Chicken wing plate with mixed greens and macaroni (added my own seasoning)
    Dear P.

My boyfriend just bought me food from here , I love to support black business but to be a real supporter I have to be honest in order for y'all to do better. I don't know if there are elder people with blood pressure issues that comes to this restaurant but there was absolutely no seasonings on my chicken wings nor macaroni, and my cornbread was burnt the greens were the only thing that were good . This is my Second time trying them and again I'm Disappointed. Y'all have the ingredients, the recipes are just off and I can't even say I'm biased being from Louisiana but this food was an example of pure laziness . And now I have to spend more money on somewhere else to eat ‍

The food and service was excellent. I received fast freshly cooked food. The staff was friendly and greeted you upon arrival. The restaurant was spacious and plenty of room for social distancing. There was no long line or wait like some cafeteria style restaurants. When you are dining here in you order at the cash register, then they bring your food and drinks to you. The location is great, it's right off the highway (I-170) Airport rd and you can can easily hop back on. It has a Southern feel to this restaurant, like Atlanta or South Carolina feel. Breakfast is served until 11am, nice low profile place to bring a breakfast date.

Fried Pork Chop, Mac and Cheese, and Cabbage

It's pretty good down-home cooking. The spit wasn't crowded at all and parking is free and ample. I got the fried pork chops, cabbage, and Mac. I passed on dessert or any bread. Everything was delicious. They give you a lot for your money. The cabbage were very well seasoned and the pork chop was crisp and delicious. The Mac and cheese was pretty good but was not the traditionally baked pie form. I was pleased to support this Black-owned business during my trip to St. Louis st the suggestion of a cousin.

Sides Plate: greens, sweet potatoes mac n cheese, cabbage and cornbread

Even though the meat looked very good, I only had a taste for sides today...primarily because I couldn't decide on just 2 sides if I'd gotten a meat. Ha! I chose the Mac n Cheese, Sweet Potatoes, Cabbage and Greens. All of it was AWESOME!! Perfectly seasoned and prepared. I enjoyed every bite of this meal. I tasted a little meat from my family and I can say that the smothered pork chops are GREAT! I'll be back!

Nice decorations and huge TV inside!

Went for lunch for the first time. They have a decent sized lot in a strip mall. It was getting full but there was space. The restaurant is roomy yet cozy. It was clean and bright. I liked how they had several tvs. There's a cafeteria line where you can select your meal. You can also order off menu at the counter. There were plenty of dessert options too. I got the ol Henry widowmaker which had a huge burger that was very well seasoned. Plenty of lettuce, tomato, onions, and a slice of cheese. There was also bacon!!! All this was put on the burger and the veggies were very fresh. The burger was on a glazed donut that brought in the sweet and salty factor. The burger was tasty and I would get it again. I wasn't sure if the donut was grilled or not, but it would be nice if it was. The meal came with a side. I got the sweet potatoes and they were definitely extra sweet with the juice, but it was good. They bring you the drink and utensils. I saw the banana pudding with vanilla wafers but didn't get it. I should've but am attempting to eat a little healthier. Next time no donut and pudding instead. Some had cornbread muffins and that looked really tasty too. They have lots of sandwiches and the cafeteria line has chicken, fish, pork chops. They also serve breakfast in the morning.

    Everything was wonderful!!! Everything.

I've been there once or twice over the years, and I've eaten from the food truck once or twice. The fried chicken is fine but kinda underwhelming. It's good, but not to the point where it justifies the price. It's served on a metal tray, on a piece of wax paper, as if it were premium Texas barbecue, but at the end of the day, it's not barbecue. It's just fried chicken. The dirty little secret of fried chicken is that it's not especially hard to make decent-quality fried chicken. They sell it at gas stations, in grocery stores. Popeyes employees lacking in basic life skills, whom you wouldn't trust to make a cup of coffee, routinely crank out a product as good as anything else you can get in a restaurant. Not that I'm complaining. I love Grace! It's where I go when my "bad" cholesterol is too low and the balance in my checking account is too high. I'm at a problematic and yet gratifying state of equlibrium after yesterday's visit. I already kinda knew that I wasn't going to bother with the chicken, but I could hardly read the menu. I almost went with a half-chicken just to avoid having to squint. They've got one of those backlit screens, like at a McDonald's (where everyone just uses the kiosk now anyway), but with worse fonts and less line-spacing. I'm sure they paid a premium for it back in '06 or whatever. Everything in this place is peak stomp clap-era millennial optimism, from back when guys were dressing as lumberjacks. Of course there's a random, incongruous smash burger on the menu. They may or may not be playing Mumford & Sons on the Muzak. I figured the chicken sandwich, called the OG Crispy, would be a good opportunity to compare it to the famous chicken sandwich at the aforementioned Popeyes. Also, it comes with fries, which spared me from having to take out a loan on my house to purchase them a la carte. At $16 (I think), it'll definitely run you, but in general, the prices here seem less ridiculous than they used to. It's still entirely too much, but somehow not much more than you'd spend at a fast food restaurant. Are the fries that come with a sandwich the same size that they are if you order them separately? Supposedly, the a la carte side feeds two. I couldn't imagine two people sharing the side that comes with the OG Crispy. Someone might get cut! It was a perfectly fine size for just me. They're seasoned with some sort of blend that's heavy on the black pepper. I would have been fine with just salt, but this was no dealbreaker. The OG Crispy was great! Was it better than the chicken sandwich at Popeyes? It's hard to say. It's probably a better quality piece of chicken. Similar size. Expertly prepared: nice and crisp on the outside and not overcooked on the inside, which is key for white meat. You're given the choice of regular or hot. I of course went with the hot. I wish the sauce had more tang to it, but it was surprisingly and delightfully hot. Spicy foods in non-ethnic restaurants are so often nerfed, for children and, erm, non-ethnics. A few people at my table had the po boys, both shrimp and catfish. They looked really good, and not as skimpy as they look in some of the photos posted here. I might have to try one, once my LDL subsides and my financial situation recovers. Sandwiches might be the thing to get here. Not that you can truly go wrong with anything.

The thyme and elderflower you can really taste. Food: *Crab Beignets - AMAZING!! I wanted more than 3. Had a nice crunchy crust but soft on the inside. The lemon aioli was really good as well with it. *Lucy Q Big Plate - great way to experience trying all the meats they other. Only complaint was that the brisket was a bit dry. Dessert: *Salted Bourbon Caramel Cheesecake - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - I wanted not a slice but the whole cheesecake! Next the Gnocchi was Soo rich and creamy and I would definitely order this again, it is reminiscent of Mac n Cheese but elevated. Onto the Crawfish Pie, was not really sure what to expect but it delivered! Handheld flaky crust pie packed with crawfish stuffing and served with a sort of stewed tomatoes on the side. The stewed tomatoes were definitely something I would not have ever selected but nice. Service was very attentive!! The menu is Southern eclectic bordering Tapas which I enjoyed.

Advertisements online talked about "rolling out the red carpet" for mom, including receiving a glass of champagne, a hand-selected personal gift from the team, and a special Art Deco Goddess coloring sheet for the kids. However, our Mother's Day experience was not special at all. I went with my husband, 2 young kids, and my mother. When the waitress greeted us, she wasn't very friendly and didn't even say Happy Mother's Day when there was 2 mothers at the table. She didn't mention anything about the free champagne...we had to ask for it. We did not receive a hand-selected personal gift. There was also no special coloring sheet for the kids - we were just coloring on the kids menu. Nothing about our experience was special. Next year, I will pick somewhere else to go for Mother's Day. I felt more like a burden here than someone to be celebrated. The food was still decent. I got the pesto chicken sandwich with the bird seed salad. The bird seed salad was the star. Loved the poppyseed vinaigrette dressing and the bruleed apple slice (never seen that before - how unique and cool!). The pesto sandwich was a bit difficult to eat - while the chicken was moist, the bread was very crusty and dry which made the overall sandwich very dry. It was kinda hard to get through. I ended up taking it home and reheating it in the microwave and it was a little better after doing that because it allowed the pesto to soak into the bread and moisten it up a bit. I ordered a scoop of Zanzibar chocolate ice cream with hot fudge and this was truly amazing. The kids menu could definitely use some work - seems more like an after thought. It isn't even posted online to view in advance. I can't remember all the choices, but it was limited. I remember 2 different peanut butter sandwiches available, Mac and cheese, and a "pizza" on focaccia type bread. I put pizza in quotes because most kids I know are picky and this isn't a traditional pizza so we couldn't order this because our kids probably wouldnt eat it especially if the bread on the pizza was as dry and crusty as it was on my pesto sandwich. We ended up ordering the Mac and cheese, which was actually really good and the kids liked it. Just wish there were more options. What was really disappointing though is they served apple slices on the plate with the core still in it...serving apple core to a child is a safety hazard and just plain lazy.
