We found this absolute gem for Sunday brunch after seeing great reviews for their gluten-free options, and it did not disappoint. We made a 12:00 PM reservation, which was definitely necessary because the place was full. Right off the bat, our server asked if anyone had food allergies or dietary restrictions. When I mentioned I have celiac disease, he confidently assured me they could absolutely accommodate it, which immediately gave me peace of mind. I ordered a strawberry spritz and we shared the gluten-free donuts to start. A huge win for the celiac community is that they have a dedicated fryer, so we also safely shared the truffle fries. For our main entrees, I had the fried rice which was excellent. My husband ordered the skirt steak hash with gluten-free toast and loved it, though it is worth noting for others that it packs quite a lot of spice. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive regarding the allergy protocols. The overall service ran a little slow, but it was understandable given how slammed they were for the Sunday rush. As an added bonus, the restaurant has its own parking lot, making the logistics seamless. A solid 3 stars. Arrived around 1130am on a gorgeous Saturday. The parking lot was full, which is a great sign. I was able to easily find a spot at the bar, another great sign. The bartenders were personable and competent (I watched them deftly make multiple drinks at once). The space is large and well lit, and the outdoor seating looked nice. I'm sure it's a vibe when the temps are a little warmer. I ordered 2 drinks. Haley's Comet - tasty, albeit a little sweet for me. Call Her Daddy - def my favorite, better balanced imo. I ordered the brunch fried rice and it was a letdown. It was advertised as having bacon and there was none to be found. The food was not hot, leaning towards cold. Like it had been sitting out. We made reservations for as soon as they opened and were sat right away. It's a decent sized restaurant. I saw they could seat 20 groups of people. I think max occupancy was 155. They were busy during the entire time we were there but they don't move through tables quickly. We got coffee and I would have liked if they came to fill it more regularly. I had already started my breakfast and was half way done before I got my second cup. We got the truffle fries as an appetizer and those were fantastic. It did take 40 minutes before we did get the fries though. For my main breakfast I got the French toast and you can't really taste the custard and I would have liked a little more syrup on it because it was a little dry on the outside but they inside was super soft. The French toast is huge and you'll definitely have left overs. We also got the barbacoa burrito which was also giant but delicious. The food overall was very good. My only complaint was that all in all it took an hour and half before we left the restaurant and I think that's a little long for breakfast but that's a personal opinion. read more

Another older review that needs updating since we have dined here a number of times in the last few years. We would probably eat here more often except for its location on the other side of town. We had a reservation on a Friday night and it was essential because the place was hopping. We were early enough to catch the end of their happy hour which was a good deal. Specialty drinks for $8 and 1/2 off apps. We got their special Moscow mule which was OK but their pomegranate based martini was very good. We also ordered starters: the tempura veggies (fried food that seems healthy) and the ahi tuna on crispy sticky rice. Both were very good but the ahi tuna was exceptional. For our mains my wife got the power bowl which she really enjoyed. I got the fried chicken sandwich which I have had before but this time it was just OK - a bit dry. Our waitress was very good and did a good job of pacing everything out so that we did not feel rushed by all dishes showing up at once. It's one of the better blueberry matchas that I've had so far. I love Everly. I've only ever been for brunch, so I wanted to check out dinner. Our server was great! He was prompt and helpful. They were quite crowded on a weekday evening. The vibes are always nice here, with green decor and outdoor seating as well. The mac and cheese wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be, it was definitely more creamy than cheesy. The bolognese was delicious, and the tikka masala flatbread sandwich was pretty flavorful. It wasn't too spicy, probably around a 1.5/5 on a spicy scale. Reservation and seated immediately, but it took over an hour to eat. There are no turkey or non-meat substitute options. The server was not attentive, took 20 minutes to get more coffee, and honestly the gal who brought our food should be the waiter and our waiter should be the food runner. Terrible. The most irritating part of our experience, is that I'm tired of going to places in this town where staff wear political buttons or flags. You serve everyone and people of all stripes, colors, and religions. If you're running a place that's supposed to welcome all then as an owner you should have a policy like Switzerland. But if I were to ever come back I would never want to be waited on by her again. We had to ask for refills of water after I seen her look at our empty cups and keep walking. When I asked for straws she did bring them in napkins but she placed them on the table so fast they rolled out onto the table. The chicken and waffles .. The waffles taste like they were frozen and warmed up. They didn't taste like they were freshly made - they were hard. The chicken, wasn't that bad, the color of the batter was off it looked very light .. oddly light but the flavor was ok. Needed more seasoning. The syrup was thinly placed on there. I wish the waitress would have asked,"do you need more syrup"? The Sirloin Hash... It was ok, it definitely needed tomato salsa or a light pico de gallo for people who don't like a "runny egg" or a sunny egg. I asked her could they cook the egg a little longer - I just didn't want it runny and it came back hard (sigh). A little more meat wouldn't hurt either. At the end, she took at least 10 min to bring my change for the bill. I'm like what is going on!? This place is really beautiful and the neighborhood is gorgeous. We had to park away, and enjoyed the walk. We are here from out of town. The reviews looked great, and the photos were very appetizing. Our server was very nice. I really liked the purple potatoes too. (fingerlings) We ordered the chicken and waffles, the steak hash, the salmon avocado Benedict, and the avocado toast. Unfortunately, we found the food to be very bland. I think a little salt, pepper and garlic would go a long way here. It was very beautiful and instagram-able, but no flavor. Additionally, I am not sure my salmon was still good. I had a hard time with the flavor and did not eat more than a couple of bites. I felt nauseous and decided to stop eating it. I do eat smoked salmon pretty regularly, and this just didn't sit right. my last point would probably be that our food took quite a bit of time to get to us. Everly used to be my absolutely favorite place to meet friends. I loved the tea braised pork for dinner. It was filling and so delicious. I haven't been there for dinner in a couple of months, and I was suprised to find a completely new menu for dinner, excluding the pork dish. I ordered the beef skewers with "lettuce cups", pickled veg and some type of salsa on the side. It was not a cohesive plate, the iceburg lettuce was simply a hunk off of a head of lettuce, not even enough of a piece to create a wrap. The salsa was sickly sweet, and it did not pair with the beef at all. The beef was okay, but nothing to rave about. For dessert, we had the panna cotta, and I was completely unable to eat it. it was visually unappetizing, and the texture was off. It was served with a citrus preserve, pistachios and some type of chocolate maybe. Our server was a delight, and we did tell her about our displeasure. I also spoke with the host. They did say that brunch hasn't changed much, so I'm hopeful I will still enjoy that. I could see your everyday Wisconsinite maybe complain that you get two pieces of fish for $19 but let's remember, inflation, they make it GF (such a delight for those with dietary restrictions-we had two in the group) and it's a perfect portion that doesn't leave you with a heavy gut. I'm sold on it and would come back here! Menu offers a wide variety of flavors. They were out of my first choice dessert - Japanese cheesecake, but I did enjoy the apple crisp too! Great options for seating inside and outside (patio). Size inclusive seating, wheelchair accessible. Parking options are good; there is a parking lot but you can also park on the street if it gets full because it's a share lot. I always get the butternut squash & forbidden rice curry (add salmon). Had a dinner with friends at Everly last night and have to give the place a very mixed review. I had their burger and paid extra for the sweet potato fries. I started off with a Wisconsin staple...a brandy old fashioned. The brandy old fashioned was a real disappointment, extra weak and served without the traditional orange slice or cherries. It tasted like a mediocre mix poured out of a bottle. Burger was tasty and beautifully done, but the fries were rather limp and nasty. I dined at Everly twice this past week because I had such a great first visit. My first experience was a weeknight dinner, and my second was a late Saturday lunch. Our waiter was extremely attentive and had a wonderfully bright personality. Service was very quick, from placing our order to receiving our dishes. We ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer, and they were fresh out of the fryer. The fries had the perfect level of truffle oil, and they were SO crispy. My favorite dish from both visits was the kale salad. I would eat this every single day if I could. The salad is mixed with a sweet vinaigrette, and topped with finely shaved Parmesan and thinly diced apples. Both the chicken sandwich and house burger were good. But the stand-out entree was the steak sandwich I ordered for dinner earlier in the week. I was blown away by the sandwich, and how deliciously seasoned the steak was. For lunch, we spent $44 for two entrees and an appetizer, and it was well worth the service, environment, and yummy food.
