Such a fun place to hangout. They had a great playlist and so many fun cocktails to try. The bartenders were great and the atmosphere is funky.

Totally Whimsical! My partner came here for a drink before our last date night. Such a fun spot with eclectic decor! Madison needs more places like this! The vibes are spectacular, and make you just want to sink in and read a good book. I love this part of Madison!! The only thing to keep in mind, is that the drinks are a tad on the pricey side. Expect $12 plus for a small cocktail. They are definitely worth it, stop in, have a drink, then go out for dinner.

Really cool little bar in Madison, WI. Had great fun drinks & great bartenders. Its very retro & cool. Nice quiet place for a drink with friends. I even tried to duplicate a yummy drink they serve with gin, elderflower liquor & orgeat (almond)

This place fills the void to a small but lovely extent left behind by the Barber's Closet that disappeared in the Hotel Washington fire so many years ago. The drinkmasters are really into their thing. A perfect place to have a thoughtful beverage with people you enjoy.

I love this place. Right next to Settle Down, it's a cute quirky spot with amazing drinks, good vibes, and fun snacks! The Honey Coffee Martini and the House of Gucci Mane are two of my favorite drinks. A delicious espresso martini and a sweet brandy cocktail, respectively. Definitely recommend trying this place for a pre-dinner drink or after dinner night cap!

If your junk drawer was the place where all your creative notions went to wait for that next dopamine spike, this is the party everything in that drawer is having. I was expecting the vibe to be disjointed, but it's totally on point. It's moody, it's fun, it's curious. Easy snacks, potent drinks, and friendly staff to throw around a joke or two, this could be my new hangout.

I was in the area for something near the Majestic and came across this fun otter cozy spot. They have some freest unique twists on classic cocktails. I really enjoyed my old fashioned and if you don't see what you like just ask. They are more than willing to make you something not on the menu. Some snacks options available too. Super friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. Many of the ingredients are local and fresh. The basil was picked for their garden the same morning!

Oz by Oz is a new downtown bar located next door from the Majestic Theatre. It's a small little bar that gives off a New Orleans vibe. I ordered three House of Gucci Manes which includes Amaro, Raspberry, Fino Sherry, pineapple juice, and lime. The service was amazing and I plan to frequent here more often.

I was very impressed with the service and quality of beverages. I went to Oz with my girlfriend last week and the venue was completed booked on seating. The amiable waiter told us we could grab drinks at a nearby venue and he would notify us when seats were available. The waiter did follow through and provided us with lovely seats to enjoy some very unique cocktails. I really appreciated that level of service. The drinks were affordable priced ($10-$15 dollars per cocktail) and were pretty strong/flavorful (bang for your buck!). Overall, would recommend because of the service, chill/dim ambiance, and strong drinks.

My favorite cocktails in in downtown Madison. Their freezer bloody mary is stunning and quite strong.

Delicious Cocktails, cool atmosphere and amazing bartender, Erin! It's my first time in Madison and she took the time to give me awesome ideas of things to do and places to go around town! I will def be back into Oz by Oz!

I had dinner plans, so I just wanted to stop in for a drink and snack. They have some really good offers for HH and their cheese curds are half off. I had never had one, so it sounded like the perfect time to try. I got a glass of wine and the curds. They came out quickly, hot and fresh. It was a big bowl of fried cheese. They come with ranch and hot honey, and apparently they recently won best cheese curd at the cheese curd crawl. They were super tasty. Well seasoned, perfectly fried, and kind of chewy. I am not on the hot honey frenzy train, but I tried it and thought it paired well, just wasn't for me. The ranch was tasty though. Even the happy hour portion was hefty and I couldn't put down half. A little wine and cheese on a beautiful day, just makes for a good experience. They were making some pretty interesting cocktails behind the bar, and it is definitely worth coming back to try out their other options.

As soon as I sat down, I was asked what I wanted to drink and if I was dining at the bar. I ended up ordering a Negroni Sbagliato since I rarely see that on a cocktail menu. It was very well made. Kudos to the bartender, Warren! He also explained the nightly special and I ended up ordering the pasta dish and the fennel salad. The pasta special was so yummy and the tomato sauce reminded me of my Italian grandpa's sauce. The owner, Dino, checked on me and told me a little about himself. Dining solo can be hard, but I'm thankful that the staff here made me feel comfortable. It was the best meal I had on my business trip and will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to this area!

The carbonara was a standout, and the octopus and calamari were some of the best we've had. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the tortellini was another favorite. Great food across the board and a perfect place for sharing several dishes. The only misses were the house Cabernet, which was disappointing compared with the quality of the food, and the lack of any non-dairy milk option for coffee. It's 2026--having oat or almond milk available feels like a pretty basic expectation at this point. Those are small criticisms of an otherwise excellent dinner. We'd absolutely come back, especially for the carbonara, octopus, and calamari.

A couple of my friends opted for whiskey flights that they had been looking forward to sipping. And then a couple of us did the wine option. I didn't understand how it worked at first but it is very simple -- you get a little card to swipe at the wine machines and then you can choose whichever wine you want. You can opt for a small tasting pour or more of a traditional pour. At the end of the night you return your wine card and pay for whatever you had. I have heard of this type of wine bar before but hadn't tried it yet. It's brilliant! Everyone enjoyed their drinks and it was fun to try some new wines and whiskeys. I would definitely come back to enjoy the tots and some different wines next time!

My husband and I both had salads and the bowl was too small for the salad but it was a decent salad I do wish the cheese was sprinkled on top as it ended up going to the bottom of the bowl. For an entree I had steak frites. Fries were solid and the cooking of the steak was good with the charcoal but it didn't have much flavor. The chard on the side was also good considering I've never had it. For dessert we had the valentine special chocolate cake and again it was good but nothing super special. I've now tried every single flatbread on their menu, and they're all outstanding! Even their steak gorgonzola flatbread is incredible and I don't like steak! They also have the best spinach artichoke dip I've ever tasted, and they're served with these delightful warm pieces of pita bread... I'm pretty sure this stuff came right out of an oven. On my most recent visit, I actually ended up getting an Old Fashioned and my dining mate got a cosmo. Both were absolutely fantastic. The bartender even came over and said the last bit of the cosmo he made tasted like it was heavy on the lime and he offered to re-make it... I'd call that service to the hilt! There was no need to re-make the cosmo, however, as we both found it to be delicious. The bar also has some really great high end liquors and craft beer options. They also have NA options. So, while it is a fun wine bar where you get to self-service pour your own wine, don't let the name fool you -- this place has something for everyone. I've also come here with a friend who has a gluten allergy and they have gluten free bread for their delicious flatbreads.
