Beach House Burgers here for the rescue! Honestly nothing except bagels across the street was open in that close area on a Friday midday. We had driven from morning all the way to Kure to enjoy the beach first thing. We did not want a burger or anything greasy we wanted healthy food - but the universe had different plans for us and after walking within the blocks checking each restaurant in each corner the only one opened was them and no wonder it was so busy and popular.. it was the only thing available. But surprisingly it was delicious. The double burger with cheese wasn't greasy and not too salty so definitely a good order! My mother had fried and it was not bad at all. Visited on 6/4. Asked for bacon cheeseburger, was told no bacon...OK, asked for a shake, was told no ice cream...we'll, can I have ketchup for the cold, dead fries? Was told NO KETCHUP! WHAT??!! Bacon and ice cream, ok, but ketchup??What burger and fries joint doesn't have ketchup? This is a shack on the side of the road. No seating window service only. I got the bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, and fries. The burgers were excellent. Fries good, onion rings would have been fabulous if they didn't over fry them. But all and all very good. I asked for extra pickles and some on the side. She said they don't give pickles on the side. That is why is one of the reasons I'm not giving 5 stars as my burger did not have extra pickles.... The other reason was the over fried onion rings. Either way I'll try it again but look at my burger before bringing it back home to eat make sure it actually HAS the extra pickles I asked for. read more

Found this little place while spending the week at Kure Beach. Super conveniently located! A short walk from the sandy beach! We stopped by for lunch one day and it hit the spot. This is kind of comparable to a concession stand at a ballgame or to an little old shack from my home town called, "the bantam chef". Service is quick, prices are great, and location is 5star! Not a healthy food option , but it was good enough for us! Our girls got a soft serve cone while waiting. Would eat here again! This spot is not closed. Sunday Hours are 11-5 . First time coming to Beach House Burgers today. Took the golf cart from CB and enjoyed a quick drive to this hamburger joint. Basic menu with lots of options for burger toppings. I got a burger, no cheese, lettuce, pickles and tomatoes. Hubby ordered the double burger- same toppings + mustard. 2 orders of fries and a Diet Coke to share. We took an outside seat and our name was called when the order was ready. Hamburger was cooked perfectly - juicy & moist. I liked the bun. The burger reminded me of childhood. The fries were fat and cooked well but over-seasoned. Hubby didn't think so. Our table had a great view of the ocean and Kure Pier. We will come back. It's classic old school and sometimes that's all you need. Lots of parking behind the building. read more

Ate here late on the first night we arrived on vacation at Kure Beach. This place is great!! Very friendly service, delicious burgers, fries and onion rings!! Yummy!! My 8-year-old (who is absolutely one of the pickiest eaters around) said he wants to eat here all the time now. I wish I had thought to snap a picture of the food before we gobbled it all down because everything was delicious. The burgers were perfectly cooked, thick and seasoned well. And they offer a free drink to military and firefighters which is always nice to see. I just can't say enough nice things. Mannnnnn...I hope I'm not mobbed by locals for this review. I had such high expectations after reading many positive Yelp reviews about Beach House Burgers but it just did not wow me at all. My family and I went down to Kure Beach to spend one day this past weekend and we had chosen BHB to eat at before we even left our home in Wilmington. I wasn't completely let down, but I'll say that the entire experience fell into the "meh" category for me in all areas. FOOD: It's a burger shack so naturally I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, onion and mayo with a side of onion rings. Let's start off with a big positive...this meat is fresh and tastes as if it were prepared at a backyard, family get-together. The cheese was adequate, melted to the patty well and the toppings were also fresh, cool and crisp. Another bonus is the value for what you get. The cheeseburger set me back about $6.50 and the onion rings for another couple bucks and change. For any type of restaurant / shack to be situated near the beach in a heavy tourist area and offer up today's food at these prices...is good. Where the burger fell short though, was on flavor. Each bite I took, I could taste fresh beef but very little seasoning (ie salt, pepper, rub, anything), making the patty extremely bland. When I took bites, I tasted more of the onion, lettuce and mayo than meat, even though the meat was more abundant. I was also not a fan of BHB's choice of bread buns, used to create these carnivorous stacks. To me, they tasted like a supercenter brand, bought in bulk. The onion rings were ok. They were cooked well and served with a side sauce but tasted like hundreds of others I've had before and will not remember. Once again...it's a value side, I get it. SCORE: 3 STARS!! SERVICE: Of course there was a line at 1:30 pm on a sunny June Sunday at the peak of tourist season but that was to be expected. We walked up after parking nearby (there is limited, 30-minute parking at BHB for dining customers) and waited in line for 10 minutes. The menu was simple, easy to read and to the point. I ordered my burger (which are all cooked to order and are customizable with approx. 10 various toppings to choose from), my wife ordered the same and then I ordered a fish sandwich for our 12 YO son. You'd think he's borderline, pre-teen vegan since he does not eat any beef other than a steak and also does not do sandwiches nor hot dogs of any kind. I was then informed that they were out of fish. When I asked if they could just charge me for a BLT and make a simple grilled cheese (2 slices of bread with a slice of cheese, lightly toasted) for him, I was advised they couldn't make and didn't offer grilled cheese. Ummm...ok...a grilled cheese may, quite have possibly, been the easiest thing you could have made all day but I also understand I'm not entitled to an off-menu item either...so we'll just cancel out this argument. So, we settled with ordering 2 sides for his meal. After going through the ordering adventure and settling our bill for $25, we were told our name would be called in about 20 mins. Ok...I'll wait 20 mins for a fresh, made-to-order burger on grill! 33 mins later, after we walked around Ocean Front Park for awhile and then found shade from the blazing heat of the fireball in the sky nearby, our name was called. The young lady who took our order was pleasant, as was the young lady who had our food ready at the window, but that's about all that can be said about the service I encountered. SCORE: 2.7 STARS!! OVERALL SCORE: Do they have fresh burgers? Yep. Do they look scrumptious in photos? Oh yeah. Do they taste amazing, packed full of flavor and make you wish it was a never-ending patty of beef? Sorry, but no. It was a mediocre, bland value meal with the wait comparable to a 5-star restaurant and service that was just kinda...there. I was very, and I do mean very, disappointed by this cute little burger shack. I wanted to love it and tell others about it bc it appeared to be remarkable...but I left disappointed. 2.9 STARS!! read more

Its a walk up and order place with a couple old picnic tables to sit at but we went there on a fabulous day. There is a nice view of the park and the ocean. It has parking which is a big deal for that area. Burgers were thick and tasty. My daughter had the blt and she liked that too. French fries were good. Onion rings were delicious. This is an awesome place to get a burger, definitely some of the best burgers I've ever had. The burgers are huge and hand made from fresh ground beef, not little frozen burger patties. The double cheeseburgers are no doubt atleast a half pound. The double cheeseburger with mustard, slaw, chili & onions is killer, I add pickles to mine and it's ridiculous. The fries are outstanding too, fried perfectly golden brown and well seasoned every time. It's a brightly colored little orange and green building with a walk-up window only, located by the Kure Beach Fishing Pier. They are only open during the summer, Labor Day Mondays are the last day they open for the season. Besides burgers they do hot dogs, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, BLT's and a few other items. Definitely a great spot to grab lunch while at the beach, it's a place I hit every time I'm in town when they are open. read more
