I could keep adding things which occurred but I think you get the overall incompetence and unprofessionalism of the evening When I spoke to management about my disappointment I was informed me that nothing they had done impacted my guests enjoyment and they did not understand why I felt they had not delivered what had been promise/presented at the tasting. So in true OCD crazy bride fashion I asked for references and previous brides to talk to about their experience. Amy did not even blink or make me feel totally insane which is a quality every bride should look for in a wedding planner. We thankfully chose the full planning package, because we were planning our Chicago wedding from across the country. Amy responded to every midnight email, every pacific coast phone call and never made us feel like we were alone. I was elbow to elbow with the people on either side of me, which made it a little hard to move around and paint. The actual brushes we used seemed to be a little worn, so they didn't paint as well. Maybe omitting one or two chairs from the tables to provide extra painting room would make it a little more comfortable? Just a suggestion, otherwise I would definitely recommend attending one of their painting socials.

Now after attending, I can say that this spot really exceeded expectations. One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. This led to a much more relaxed atmosphere for talking than most weddings that I've attended (I'm not huge into dancing). Even throughout the afternoon and evening, it was very nice to be able to enjoy appetizers on the beautiful rooftop deck, enjoy music and dancing on the dance floor, while still being able to carry on a conversation in the large main dining room -- or head downstairs to lounge around to avoid the crowds and noise. As I attended for a family wedding, I was also able to utilize the generously sized suites that had more than enough room for everyone to bring items they needed and have space to get ready for the event. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future.
