pile of burnt ends soaking in a pool of its own grease at the bottom of the Styrofoam container. They were tender and had good flavor with a piquant sweetness from the BBQ sauce but fairly fatty unless you pick it like I did which reduced my pile of napkins to a big oily ball on the bottom of my hotel trash can. It was okay especially for over $24, but I think I'll try something different on my visit next week. More later... Came back and tried the choose three combo platter with two sweet corn and chicken / brisket / pulled pork. All three meats are tasty if you eat them warm. I think BBQ is really intended for sauce saveurs which I'm not. I think the smokiness and marinade should provide enough but this place probably relies a little bit more on their special sauces for the meats to shine. Nothing wrong with that but I'll never know what others will experience here savoring each type with their BBQ. read more

When in Saint Louis, Missouri. I ordered the lunch- Pork and Burnt Ends. This BBQ restaurant was close to my stay with good reviews and I can say the Mac and cheese was really good, the fried okra needed a bit more seasoning. The pork and burnt ends were cooked very well, but I would have preferred a bit more of a smokey or spicy kick. The order came with 2 delicious pieces of garlic bread. I travel for work and am excited to do a "local" review for me. I stopped in here in my way back into town. The site is located across the interstate from the St Louis airport. Therefore I am doing this review for all of those temporarily living in hotel rooms while in a new city just like I am many nights a year. Simply put this is on the list of St Louis eats when from out of town. First off, Bandana's is a chain with many locations throughout the Missouri and central Illinois area. This may not be that ultimate best single shop spot that Guy Fieri will do a show from but this will meet your BBQ cravings. Second, it's consistent. I've been to their restaurants throughout the STL and as far as Paducah Kentucky and have had a quality meal every time. That's what makes this my go-to. I recommend the combo platter. Burnt ends are my new thing but I'll still combo it with pulled pork or something. One plus is you can get the lunch size all day long so if your not starving or don't want to carry a doggie bag home, a smaller portion is available. The table has 4 styles of sauces for you to use and your plate comes with slices of Texas toast to use as a base for testing them. I find that for my two sides the beans and a really good potato salad are good choices. If your sitting in a hotel room at the airport wanting something not found in every other destination your sent to then go for it. Food and service is great. Atmosphere is laid back. Your in, your out and your satisfied with a great meal. BTW, that local pizza chain with St Louis style pizza is a waste of money (in case you were debating). Go with the sure thing! read more
